On December 7th the customer in question walked into store and stated she wanted to return a lighter that wasn't working and a grinder that she stated was broke(Grinder is a pipe accessory) I asked the customer if she had a receipt for her
purchaseShe stated no she didn't have a receipt got very hostileI then tried to let the customer know the store policy on returnsThe policy states "All returns must be accompanied by a receipt and must be returned within five days of the date on the receiptNo cash refundsIn store credit onlyCashiers have the right to decline any return they deem suspicious." This policy is posted multiple places in storeWe also have signs in many places stating we do not take returns on pipes and pipe accessoriesIncluding the pipe case from were the customer got the grinder in questionAfter I informed her of the stores return policy she got even more angryI wanted to try to help somehow so I asked to look at the broken itemsI inspected the lighter and found it to be brokenI then offered to exchange the lighter with a working one of the same type to try and keep a customer despite store policy stating I shouldn't accept the return at allI grabbed a lighter of same type and made sure it was working before I exchanged itI then inspected the grinder and it appeared to be broke and it had small amounts of plant residue on itI then told her that we can not exchange the grinder and apologized for the inconvenienceShe then slammed the grinder down on our glass case and proceeded to scream and swear at meShe got so belligerent I had to ask her to leave the storeShe cursed and hollered all the way out the doorEven when she was swearing at me I spoke to her using only respect and only called her ma'amEven when she was being so verbally abusive to meShe did call about an hour later still cussing and stated the new lighter I gave her was now brokenI told her that I could no longer help her due to her behaviorI also told her that behavior was unacceptable and that she was no longer welcome in the storeShe then threatened to report us to the Revdex.comI told her to have a nice day and hung up the phone because I did not want to engage her any further
