A very poor experience indeed. [redacted] was our contact and the account manager at Rapid Auto Movers who was assigned to us. We arranged with [redacted] to transport our daughter's vehicle from McKinney TX to Laguna Beach, CA. We clearly told him that the vehicle had to be at the destination on Thursday or Friday at the latest. [redacted] agreed to this and wrote the contract up. After that point, there were no proactive calls from the local dispatcher to arrange for the pick up. We had to contact RAM several times before they finally arrived to pick up the vehicle - which was Tuesday. From that point forward there was little communication by RAM to keep us in the loop. we did however get a text saying that the carrier broke down and our vehicle would be delivered Sunday evening. We demanded that they send a new carrier to pick up the car - they said they would do just that. Not sure it ever happened as our vehicle was finally delivered two days later than the promised date - Sunday evening, and I had to be driven to the drop depot in CA, 35 - 40 miles away, then had to drive 40 myself to the originally agreed upon destination. Per the local CA dispatcher, the delivery day [redacted] gave him was Sunday all along, despite [redacted] telling us Friday was the delivery day.This was a case of [redacted] telling the customer what they wanted to hear, then having no intention to fulfill the commitment. Very poor business model and an individual who lacks not only business sense, but also integrity. At one point I was tempted to contact the local police to report our vehicle as stolen - in the absence of any honest communication, this would have been a logical suspicion. We had to book extra nights for hotels, pay for change fees to airline tickets, etc.

At the beginning of May 2015 I contacted this company to ship my car from Maryland to Massachusetts. I was given, and got in writing, a quote for $375. I made a $125 deposit. This pickup was to be at the end of June. I was out of the country when I received an email stating that the price had risen to over $500! I immediately wrote to the owner saying that if this was the case, I needed to know immediately. He wrote back asking me to call him upon my return, not to worry, and that everything would be OK. I did call when I returned in the middle of June and was too that indeed it would be over $500. I told him that I had a contract for $375 and would not pay more. I expected him to stick with the quote I had been given. He went back and forth, offering to split the difference with me, which I refused. I ended up canceling the order and found another shipper, which was not easy since my time period was very short. I would not recommend this bait and switch business to anyone.

I used Rapid Auto Movers to move a Jeep Liberty from Loveland, CO to Mount Vernon, WA and was extremely happy with the service. The price they quoted was the price we paid and the vehicle was delved on time with no damage. I highly recommend Rapid Auto Movers.
