Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
Providing an email address does not constitute a contract We did not agree on any terms of service We signed no paperwork nor gave any payment information as a promise to pay I am done with this back and forth rhetoric and attack on my character

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
My complaint encompasses several issues including response time, misinformation regarding how to take care of the newly installed grass, requirement that they come out on several occasions to complete what we asked and paid them to do, over charging us for some jobs based on similar jobs and how much he charge us....I could go on, but why drag this out
The number one complaint I have is that we were told before hiring ***'s that they provided a 10% discount on projects for military and or senior citizens We qualify both as a US Marine veteran and a senior citizen We never received the 10% discount on either the estimate or the final statement that we paid in full within weeks after receiving it. We have never received a statement showing the military / senior discount I challenge him to prove that he gave us a 10% discount on any statement Mr*** is dishonest / lied to us to get our business and then accused us of not wanting to pay him I attempted for a couple of weeks to reason with him regarding those items in my complaint without success
It is very difficult if not impossible to reason with an unreasonable person The only time I've ever been screwed in a business transaction is when I've done business with a self-proclaimed ***tian...I won't make that mistake again Mr*** needs to really work on his customer service and communication skills
I've attached my final bill which I paid in full...as you will note there is no military / senior discount on the statement That bill was paid within 2-weeks of receiving itMr*** is not attempting to resolve this complaint, but only to justify is dishonesty and lack of professionalism and customer serviceMy experience with the Revdex.com is that they have always taken the side of the merchant and never the complainant I hope this is the beginning of a change

Review of Randolph Lawn and Landscaping
Backstory – My lawn was burned by a weed stopper, leaving multiple patches and unsightly dead grass I received multiple estimates from professional lawn care companies but decided to go with Randolph Lawn & Landscape The price which was quoted was within range (a little cheaper) than most and I believed he would help bring my StAugustine grass back to shapeInitial Consult – On March 22, MrRandolph conducted an evaluation of my front and back yard My front yard sustained the burns from the weed killer and my back yard was destroyed by family pets I decided to tackle the front yard first and requested an estimate from MrRandolph I was given a verbal quote of $to spread feed and compose I also received a written estimate of $which was on the front and back of the contract I asked MrRandolph if my StAugustine grass would grow back full He responded that he only needed to throw down some fertilizer and compose, make sure you water it and it will grow back just fineThe original date of service was March 23rd - 25th, 2016, depending on the weather Randolph Lawn & Landscape did not come out to complete the work until March 31st, week late I understand, there are unexpected and uncontrollable issues that come up, I did not have a problem But now in the larger context, it showed contributed to a pattern of unprofessionalismIssue #– Once I received my bill, the total came to $ Again, errors happen and are easily fixed I called the office multiple times and requested that a new bill be sent with the agreed upon $and any subsequent taxes and fees I was told that I need to speak to the owner, which was confusing as the estimate of $was written on the contract I spoke with MrRandolph and the first words from him was “Why are you doing this to me”? After a heated 10-minute conversation where I continually asked for a new bill to which MrRandolph responded that he’d just write off the rest (like he was doing me a favor) and that a new bill would be sent out I tried to convey that I understood mistakes happen, I work for a large billion-dollar company and we make mistakes, no big dealBut it appeared MrRandolph was not listening as he stated “I ain’t no billion-dollar company” At that point the conversation endedIssue #– This is the most important issue I started to notice that the grass that was growing DID NOT look like the grass in my yard I took pictures of the lawn and went to Lowes and Home Depot I even took samples of my grass The managers at both locations informed me that the grass I brought in was NOT StAugustine grass and in fact a mix of Bermuda They informed me that I had problems It looks like the person who “did my lawn” (Randolph Lawn and Landscape), placed SEED down There is no SEED for StAugustine grass and any experienced lawn care company would NOT put down any type of seed in my yard Why? Because there is no SEED for StAugustine grassI now have two types of grass growing in my yard now The manager walked me around and showed me the options for StAugustine grass, which where sod patches of StAugustine grass and stated that they wished I would have come to them first before going with that “guy” (Randolph Lawn and Landscape)Issue #– On May 3rd, I attempted to call MrRandolph and explain the aforementioned issue I wanted to try and fix the issue, but from the onset of the call was met by an extremely unprofessional owner, MrRandolph I was at work and I needed to put the phone on speakerphone… I didn’t think the call would be that long or loud, but of my work associates heard the call and now I have witnesses to MrRandolph’s unprofessional natureMrRandolph made the following remarks…“You must think you’re dealing with some yahoo, I’ve been doing this years, who do you think you’re dealing with”
“You just don’t want to pay the bill, that’s all, you didn’t even have any sod in your back yard.”
“You can’t even afford to get sod in your back yard, man you trippin’” (I have no grass in my backyard…I guess that was an attempt at an insult)I tried to explain that the managers at Home Depot and Lowes told me there is no seed for StAugustine and the job required sod patches to be placed after the old grass was tilled and sand placed on top I tried to explain that there were different types of grass growing and this is not what you said would happen Again, I was interrupted over and over again MrRandolph then said…“I NEVER SAID I’D PUT DOWN SOD!”
“Yeah you just don’t wanna pay the bill, that’s all, I know guys like you”
“You playin’, you ain’t even got no sod in your backyard, yeah I know guys like you”
Again, if you think I am exaggerating, I can provide multiple people who have no vested interest in the outcome of this to corroborate these commentsAfter MrRandolph made the comment “I NEVER SAID I’D PUT DOWN SOD”, I knew he wasn’t listening and at that point it would be pointless to continue the conversation I’ve now retained counsel and will let the courts decide the matterIssue #– I received notice from Ross & Matthews, P.C stating that we owed MrChristopher DRandolph, owner of Randolph’s Lawn and Landscape Management Inc the sum of $We are back to square one with the wrong amount Even MrRandolph couldn’t communicate the accurate bill to his lawyers! Now, his lawyers have sent a letter REQUESTING PAYING FOR THE WRONG AMOUNT……AGAIN!
What this review is showing is a pattern of unprofessionalism and a clear breach of contract I have called different lawn care companies to assess the damage done by Randolph Lawn and Landscaping Not only do I have to deal with MrRandolph breaching our contract and putting down SEED for a different type of grass, instead of FEED, I have to start the whole lawn care process all over againIf there is nothing else you get from this… understand the comments made by the manager at Lowes“No landscaping company or someone who’s been in the lawn business would have put down SEED in StAugustine grass” “You can only put down FEED” “No way…I’m sorry this happened.”
If MrRandolph would have just talked and listened like a professional, all of this would not have been necessary Unfortunately, I read the Revdex.com reviews far too lateCheck out a couple of them and bewareJason B***

Review of Randolph’s Landscaping in [redacted] TX:
Chris was up in our face / texting threatening and accusing us of all sorts of things including not paying the bill two days after we received it. He remembered the job was finished two months previously but failed to acknowledge or remember that we didn’t receive a bill for over two months. We asked about the bill a month after he finished the job and then again.

This review is to assist other veterans, military personnel and senior citizens in determining whether or not they want to use this merchant. The future of Randolph's Lawn and maintenance and Mr. Randolph's business will be determined by him and how he handles his customers and this this complaint and others that have come up in the past, present and going forward.
We had ongoing communication problems with Chris. For example what we asked him to do face to face wasn’t always communicated to Susanne and Samantha, i.e. I would call and they would say that Chris hadn’t told them. We had asked him to maintain our lawn and gave Randolph’s landscaping specific instructions on what we wanted them to do. These instructions weren’t followed and we had to reach out to the office on multiple occasions. Going forward sometimes what we requested was done and sometimes it wasn’t, but we were still charged the same amount. We received multiple excuses from Chris and Randolph’s as to why someone didn’t show up when they were supposed to or something we requested didn’t get done. I realize things happen in business, but not repeatedly.
• When we first met we told Chris that cost was important to us and I asked if he gave military discounts and was told:
o That he gave a 10% discount for military and senior citizens.
o The military discount wasn’t given on the original estimate or on the final bill
o Based on that, the bill should be $457 less than the total of $4,578.98
• In Estimate 1351 he gave us specific instructions as to how to water and take care of new sod. I believed he should have known and followed the instructions. Some of our grass went into shock and died. I asked Moore Landscaping who installed the sprinkler system to come out and tell us why the grass seemed to be dying. He checked our watering schedule and asked who told us to water only one time per day and that new sod needed to be watered 3 times per day in order for it to take hold. He made the correction. We were told this 2-3 weeks after the grass had been laid in.
• In estimate 1375 we had two separate charges for metal edging, installation and the removal of two crepe myrtles.
o We were told initially it would take 30’. Later that was corrected and he indicated it would be a total of 90’
• On the estimate we were charged for 30’ and 90’ of metal edging, and installation. That is 30’ / $97.50 more than we should have been charged
• I believe that the charges should have been reduced by $97.50
• He was asked to trim the shrubs in the front flowerbed
o Randolph’s landscaping didn’t provide us an estimate but given our experience with Randolph’s and others we didn’t expect $250 for 2-3 hours worth of work ($80-90/hr). We were expecting $25-35-40/hr. I don’t consider what Randolph’s did as major shrub trimming.
• A reasonable charge given other charges would be $120.00
• I asked on several occasions if when the gardeners were mowing the yard and trimming outside of the flowerbeds if they could use the gas trimmer and trim the grass that was growing from the lawn into the flowerbed...might have taken 30-40 minutes.
o A separate crew was sent out and it took them 1-2 hours to edge and remove the grass that was growing into the flowerbed...nothing to do with weeding.
• This was a $30-60 job based on other hourly charges by Randolph’s previous charges and our experience.
• I believe a reasonable charge would have been $60.
As a comparison Randolph’s charged $135.00 + jackhammer rental for 4-6 hours $35-40/hr. of intensive labor using a jackhammer to remove a concrete ring and patio slab.... this took much more time than trimming shrubs and removing grass along the inside edge of the front flowerbed...I use the above as a comparison only.
Given the above the final bill have been:
$4,578.98
- 457.00 Military discount
- 60.00 Redefine flowerbed edge (removing grass that had grown into bed)
- 97.50 Charge for 30’ of metal edging that wasn’t used
-120.00 Charge for trimming shrubs in front flowerbed
$3,844.48

First of all no contact was made on 4/31/2014 – initial
contact was made the week of 7/28/2014 and your husband [redacted] approved
the cost of service of $45.00 plus tax. In fact he provided us with his email
address for invoicing and such....

As a result a copy of the bid for him to sign
was sent to him at [redacted]
on 8/1/2014 proceeding the initial service he agreed to on 7/31/2014.
Every invoice for the 4 services we provided were emailed to
your husband. It wasn’t until we noticed that no payment had been made that we
gave him a call: 9/2/14- left a message, and on 9/11/14 we spoke with him and
he stated he was going to come by our office with you located in Schertz, TX to
pay the balance owed. After he didn’t come that day we decided to call the alt.
number on 9/23/14, which turns out is your phone number. When told what the
phone call was regarding you began cursing, calling us liars and that we had
never been in contact with yourself or your husband which is not true being
that we keep detailed notes of each and every conversation we have with our
customers. Being that you continued to be disrespectful on the phone, [redacted]
offered you to speak with [redacted] instead as he is the owner and handles
issues like this.
[redacted] contacted you and tried to explain to you
that all business decisions had been made by your husband, which you didn’t
think was true and continued to be rude and disrespectful to him as well. We
are willing to come to a mediation, however we still need to get paid on the 4
services we provided totaling an amount of $194.84.
