Review: A Mercedes E320 was brought it for repair because the key just stopped turning into the ignition. After Randy checked the car he said that all it needed was a new key. I asked him multiple times if he was sure that was the only problem and he said yes. I then paid for a new key to be sent to his shop. He received the key and didn't update me on the car until I called him. Meanwhile over the course of 5 days the whole panel above the gear shifter had been left open. When kept asking him what he was working on I never got a specific answer. MY expectations were that when the key arrived I would be ready to pick up the car. Then he eventually told me the next day that the EIS control unit needed to be replaced. He tried to order the piece on a discount so he could fix it. but when I called the dealership they said its a part that they don't sell because only they have the equipment to install it. the car then got to the dealership and they said that they received the car with the instrument cluster partially removed from the dashboard. they said they put it back in but then it wasn't working. that's when they told me that only they have the equipment to fix the EIS and that wherever I took the car to before messed it up. I went back to Randy to tell him so we could come to a conclusion on how the 1252$ + tax would get paid.(price for new instrument cluster). he said it wasn't him and hes not paying for anything. Basically he couldn't fix my problem but then added one.Desired Settlement: For the installation of a new instrument cluster to be paid for by Randy's Auto Electric Repair

The customer brought a 2001 Mercedes Benz E320 to the shop with complains that the car doesn't start and the key doesn't turn in the ignition switch. Removed shifter cover to select car into neutral manually. Checked all fuse and power source to make sure there is no blown fuse and that power is going to the EIS module. Checked and found car needs ignition key/EIS module. Called the customer and informed him that the car needs a key/EIS module. The customer ordered a key and it was delivered to the shop. Tried to start the car with the new key but car still could not start. Called back the customer and told him the car still couldnot start and that the EIS module has to be changed. I tried to order the module from the dealer but they said its a security item and the owner of the car has to bring the car in for it to be installed and programmed. The next day the customer send a tow truck to pick up the car to take to the dealer to ins tall the EIS module. A few days later the customer called to inform me that the dealership told him that whoever worked on the car had damaged the instrument cluster. I told the customer I did not remove or interfere with the cluster to do my examination. Therefore I am not responsible for any damage to the instrument cluster.
