Review: I contracted with Randy J[redacted] to build a painted custom cabinet for my bathroom and we agreed on a price of $1400. He said it would be ready in a few weeks and he cashed my check for $700 as a deposit on Feb. 17, 2014. After four months of excuses I still did not have a cabinet and no certainty as to when it would be completed, so we agreed to cancel the order on May 19, 2014 and Randy told me he would mail my deposit back. After not receiving my deposit, and following up with him monthly, I only received more excuses. I told Randy he could pay me in installments if he did not have the full amount. I finally received $150 in November 2014, but nothing more since then. I told Randy I expected to be paid fully within a year of canceling this order. After being extremely patient, letting him pay in installments and giving him a full year to pay me back, I have received nothing more from him. At this point I have to assume he is keeping my remaining deposit of $550, which is contractor fraud and a crime in Louisiana.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive my remaining deposit of $550 back. Contractor fraud is a crime but I prefer not to involve the police if we can avoid it, so am hopeful Revdex.com can convince Randy to return my money as he promised to year over a year ago.
