Rat Rod Magazine Reviews (%countItem)

I have subscribed to this magazine on 03/06/2018 for 2 years. Then before my subscription was up, they asked me to renew for another 2 years and I did. My last issue was the #56 issue, Aug/Sept, 2019. The magazine stopped coming after that. My subscriptions should be good until 2022. Tried calling the phone numbers listed on website, but ALL have been changed or disconnected. Finally sent an E-mail to a Craig ***, President of Operations. He just replied to me about "Going through some changes" and the "Cost of Printing" and "losing about 30 percent of subscribers". Also stating about losing "Thousands of Dollars on Every Issue". He also stated the "Subscribers List" was handled by a third party and they are trying to get the list. The E-mail was too long for me to put it all in wrighting, but sounds to me like they are going "Belly Up" and taking everyone's money? I have not had an offer for a refund or nothing. Beware of this magazine, they take your money and do not issue a magazine anymore.

I have mailed a check #*** in the amount of $49.98 on April 14, 2020 to ***, ***, Rockford, IL 61108. This is what he wanted so I assume the matter is closed. Please let me know if there are any issues after this.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Back in December of 2018, I purchased a 3 year (19 issue) subscription for my father in law. He stopped receiving them back in August. I've called numerous times and only received a full inbox message. I have also emailed 3 different times and contacted the company via Facebook multiple times. There have been no replies to any of my correspondences. We had a similar problem back when the subscription was first ordered. They corrected this issue by adding an extra issue onto his subscription for the missed one.

"We have been going through some changes. First, due to the rising cost of printing, paper, ink, shipping and everything thing that goes into printing the magazine we have had to make a painful decision. Our sales for the last 2 years have been dropping steadily just like all the other magazines on the market. We have lost about 30% of our subscribers and over 50% of our newsstand sales.
We have lost thousands of dollars on every issue and have been having to cover many costs on our own. This magazine has not been profitable for a couple years now, we were hoping for things to turn around.
You may not know it but Rat Rod Magazine has been run by just a handful of volunteers. There are 2 of us that handled the day to day and the rest was covered by an unbelievable small group of truly talented and dedicated individuals. Writers, photographers and others have never received any money for any of their contributions and the shows we attended were usually paid for out of our own pockets.
The only reason I mentioned the above was just to let you know that we did this for the love of the cars, people and lifestyle, not monetary gain.
Over the last 2 years many of you may have noticed that we have changed to page count and cover treatment, these changes were made to try to keep the magazine going. Unfortunately, even with those changes we just couldn't do it.
We also have no idea who our subscribers are as that has always been handled by a third party. We are working at trying to get the list, but until then we have been unable to keep subscribers updated.
Currently we are working on a print magazine (will not be sold in stores, pre-order only) along with a digital magazine with archives of all issues and other offerings. At the same time we are trying to secure funding so we can move forward. We will do all we can to try to make everyone happy but it will take time.
I hope that you understand and that you can bare with us while we try to work things out. This truly was the worse decision we have ever had to make.
You can follow Rat Rod and developments on our Facebook page. As we have information on the upcoming issues we will let everyone know.
How many issues have you received? We can send you earlier issues if you would like being that we are no longer printing. If this is acceptable let me know and also if there is any limit on the number of magazines you can receive at any one time.
Sincerely,
Craig ***
President of Operations

The above email is what we have been sending out as we heard from people concerning the magazine. I have not received an email from you until today. I also received a letter today from the Minnesota Revdex.com dated February 17th concerning a complaint you filed. In the letter it states that you have emailed and called. It is correct that the phone number hasn't been working since last year. I don't know who you emailed but I looked back and it wasn't me. We have been offering people refunds or past issued for the future ones that would have been sent out if we were still printing.

As stated in the above email we don't know who our subscribers are because that has always been handled by a 3rd party.

In the letter the "Desired Settlement" is listed as a full refund for issues not received, I will need to know how much you paid. I also need to know how many were received to issue a refund.

If you wanted past issues that we could also do.

Please let me know and I will take care of it right away.

I am sorry for the troubles you have been having.

Thank you

Craig
