Teachers copying and pasting from the internet
I am a college professor and encouraged my daughter to attend Rasmussen for MBC as I had heard it was a good school. However, my daughter has a certain instructor who is literally copying and pasting material from websites and doesn't even bother to adjust the spacing of what she is copying into her class as instructional material. My daughter had to sign a disclosure that she would not steal anything from the internet without citing her sources. But teachers can? This is unacceptable. My daughter is paying too much money for this type of plagiaristic instruction. Someone get in there and survey her courses! She is copying information word for word from ahima.org. Ridiculous!

Mr [redacted] is an active student at Rasmussen College and has provided the necessary documentation for his military discount to tuition The discounts have been applied for the entirety of his enrollment at the College In addition, the Campus Director has reached by phone to the student to clarify the application of the discount Should the student have further questions, please direct to the Campus Director for National Online

I am rejecting this response because: Filing a grievance through the college will take credit for my courses away if the college choses to accept it, this to me is not acceptable, I wish to have a full credit for the courses taken the second semester, and credit for the dimensions of nursing course taken last semester, I will accept the fees associated with the College Algebra and the Structures and Functions as long as they are charged at the regular rate not the nursing program rate

The College researched this student's concernAs a result, we have resolved the student's account balance resulting in a zero balance at the College The Campus Director at the Eagan campus has reached out to student to relay this outcome We wish the student well in his further educational endeavors

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I somewhat accept the response from the businessReason why I said somewhat is because after all the people I spoke to trying to get my official transcripts in April & May nobody told me I had a balance to nowI have not been informed of any balance until this responseI have called and left a voice message at the number twice and still no responseI do accept the school sending my official transcripts to Seminole State College since I already paid for itWhich has still not have been received by Seminole State College
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/07/08) */

I have requested that the Campus Director who works with online students reach out to this student directly to discuss her concerns and potential resolutions. That outreach should occur with some immediacy. In the interim, it should be noted that the College does not have an in-state, or
out-of-state tuition rate. In addition, student loans have already been refunded in total for this student

The transcript had a business office hold However, the college will authorize a release directly to the institution the student wishes to attend The student simply needs to request the transcript through the college website

The College is pleased to see that Ms. Johnson is willing to have further conversation regarding her concerns. It is our intent to work to resolution with her and further document this information within the Revdex.com process.

The College has investigated this concern based upon a message that the former student sent to the accounts receivable team.  After review, the College has issued a credit balance and removed him from further collection services.  Further questions from the student should be forwarded to...

.  Ms. [redacted] is concerned about the back ground check process at the College.  It is true that the College requires background checks for students as a part of the enrollment process in specific programs.  While program managers, who work with students at enrollment, deliver the...

background check forms to students, they do not have access to the background check results.  The College does this to ensure the privacy rights of potential students.    Upon the completion of the background check, students are able to appeal adverse actions.  These actions are considered by a committee that is independent from the campus, allowing for an unbiased review.  During the process, students are encouraged to continue down the enrollment path.  That way, the student is able to move to the next step when prior steps are completed.  This is also the reason that the students are allowed to begin courses while in the appeals process.  Should a student fail the appeal and be denied admission, all tuition and fees are refunded.  Federal financial aid funds are refunded as well.    The Area Campus Director for the Land O’ Lakes campus has reached out to Ms. [redacted] to discuss the costs of her immunization and to address those specific concerns.  Should you have questions regarding this concern, please reach out to me directly.  I thank you for your help and am more than happy to discuss this further.    Tawnie L. The College appreciates the concerns as expressed by this student.  An investigation will be conducted to determine the status of funding and reach out directly to the student.

The College acknowledges the confusion for the student regarding payments and truly appreciates efforts to remain current on payments..  The Office of Senior Vice President, External Relations will reach out to  the accounts receivable office to navigate this path on behalf of...

financial aid per regulatory requirements. This refund resulted in a financial obligation to the College. As a result, a hold has been placed on her transcript. Following receipt of this concern, the College reached out to the student to discuss her concerns and to work toward resolution.  The local campus was unable to resolve with the student, and has encouraged her to take the next steps through the grievance process outlined in the College...

catalog.  We still encourage her to do so and will reach out to her from the central offices should formal grievance not be received by the College.

I appreciate the student's concerns.  Formal grievance does not remove credits earned or take credits away.  The transcript of earned credits will stand regardless of the outcome.  Given that this format does not allow for specific student information, the Senior Vice President will reach out to the student for further conversations the week of November 18th, following the Thanksgiving Holiday.
