Ramsey's Pianos, LLC Reviews (2)

I brought my mother's Bradbury 1940's piano back from Florida to Arizona with hopes of having it restored. I took it to a furniture restoration shop and they refinished it but did it ALL wrong. The color was incorrect, it had not been cleaned, etc. and it took quite a long time to get the project finished. I found Ramsey's and [redacted] was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! He was so professional while also caring and understanding about my concern for my mother's piano. After seeing the condition of the piano he said that he would basically do the entire job for about half the price. He did this mind you simply because he appreciated my love for my mother's piano and desire to see it restored. Well, it was delivered today and I CANNOT BELIEVE it is the same piano. The internal parts of the piano were restored, it was completely refinished, he had found a bench in his shop and matched it to the piano and it was totally refinished and recovered beautifully as well, the piano had been missing the music stand but [redacted] took care of that and then refinished it too. The piano is amazing!!! He brought it himself and when he came he explained everything to us, showed us all the work that had been done, and even played us a little tune so we could hear the sound. He is really incredible and loves what he does. His passion for music shows in the way he approaches his work and I just can't thank him enough for the work he did. We will be using him in the future for tuning. I asked if he knew anyone who was a good teacher and he whipped his phone out and provided me the number of someone who lives close to me who is his customer and is also a teacher. He is just so, so helpful. The people he has working for him are equally awesome. He has an amazing artist that hand paints details on pianos when necessary. He also has quite a few others and each I met was professional, kind, and informative. They all know their stuff and I am so grateful to have found Ramsey's. If my mother were alive she would be so happy to see the condition of the piano now. I would recommend the shop to anyone and I would say that they are the best in town for this sort of work. Wish I had found them sooner before wasting my money at the other place. Awesome business with wonderful and knowledgeable people.

Mr [redacted]'s basic problem is that the value of his product is lower than his cost for his product. Avoid him if you are on a budget.

He came to assess our piano. We said we wanted just a simple, but operable piano that didn't need constant re-tuning for my son to learn to play.
We told him we did not believe it was worth keeping the piano, since there was so much insect damage.  My son was there and he pointed out an insect that emerged from the bottom of the piano. Mr [redacted] insisted that it is a basically good piano and gave us a speech about family hierlooms.

We told him $800 was the absolute maximum we could afford, and that we needed a bid, not an estimate.

He never gave us anything on paper, nothing signed, nothing clear.  He emailed an on-line, unsigned document which he altered during the process. Others should insist on a signed, printed bid.

Eventually he charged us $950 and returned to us a piano which is barely operable, with many keys that don't work.
