In the past, there were false and disparaging comments to my name. This information is posted against my will, and I would like it removed. When I look to apply for a new job, I do not want inaccurate false comments about me when someone "googles" my name.

I have repeatedly been a victim of identity theft and need all my information removed from Online. My name is unique - easily traceable.
I have emailed RMT many times requesting to get my name deleted from their website. I have a unique first and last name and am the only person who comes up when my name is googled. It is easy to see past locations where I have lived and worked through Rate my Teacher. My name and work location was added without my Permission. I have had issues with identify theft for the past 8 years and have multiple police reports open. I want my name *** removed from the past two schools I have worked Semihamoo Secondary and Bowness secondary. RMT having my full name and past places of employment posted on their website has made me a target for identify theft - my safety and security is threatened. I am frustrated with how all of my emails are continually ignored.

Rate my teacher website has my name listed. In the past, there were false and disparaging comments to my name. They have recently revamped the site, but the information posted is still against my will. Further, I am no longer a teacher. I am an active duty Naval Officer with a high security clearance. This site can be used by federal agents for investigation purposes and could preclude me from maintaining my security clearance and ultimately my new job. I would like for my information to be permanently removed from Rate My teachers.

I want the review removed. I am a National Medal producing German teacher who is looking for a job. I noticed the bad review a year ago but didn't think anything of it. When I googled myself today for a different reason, I found the bad rate my teachers at the top of the page. Further down you see the article on one of five medalists in the same school. I am using an evaluator at that school and others in the community as references. Someone is clicking on it so that it is the first thing seen. I had a very good evaluation. Very few students failed my classes. I want that taken down. I have only gotten one interview and think that may be the reason why. That review is slander. My father's name is Abe; swastikas were drawn on the books throughout the year there.

My Identity was used without consent and although it is public information, this is a site that profits from advertising. I do not consent to my identity being used in this manner.
This site encourages poor character development among elementary students; allowing defamation of teachers without reasonable cause or accountability. Further, these actions could be potentially damaging to teacher reputations and careers.
A resolution would include the removal of my name from this site and no further use of it.
I have left numerous messages in regards to the information that is being posted is inaccurate. Never a reply back from them.
I have left numerous messages and not one has been answered. The review that has been submitted is wrong. For starters it says I don't use calculators when I am a science teacher and use them everyday. I would like my name removed from their website, as I find it exposes sensitive information. I recently had a great rating but those ratings went away and now I only have one rating and it's negative. It's harmful to myself and others when incorrect information is posted and I am not allowed to defend myself in return.

Since this site updated platform, my good rating shows an unflattering false rating. Computer glitch? Staff won't remedy this or reply to my messages.
Since this site has updated, the one and only rating I had on this site seemed to become inversely low due to a glitch in the computer. For example, it used to say I was 5/5 helpful and now it says 1/5... it is the inverse score of what it was before.
Secondly, I really should not even have my name on this site because I do not still work at the school under which I am listed. I would prefer to have my name altogether removed from this site.
This site has falsely presented me as unintelligent and unhelpful, which causes me so much distress as a passionate, caring teacher. I worry that colleagues, friends, future students, and their parents will form this bias against me if they google my name (I have an uncommon last name, so it is hard to even bury this poor rating). I feel this is defamatory... and unjust because the lone student who rated me many years ago wrote a positive rating.

I wish to pursue another career and have contacted RMT multiple times to request that they remove any references to me, but they have ignored me.
This company, by leaving references to me up on their site despite my repeated requests, including in a letter, to take the references and comments down, is in effect making negative statements about my work ethic overall. I have informed them that I have left teaching to pursue a career in law, and yet they ignore my requests to take down comments at:

This company has not contacted me concerning a rating that is false and clearly against the site guidelines. The post has been flagged repeatedly by different people and there has been no moderation. The individual responsible for the post has tried to contact this company to have their rating removed. All to no avail. No response, nothing. The false rating is still on the site.

This website allows people to "review" educators without any guidelines. People are harassing me and writing inaccurate and inappropriate things.
I flagged several reviews on this website since I felt that they fell under "harassment" which is stated in the site guidelines, is not tolerated. However, this was months ago, and when I go to flag them again it says that this is being looked into, yet nothing is being done! This is libel and defamation of character. I have also requested for my name to be removed from the site and have never received a reply.
I need this business to be accountable for what they are doing. They need to actually adhere to their own guidelines and not allow professional people to be harassed online by completely unfounded reviews. They also need to answer their emails. They need to remove my name from their website or I will be pressing charges.

Please note that the entire site will relaunch in March 2019 with an entirely new set of questions. The general comment category will no longer appear, and all comments prior to the relaunch will not appear on the new site.

They have an option to "Please Remove My Name", which is a clear guarantee that if I select it, then they will "Please Remove My Name". Via email I have requested ratemyteacher remove my name & a profanity & threat posted aboutme. My emails have not been returned & post remains up.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any distress this *** have caused.
The site was acquired by new owners in late 2018. Based on consultation with developmental psychologists, educators, and student surveys, we are relaunching in mid-March with a new survey that we believe will produce much more useful results for students and teachers.
A human moderation team which reviews all comments prior to posting began transitioning to the new site in December. Technical problems with the prior codebase allowed certain unmoderated comments to publish prior to moderation, which in many cases violated our Terms and Conditions policies. That was the error that allowed the utterly unacceptable post you referenced. As such, comments posted from December on have been removed in an abundance of caution.
The new site will bring over the existing ratings, but not the existing comments. We hope you and your students will visit the new Rate My Teachers when it launches and find it as useful as students tell is it will be.

Rate My Teacher allows comments to be "flagged" for inappropriateness, such as vulgarity . I flagged a misogynistic comment ..They NEVER removed it.
On Feb. 2018 a student slandered me by calling me a misogynistic name. It was never removed. I have been slandered by students often because they can post anonymously.
REMOVE MY NAME FROM RATE MY TEACHER. IT IS DAMAGING AND SLANDEROUS TO MY REPUTATION. REMOVE THE DEGRADING SEXIST COMMENT.

RMT was purchased from its original owner in late 2018, and will be relaunched in mid-March with an entirely new look and more pragmatically-focused approach. The new ownership does not believe that generalized comments are particularly useful to students (or teachers), and when the site is relaunched none of the comments currently on the site will appear.
You will still maintain your 4.5/5 star rating under the previous ratings, but as a courtesy we have removed all of the comments from your entry so they will no longer appear prior to the relaunch.

I have sent via email a question regarding what caused my rating to be removed and am not receiving a response. Please assist so I may have resolution.

This company lets people who may or may not know a teacher, write a review of practice, without a name. This can be detrimental to a teacher's career.
This web site allows people to post information regarding teachers without leaving a name or contact information. The teachers have no recourse. These people, with no name or contact information, could be disgruntled parents or someone the teacher doesn't know; anyone! The information on the site is not accurate. There are teachers that have been gone for 10+ years, and some that have never worked at our school.I have tried to remove my name from the site to no avail.

It appears to click-farm a lot, which really makes it seem like someone is trying to either con advertisers out of their money, or transform Ratemyteachers into an extortion racket based around reputation attacks, neither possibility being too ethical. The number of views since 2015 has remained constant, but the number of ratings, especially ratings of current teachers at schools I've analyzed, has plummeted since 2010. This suggests that someone is paying people to click on the site and write reviews, and they're frequently writing reviews of long departed teachers by mistake. If you track RMT's Alexa Rating, you'll see a nearly completely linear increase in Alexa Rating between April of 2014 and July of 2015, which is plausible in the 10,000's place of the rankings mainly if a click farm were being employed and adding users at a deliberately steady pace.
Plus, the legal information on their site isn't necessarily accurate; it's really tough to find a lawyer who'll verify the site's legal claims, as most are telling me that they've lost their CDA immunity by having their own moderators write reviews, but I don't know. A couple of lawyers have told me that it could go either way.
