I remember MrB*** coming in for oil change and the job was done the same way we did thousands before, came back complaining about
transfluid was low and he added qtsto it, I explained to him that we did not do anything with the transmission, but will be glad to check the problem for him, He claimed that the car is under warranty and he will take it to the dealer, we did a quick check on it but he would not wait for us to do what we need to, we checked the oil plug and the oil filter they looked good but he added two qts of transmission fluid in it as we were told by him if any oil was spilled it was done by him, reason is if we did that we would have cleaned it before let him go
if there was a problem that we caused I would have been glad to take care of it, but he would not wait

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When I took my car into Rapid there was no oil all over my engine, and my car was not hesitatingRapid did say I had an oil pan leak and wanted to charge me to fix itVanDevere found no leak in my oil panSo Rapid lied about itI don't expect that they will refund me any monies since they have been dishonest with me to begin withBut since I can't prove it, if you can just post this complaint so that others aren't deceived by them that will be enough
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/11/24) */
We are very sorry he feel that way, he has been coming to our shop since If he feel that we are dishonest, I hope he will find a better shop to take better care of him, We would have been glad to take care of his problem even if it was not our fault, We never turn anyone away whether he can afford the repair or not
I wish him the best, I cant be very vindictive like he is

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/07/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I will point out a few discrepancies in Danny M.'s defense and untruths.
1) I am currently in discussions with my credit card regarding the charges on my credit card. I was asked to provide the parts that were replaced OR prove that Rapid Auto did not actually replace the parts. Since I signed the credit card receipts, therefore I was acknowledging the charges were accurate. This of course was before I ever got me keys to test drive the car. Rapid Auto has never given me my old parts that I has asked for. Danny told me that he sent them to NAPA and they actually did the work. I never have seen an invoice from NAPA or was ever told that they would be sent away. The second problem is that he replaced a bearing which is internal so two different mechanics have looked at the car and they can't tell if the bearings were actually replaced. Odds are in his favor that I will have to pay the charges.
2) Danny M. and his mechanics told me that the noise was the driver's side bearing. Danny assured me that repairing it would fix the noise. Nothing improved and the noise was still there. Danny couldn't get me back in for another week to look at it. So the original story was that he and his mechanics gave me back a car with nothing improved and then charged me a 2nd time to "fix" the passenger side.
3) Danny and his mechanics never knew my car had been in an accident until after the second time it was in his shop and I had told him in conversation. I don't see how the history of the car has anything to do with the reason of bringing my business to his shop. Apparently Danny only wants new cars with nothing wrong with them since he can't identify a noise and does not want to fix anything unless I shell out more money. It's a slot machine gamble.
4) Danny M. said that he would be willing to help me huh? After having my car on 3 different occasions and "replacing and fixing" the driver's side bearings twice and the passenger side bearing twice, I asked Danny what he is going to do to help fix this dilemma. I had already paid $762 to supposedly fix something that was never wrong and the noise was still there. His response was for me to bring it back in a 4th time and let him look at it. When I asked him if it would cost me anything, he said it depends on the part that needs replaced. So he wasn't willing to investigate anymore on his on dime after he'd ASSURED me 3 different times that he was going to fix the noise. Why would I let him charge me again for work that he couldn't get right the first 3 times. That is why I disputed the credit charges. I've never had anyone unwilling to stand by their work or their titles. I guess ASE certified means "Guess, Gamble and charge".
5) If Danny M. stands by his service and reputation, he would try to make this situation right. There is no way he would pay an employee $762 and the employee got nothing done. So I don't see why he sees it fit to charge me $762 to replace parts while guessing on a possible noise. Don't assure me that it will fix the problem and then tell me after the fact that there is no way to tell where the noise is coming from.
In conclusion, I took my car to 2 separate mechanics and both said that the noise they heard has nothing to do with a bearing or axle as Danny and his mechanics suggested. I've driven the car since January with the noise and had it fixed last week. It was merely a loose spacer on the backing plate with the brakes. A simple cost free fix that ultimately cost me $762.
I researched the price of a bearing hub from an auto parts store. Danny charged me over $160 for the part while it would cost $60-70 at a parts store. Not only did he charge for labor, but more than doubled the costs for the parts that were not problematic to begin with.
I have yet to hear from Danny if he wishes to mend the current situation. This tells me that this is a common practice and that his shop doesn't know mechanic work except replacing parts.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/13) */
Mr. [redacted] want something for nothing, The noise that he asked us to fix was fixed, the hub was removed from the car and send to Napa Auto Parts to press the bearing in. like I Said the car was a salvage car and the insurance co. want to scrap it but he bought it any way. If Mr. [redacted] took the car to any other mechanic the would have seen the new bearing in. If he claim that the bearing were not installed and the noise of the bearing was not fixed, Then I am sorry I have nothing to say to him . I gave him the estimate prior of doing the work and he agreed to it, The merchant or the credit card co. turned him down and now he is appealing it again.
as far as I am concern my reputation speak for itself
thank uou
Danny M.
