Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
Dealing with Tricks of the Trade was a nightmare. They were recommended by the agent that was handling the listing for the house we purchased. We signed the purchase agreement in mid September and were planning on a closing date of Nov3. The initial bid was two weeks late and despite this fact, the intial bid covered less than a third of the work we discussed. It took three weeks of constant phone calls to even get a response from Tricks of the Trade to even begin to address the work not covered in the initial bid. Efven our mortgae company could not get any response from the contractor In fact, it was not until we advised the agent handling the listing for the seller that we were actively looking for a new contractor, that we received any response from Tricks of the Trade. This delay forced us to get the first of what ultimately ended up being three extensions on our purchase agreement at a substantial cost to us. We were advised by Tricks of the Trade that we were their "priority" and told that Tricks of the Trade would be meeting with us at a local millworks the following Saturday to pick out cabinets and countertops. We arrived minutes early, and at the agreed upon appointment time, the contractor had not showed up. We called the contractor and he advised us he was on his way, and to go speak to an employee of the millworks company We talked with the employee of the millworks company and began looking at cabinets and countertops. Over minutes past the agreed upon appointment time, the millworks employee found us and advised us that Tricks of the Trade had just called them to say they were not going to be showing and to "please, let the customers know". The contractor could not even be bothered to call us directly, despite the fact that they claimed we were their "priority" The new bid which was supposed to cover all of the work we wanted to have done was THREE weeks late. This was not received until again we threatened to look for another contractor. When we received the revised bid from the contractor, it did include all the work requested. It also was much higher than we expected and some of the work would need to be removed to meet budget. It once again required the intervention of the agent handling the listing for the seller to get any response from the contractor We met with the contractor and determined which portions of the work would have to be removed from the bid. We waited for the new bid and THAT was at least a week late. We finally made settlement on December and waited for work to begin. We did not call until after the new year so as not to disturb the contractor's holidays. When we called after New Year's, the contractor advised us that now he could get the asbestos testing done, since the seller would not allow us to do so until settlement was made and the house was ours. We had problems with the HUD consultant regarding disbursing of funds for the project, and I know that is out the contractor's hands. Tricks of the Trade advised us that they would get the asbestos testing done, and were having architectural blueprints drawn up for the kitchen bump out While the contractor told us they were handling these those items on their end, we went through our mortgage company in an effort to get the HUD consultant to provide funding for the project, but were ultimately unsuccessful On Jan 6, we made arrangements with the contractor to meet at the house on Jan to go over what portions of the house were to be left as is. We called and left a voicemail for the contractor and texted the contractor on Jan to confirm this appointment. We did the same on Jan 15, Jan and even Jan prior to the appointment time. None of those calls or texts received a reply. Not surprisingly, the contractor once again did not show up for a scheduled appointment. After over a month and a half without ANY work being done, we tried daily via phone calls and text messages to speak with the contractor. None of our calls or texts were answered. We finally received an e-mail stating that Tricks of the Trade would not being doing any of the agreed upon work and that they considered the contract null and void I have since come to question whether the contractor and the agent are in business together. When our mortgage company was unable to get any response from the contractor to obtain a copy of their business license and insurance papers, the agent handling the listing for the seller was able to provide them.
Regards,

On October 17,*** *** purchased a *** Dodge Journey with 97,milesThe vehicle was fully services on October 8, and a new ** state inspection sticker was appliedThe vehicle came with a power train (month/ mile warranty)Sometime in mid December she contacted
the dealership that her car had an antifreeze leak but was not overheating, I explained to her not to operate the car if it is overheating because it could cause damage to the motorAfter she canceled multiple appointments at the mechanic, it was finally decided there was a small antifreeze leak, a follow up appointment scheduled to repair the leak, again she was a no show A few weeks went by and she asked if she could trade the vehicle back for something differentAt that time she told us that the vehicle was running great, she just wanted something newWe were willing to take the vehicle back on trade but due to her very poor credit score, she needed a down payment and would had an increase in her payment. After she declined the offer for the new car we made a new appointment for her to get her car looked at, once again she did not show up for the appointmentBecause she never made her appointments we couldn't determine if anything was even wrong with the carI was even going to help her get extended coverage on her warranty, but we couldn't do it because we didn't know what was wrong with the car.It is the opinion of our dealership that she was unhappy with the vehicle that she purchasedJust didn't want it anymoreAt this time I will not issue a refund or a replacement.Regards, *** ***Mileground Pre-Owned Motors

I am not in agreement with Mileground Pre- Owned motors responseIn their response they say I told them I had an anti-freeze leak and he told me not to drive because it would mess up the motorThat is informationHe also stated that I cancelled multiple appointments is as wellI went to three different of his mechanics before it been weeks later and they still had no solutionI missed my second or third appointment after I drove to PA continuously and they still had no solutionI missed the appointment one time and had called Frank to reschedule and I could never get back in touch with himNot to mention they communicated between each other before anything was told to me, and I had to stay on them about getting things doneHe mentions that it was finally decided that it was a leak, but it is now april and they just discovered what the issue was and it was not a small leakhe never scheduled a repair which is why I didnt appear for one, he just now fixed the car without my authorizationi am just now getting things done because this is how long he has taken and how much I have run around to his different mechanics trying to discover the issue and where it was coming fromi did look into trading in the vehicle, but he said that I told them the vehicle was running great and nothing was wrong with it, but I did not say that because in his complaint he mentioned how he knew what was wrong with the car and that I did not show up for the repair service so how could the car have been running great and he already knew about the leakthey were going to trade the car but wanted to increase my car from $to $and put down a new depositthat did not make sense being as thou this car was not paid offand they had never fixed the problemthey were horrible at communicating until I brought in the idea of getting a new cari declined the offer, and he did not schedule me for a fixit was days later that I called again complaining about the sitaution and I went to the dealer in ***they told me nothing was wrong with my car and I knew that was so they told me to keep putting antifreeze in the car in which I did and I have recepits to show for themthe next time my car was in the shop was when it had turned off on me and ed told me to tow it there and they have had my care ever sinceand they even tried to tell me that nothing was wrong with my carhe also mentioned at the end that because I never made appointment they couldnt determine what was wrong with my carbut that was self-contradiction and also because he already mentioned he knew what was wrong with the cari also have a letter from the warranty company, THEY were going to extend it because they also knew about the leakso he is lying about a lot of the information, and its contradictoryand I have evidence of the appointments I did make. thank you,*** ***

We at tricks of the Trade stand behind the first responseThe prerequisites for the contract were never preformed by the owner as supplied in *** responseProof of the documentation was suppliedAs for the other matters, the bis was not lateIt was around a $38,bid submitted 9-There was a request to change the bid and on 10/another bid was submittedThere were subsequently many more additions and changes and the end bid before the *** revision (the bid that was not affordable) was around $161,There is no mistakes in the bid that can miscount $120,dollars in changesIn Fact the reason and truth is that the ***'s were adding work and bid after bid was submitted to satisfy the wants and needs they were asking forbid changes were done for the *** familyThe final bid was submitted 12/Tricks of the Trade was in no way the cause of the extensionsThe final bid was around $106,000. There was never an intervention for Tricks of the Trade, that statement is false. The no call after settlement until after the new year was falseIn fact I personally called Dale on December to discuss things. As for the no show to the cabinet companyThey had an appointment with a lady and came on time, discussed cabinets and ultimately decided on cabinetsI was not needed there and the workingI told them I would try to make it to assist them and was unable to meet them and contacted the to let them know all I need to do is follow up with the cabinet company and them afterTricks of the Trade did do thatThe allegations of missed appointment and waiting is in fact false. The contract clearly states the asbestos and drawling as part of the owners responsibility and Tricks of the Trade woukd assist in the process and had all the companies needed but was not going to pay for non reimbursable items that are not in the contract. The Business license and insurance has to be submitted with the initial bid for the Bank to approve any quotesThe proper credentials were submitted and in fact Tricks of the Trade had to renew the license early to make certain we would have a valid license for the next year since the settlement was nov and the bank did not thing the completion would be less then the next yearSo this statement was also false.Tricks of the Trade is not in business nor are they partnered with agent in any way. Sincerely,*** ***Tricks of the Trade

Tricks of the Trade had informed the customer the house was located in the historic district and that the committee in charge of it requires a detailed plan to go before review before a permit can be issued for any exterior changes which includes work to be performedThis was in Sept30th
months before settlementI also informed the realtor, HUD consultant and the mortgage companyI also informed them there was an asbestos survey that has to be performed for the type of work being doneThese items must be completed before a permit can be issuedTricks of the Trade gave ample time to get this doneI had answered my phone calls and explained this to them numerous timesAs for the phone calls after times on the phone with the clients and no change in circumstance it was our position to contact the mortgage company, FHA, HUD and the realtorThere was nothing these agencies can do for this situation other than have us get these items doneHUD, FHA and Mortgage company said if I pay out of pocket for all the items to get this started they may not be reimbursed because they are not in the original contractA change order may be possibleat the cost of $for architectural drawings for addition and asbestos testIt is against company policy to start a job without a depositNo funds have ever been received by clients or mortgage companySince it was never completed Tricks of the Trade was forced to send the attached letter voiding the contract (see attachment) under HOCA line the owner failed to complete the necessary items neededThe clients called 5-times a day and I do not have the ability to answer the phones constantly but the calls were answered until the letter was sentSee attachment above
