Review: Over two months ago, I met with one [redacted] who was to show me a room being rented in a two bedroom apartment. He said that he was there on behalf of his friend, because she wanted to get the room rented. I found the place to be satisfactory and proceeded , by the advice of [redacted] to provide $500 (of the total move in cost of $1200) to remove the room off the market as there was other people looking at the room as well. I did so in cash, but in doing asked if that amount was refundable if at any point I did not want to move forward with renting, and his answer was yes. About 2 weeks later, in conversation with [redacted], he sprang upon me that he was a broker, and that the added cost of a broker's fee would be included in the total move in cost making the new total $1800. I told [redacted] that in the beginning there wasn't any mention of him being a broker, and a fee wasn,t discussed in the beginning. That he had introduced himself as the friend of the renter, and not as a broker. All in all, I decided to not go forward with renting the room and asked that I be refunded the money that I had paid ($500), and I was told that I would be mailed out a check to my home address. A week had passed and I received no check in the mail, only to hear from [redacted] that the check was at some point cashed by someone else, and him and his boss is trying to find out who used it, in the interim he would be paying me back out of his pocket. We then made several dates in which to meet and my refund be where [redacted] never showed. He would either call or text me saying that something has come up and find some way to weasel his way out of giving me back my refund. The last time we was to meet was on [redacted], March [redacted] at [redacted]. Three hours before [redacted] text me stating, without reason that he would not be able to make it. It has now been over two months since I have been trying to get my refund.Desired Settlement: That the company be stripped of their Revdex.com Accreditation, and my refund given back to me.
