Review: In Oct. 2010, Rando Construction resurfaced our existing driveway. Our driveway is short in length but steep in elevation, and we specially discussed with them the need to have traction on the new driveway since the elevation is so steep. To that end, they used a "rough coat" on the surface. Immediately after the work was completed, we contacted them because there was an obvious section (vertical down the middle of our driveway) that was not completed in the same manner as the rest of the driveway. Further, after a few months, sections of the driveway were crumbling, pitting, and washing away when it rained. We contacted Rando by phone (cell phone to [redacted] Rando and to the office phone) with either no response or a very delayed response. He would claim to come by and inspect the issues we described, with no action being taken as a result. In Nov. 11 2011, Rando applied sealant to driveway, in an effort to stop the crumbling and pitting issue. This caused the driveway to be worse than before. It has not corrected the crumbling and pitting and further, it is a danger to those who walk on it now. The driveway is extremely slippery to walk on and because of the steepness, is now a hazard to those who walk on it. We have contacted Rando numerous times to discuss alternatives, and again, we either get no response or a delayed one. In May 2013 one of Rando's workers came to inspect the pitting and crumbling and said there is nothing they can/will do to fix this. A sinkhole has also formed in one section of the driveway, so clearly the work was not done correctly to begin with.Desired Settlement: We have no faith that Rando will fix the driveway to our desired outcome. They seem to want to do the least amount of work possible. They claimed to guarantee their work but have not been response at all to our requests for repair. We want a full refund ($2,950) so we can hire someone else to fix this the right way. We need to do this soon because the driveway is so slippery and we do not want someone to be injured as a result of walking on our driveway.
