we contracted mr. for a 30 year roof and some remodeling. he frequently failed to show up on scheduled days without calling and when he ran out of 30 year shingles he stated using cheaper ones. he took a 9600 dollar deposit up front which I found out later is illeagal. the toilet was removed to texture the drywall and after 2 and half weeks we had to hire someone else to replace it. I have my elderly, disabled mother in my home, and my husband is also disabled. when my husband questioned mr *** workmanship he became irrate and threated to put a lean on our home if we didnt sign off on the roof. a door he installed is unusable and will have to be redone.

Hello, This email is in response to a complaint letter filed by *** My company was contracted by *** on 7/24/2019 to preform a panel change out , install a new 30 year roof ,install 2 mini split ac systems make drywall repairs to kitchen and dining area, and install home owner supplied material double doors, and floor tile. The contract stated price and when payments where to made. From the first day we got on the job *** started adding to the scope of work from original contract .Items added Run power to washer and dryer location from new panel, add new power outlet in front of home for motor home, add new can lights in bath room and kitchen, remove existing inside wiring that was not to code and re run circuits, Install new tank less water heater and run dedicated electrical to heater, Skin coat and texture inside of home hallway, hallway closet, living room and bathroom. As these items where been added *** agreed to all added work as agreed to make payment of that work at the time it was done. My company was never responsible for or contracted for anything with the toilet that was mentioned in complaint. The problem came when We ran out of shingles on the roof .I was there on a Saturday working and when I was done and went to the door to let them know I would have to come back out to finish the roof, *** Husband whom I had never spoken to or discussed any repairs with came out threatening my safety being on his property ,and was screaming and yelling at me to stay off his property and that I had not been on site and nothing had been done. Several days went by and I contacted *** to let her know what was going on and that I would like to meet with her to go over contract and where we where at with job and that I would like to finish ,she agreed said she was sorry for her husband being like that and to please come out to go over contract and set up restart date. I went to there home on the afternoon of 9/17/2019 to discuss contract and extras, While I was there again *** husband started yelling and refused to even acknowledge the contact ,When I told them that they owe me $5850.00 dollars for extras he told me to get off the property that he doesn't owe me any money .I requested that I be allowed on property to finish the roof that I have a permit on ,they refused. I don't know where they are coming up with me using a cheaper grade shingle ,NOT TRUE. I have the sales receipts and the delivery ticket to what was delivered and installed, further more any one qualified can go do and inspection on the roof and can verify all material is the same. The roof does not need redone and is very close to being complete, we have the material at our shop to finish.I requested we be allowed on property to finish the roof and have county sign off on permit that is in my name. I was told no that they would not pay for any extras that we never show up and to get off the property.I would like to recap the work complete in less than 2 months time ,witch includes county permit and coordination with so cal Edison for panel change out. I am rejecting this response because:
I do not agree with Mr. statement. When we contacted him we did ask for a panel upgrade, mini-splits, tankless waterheater, an outdoor plug, and for the dryer plug to be moved 3ft. over that we could vent the dryer outside, nothing was ever said or done concerning the washer. We also contracted him to put in new kitchen cabnets, granite countertops, a new sink and faucet. He was also contracted to instale the dining room door and tile flooring provided by me. The installation of the toilet was not contracted but it was his subcontrctor to texture the drywall and broke the mounts in doing so. As for my husband threatening him, my husband told him our concerns and that we were unhappy with the quality of the work Mr. had done and he began yelling at my husband and calling him a drunk. My husband is 66 years old and has very serious physical disabilities and does not drink. Mr. did contact us about reaching some sort of agreement but when he came over he would not listen to our concerns about his work and began threatening me that if I didnt sign off on the roof he would put a lien on my house. Furthermore the drywall was not replaced in the dining room and kitchen except for one piece on the ceiling and there was no not to code wiring but only a swamp cooler switch we had removed because we no longer had a swamp cooler.completed work from contract:new panel installed by subcontractormini-splits installed by subcontactorwaterheater installed by subcontractortexture and drywall repair completed by subcontractorpainting completed by meuncompleted work from contract:roof -wavy, ripples, and dips on garage, noticeable nails sticking 1 inch past roofing all over eves and porch roof. The house and garage roofs are both unfinishedcan lights in bathroom-the mounts are there but the insides are missing from 2 lightscan lights in kitchen-all mounts up but there are 2 lights with no insidesdoor we supplied-installed but the framing is not to code, the door is not spaced right in the frame and hangs crooked and twistedthe door that was closed in was left with just drywall on the inside and no siding on the outside, or insulationkitchen cabnets, countertops and sink and faucet never recieived, never installedtile flooring and backsplash never installedthe contract was for 37500.00 of which Mr. has received 34500.00 We spoke to Mr *** 11/07/19 and have not been able to reach an agreement. We would welcome his work to be inspected because we feel some of the work is a safety concern. Thank you,***/
