Dear Mr [redacted] ,This letter is being written with regards to the Revdex.com Complaint that was presented to our company on 12/24/(Case # [redacted] ).Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of rateGeniusWe have looked into the situation and carefully reviewed it to make sure we address your concerns properly and completelyRateGenius provides borrowers with multiple quotes in order to get them the best deal on their auto refinanceYour loan officer discussed quotes from multiple lenders within the rateGenius network with you in email communications between December 21–23, When applicants submit their application through rateGenius, they must click a checkbox indicating that they allow rateGenius and its lenders to run their credit in order to determine creditworthinessApplications cannot be submitted unless this box is checked.As mentioned in the email from your loan officer on December 24, 2015, the credit bureaus allow up to seven pulls or days to have your credit shopped and only add one hard inquiry to your credit fileAny time someone pulls your credit, they have to report itThe pulls that have taken place for your auto refinance application with rateGenius will be condensed into one hard pull within days We thank you again for bringing this to our attention and we hope that the matter has been resolved adequatelyPlease do not hesitate to reach out to rateGenius should you have any other questions or concerns regarding your application.Best Regards, [redacted] ***

Dear ***,This letter is being written with regards to the Revdex.com Complaint that was presented to our company on 7/31/(Case # [redacted] ).Thank you for bringing this matter to our attentionWe have looked into your loan file and carefully reviewed it to see what caused the delay in fundingThe refinance process took longer than expected for a couple of different reasons The main applicant was not on the Title of the vehicle that was being refinancedIt was stressed to the customer that having 100% confirmation of who is listed on the Vehicle Title was very important for the documents to be set up correctlyWe were not made aware of this until we had drafted loan documents for the customerOnce we learned that the customer was not on the Title, we needed to have him added him to itWe contacted the customer on July 6th about this issueUpdated documents were sent back to the customer on July 9thA full set of documents was not necessary, so only a few Title pages were sent.When we received the documents back from the customer on July 13th, they were missing several signaturesWe noted which signatures were missing and returned the documents for completion the same dayWe received the completed documents with updated proof of income on July 15th and sent them to the lender.Upon receiving the documents, the loan was put in funding exception by the lender pending the unpaid $Title deposit and Title feeWe informed the customer of the increased Title fees and $Title depositThe State Title fee needed to process a Title change increased by $This additional $would have caused the interest to be increased by 0.25%We explained this to the customer and offered a couple options—either we add the additional Title fee to the financing and increase the rate by 0.25% or the customer can pay this additional $out of pocket and keep the same rateHe agreed to pay this amount out of pocketAs a courtesy to the customer, the cost of the GAP premium was discounted from $down to $300.We then informed the customer that he would have to re-sign some documents to account for the $down payment and reduced GAP cost, as these amounts need to be reflected on the contract pageAt this time, we gave him the option of re-contracting on the current date (July 24th), which would push back their 1st payment date another daysThe customer agreed to thisWe explained that if he didn't make his current payment, that was his decision to use his grace period and not our recommendationUltimately, he decided not to make the payment on timeBy refinancing with rateGenius, the customer's interest rate was reduced by approximately 3.65% and his monthly payment went down roughly $30/month, saving him approximately $3,over the life of his loanWe appreciate your patience and understanding in refinancing your auto loan with rateGenius and hope that this clears up and confusion or misunderstanding that may have taken placeThank you again for bringing this to our attention and please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any further questions

Did a hard pull on my credit report and based on that, made me an offerI agree to said offer and Rategenius sent me the paperwork to signNOT fill in and sign, just signTHEY filled in every blank required for the refinance and told me to SIGNI signed everywhere required and EXECUTED THE CONTRACT, then sent back to themThey called after receipt and informed me they wanted to send more paperwork and up the interest rateEither they are playing an illegal bait and switch or their name HIGHLY over-rates their capabilities Regards, [redacted]

We appreciate the customer contacting us to review the problem and find a solutionUpon reviewing the information from the customer, we've found the customer was directed to the RG website to fulfill an applicationBefore a customer can submit an application the last page of the app states "I authorize rateGenius and/or its lenders to retrieve my credit report for the purpose of evaluating the credit worthiness of this loan request, and to service my loan if made, as outlined in rateGenius' Terms and Conditions." In order for the customer to finish submitting the refinance application, the customer must check the box to acknowledge they've read this statementBy checking his box, we pulled the customer's credit report and followed the Fair Credit Reporting Act

Hi ***,Thank you for submitting a reply to our complaint response.I wanted to address some of your concerns listed in your previous responseRateGenius is not the company who originated your applicationIf you applied through a third party, they sent your information directly to rateGenius in order to complete a loan refinanceI was not able to find your information in our system in order to provide screenshots of your application, but I would be happy to if you are able to email me your APP ID to [redacted] .Additionally, rateGenius has not decided that social security numbers are not required to submit a loan application, that is federal lawDuring the application process, there is an othat asks if you are aware that you are submitting an application for the purposes of obtaining creditOnce that is checked and the next page is loaded, and application is considered completeThe additional questions are used to narrow down information about your credit history.Also, the government does allow for consumers to shop around for the best rates without multiple inquiries affecting their credit reportThis means that you as a consumer are allowed to apply as many places as you like for a car or a house within daysTherefore if your credit was pulled by different companies for an auto refinance, your credit report will update to one single inquiry affecting your credit scoreI hope this helps to address some of your concerns, but again I am happy to speak with you directly if you would like further clarification.Thank you for your time[redacted] PR & Content Marketing Manager
