I currently service the apartment community in question where the individual resides that lodged this complaint We were treating approximately total units in this building due to a cockroach infestation that was present in approximately 90% of all units All residents were required to do the same preparation that is attached to this email and all of them were given notice well in advance if they did not comply there would be a trip charge assessed Trip charges are utilized to hold the residents accountable in the process as with out total cooperation it would be impossible to ever achieve control of the cockroach infestation With that said if the resident made a valid attempt to get ready at no time would I charge a trip charge I understand that things can be overlooked so for this resident to say only one cabinet was not emptied would be a stretch however also an admission she did not empty all cabinets as stated in the preparation letter At all times during this treatment a member of the property management staff accompanied me to all the units and verified the units were not ready for service if a trip charge was to be assessed On 1-05-and again on 1-12-this unit was not ready for service On 01-19-the unit was not completely prepared however treatment was completed and a note was left that the resident was not completely prepared but a trip charge was not assessed I do remember this unit specifically when she says that her elderly mother was at the unit upon my arrival and she watched me do the service It was January 26th and I tailored the amount of chemical that was used based on the following conditions: The temperature outside was approximately degrees and when I asked the elderly woman if she had somewhere to go she said nothing in response and went and sat on the couch as if there was no comprehension to what I had asked At no time would I ever jeopardize the health and safety of anyone So therefore I treated under the kitchen sink, behind the stove, and behind the refrigerator, these are the three main harborage areas for cockroaches and also these areas allowed me to treat and still contain the treated areas so that the woman could stay as there was obviously a disconnect when I addressed her and her actions that followed I have been doing this for years and for the last I have owned my own company At no time has my integrity been called into question and I currently service over units on a weekly basis I will not refund a trip charge and I make no exceptions for this resident or anyone else Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me Regards -- [redacted]
