I am rejecting this response because:First of all he did not tell me my furnace was on borrowed time the first visit, they did not until the last day he came outThat is an outright lie and I have a witness who was here with me who heard the whole dialogue from the next roomSecondly how dare this jerk reference my income and status like I'm some sort of charity caseI was a paying customerI stated to them I did not want to pump money into a dying cause if the furnace was bad or going bad if rather get a new furnaceAT NO POINT DID I SAY I DIDN'T HAVE THE MONEY TO DO SO!!!!! If I didn't have th e money how did I pay for all of this???? I said I didn't want to waste money that'd go towards a new furnace cause I was already taken advantage of once previouslyJeff told me the furnace checked out fineThe whole dialogue about "coke" spots in the burner is a lie that was never mentionedWhy in ***'s name would I have them fix the furnace half [redacted] then pay to have the fuel lines ran to the tank for a broken furnace!!!!! especially when I have a house full of electric space heaters that Jeff even sawSeriously how much sense does that make????? NoneThey lead me on, anyone can see thatThey misdiagnosed the issue and NEVER ran a smoke testThis is ridiculous.......if there is a place in *** for people who lie and take advantage of people to cover up their mistakes Jeff is headed there

On January 6, I received a service call for [redacted] , OhioI talked with Mr [redacted] to find out what kind of trouble the furnace was giving him and why he was running it out of a can of diesel fuel for two winters in the hallwayHe stated to me that he had been trying to get it running for a couple of week `and his COdetector was beepingI then told him that it was very uncommon for an oil furnace to keep tripping the COdetector, because an oil furnace would chase you out of the house with soot before it would kill youI was told it only happened once and hadn't had any other issuesI then started investigating to figure out what the problem was, immediately when I pulled out the nozzle assembly I saw an issue with the electrodes not being adjusted rightI asked what else he had tried to adjust and he told me he didn't know and that he was just trying everything he could to get it goingSo, I went through and reset everything to the manufactures specs and the furnace fired right up and was not tripping the COdetectorI then explained that he was on borrowed time with the furnace and that it was pretty much doneHe will need to replace the unitHe asked me why and I explained to him that it was a year old furnace with all the original parts and was burning to hot and the coke balls at the end of the endcone were a dead giveawayCoke Balls, as we call them, is unburnt fuel on the endconeBasically, when the furnace shuts down its so hot in the heat exchanger it draws in the fuel out of the nozzle tip and accumulates on the endconeThere is no way to dissipate the heatHe then explained to me that his girlfriend and her son had moved out a couple of weeks ago due to the furnace not running properlyMr [redacted] did not want a replacement or entertain the idea of financing because of financial issuesI was told he was on disability and only received dollars a month from themI understood because we deal with a lot of customers on fixed incomesHe then had asked if I could tie back into the oil line he had cut off to tie into the can in the hallwayWe were swamped with service calls and I told him we would have to schedule this because it would require an extra handI called the office and scheduled him for January 10,The day before we were supposed to come back he called the office and said while we were there he wondered if we could fix his friends furnace in the same parkThey were both on the schedule for January 10, We went back on the 10th and tied back in from tank to the old return line because when we air tested the supply line it was restrictedI did away with it and used the old return line as the supplyThis copper line was ok to use, I then went inside to bleed the air out of the line to run furnaceAfter a few seconds the internal overload on the burner motor was trippingI checked the amps and it was pulling over amps while it was running it should only pull amps, so I replaced the motor after I made sure the fuel pump was not seized, then the furnace fired upWe sat there for a few cycles and the burner still had a delay on start up with the ignitionA few brief secondsI then pulled the line we just tied into and completely removed the fuel pump and saw the pump seal was leakingI showed Mr [redacted] the leak in the seal and explained to him that any air leak from the pump or lines would cause the fuel to syphon back to the tank and most likely reset because of air in the linesI was told he did not care if he had to buy a pump but he couldn't afford a new furnaceHe had also explained at this time that he only needed to get threw the winter because he sold his other mobile home and was going to do the same to this one, so he could move to the Carolinas with his brotherHe was just going to limp it along till summerWe changed the pump and everything was goodHe paid the bill for today and had us follow him to his friends on the other side of the park, he had the same issue with his furnaceHe was also running out of a diesel fuel can in his hallwayMr [redacted] had explained that everything was out of adjustment because he had also been working on this one tooI went through and adjusted everything as it should and got it to light, then the control was chattering after a few seconds cutting in and outThe bimetals in the control were very weak and would not hold so I replaced the controlThe furnace started right up and ran threw a couple cyclesMr [redacted] paid his friend's bill and was thrilled to have both places up and runningHe commented that now that the furnace was working his girlfriend and her son could returnWe continued running service calls for the dayTwo weeks later he had called in and the furnace was resetting again at his residenceI talked to him personally and had him check to see if he had fuelHe said he did but wasn't sureI put him in the schedule for the next day to go check out what was going onI arrived at the residence and the furnace was out on resetHe said he kept bleeding it and it would only run for a few secondsI hit the reset and the furnace ran for a few minutes and went out on reset againThe heat exchanger was still hot so I kept firing the furnace and found that the heat from furnace as radiating to the old white Rodgers controlI explained to Mr [redacted] what was going on and told him the bimetals in the control were weak and heat will trip it outA new control would be stronger and be ok, I also told him we would try and get more fresh air to the furnace by opening the fresh air intake around the flue pipeIt had been in there a long time and it took a pry bar to get it to liftThat seemed to help as much as it couldThe furnace ran threw a few cycles with no issues, so he was billed and I leftI do not know anything about the floors nothing was ever said to me or the office of any filth or damage to themAs for the pump and the second line, it is the exact same pump for a single or a two line systemIt is the one he has now

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear belowMy vehicle was on the premises of Northtown Dodge Chrysler they did do a repair on it which was the starter was they contradict themselves Uno repair was done the keys were in their possession when my vehicle caught fire. When Northtown responded to Revdex.comThey stated that no repairs was done to my car and that is a contradiction because a starter repair was done to my vehicleAnd it was waiting on approval for a new engine that's why it was still on there lotThe tow truck guy stated when he got there the fire had already happenedBut either way whether he was there or not the shop had to give him the keys to my car and they should have let him know whether he just try to put it in neutralIt was their responsibility because it was on their lot and they gave him the keys to my vehicle to let him know any concerns with my vehicle and they did notThey stalled me for a long time when I kept asking where was my vehicleThat's when they stated it was a small incident not one time that they said it was a fire. Regards, *** ***

The only reason I agreed to the repair was because I needed my car
repaired I still believe that they the dealership used point of sale
pressure to talk me into the warranty. As for me not responding this
was the first email I recieved from you that I can see *** ***

The customer's vehicle has damage to the wiring harness, presumably caused by a rodent, as the harness has been "chewed" exposing bare wireA digital image of the damage was submitted to the extended warranty and subsequently denied, as there is not causal failure of a covered item, but rather
damage due to an outside influence (mice)The customer approved the repair and the quoted cost on

The customer has presented the vehicle to Northtown Dodge and it is currently being serviced.  We will update and close the complaint when we have completed the inspection and road tests.

The starter repairs Ms. [redacted] refers to were performed in July of 2017.  Her vehicle caught fire, on the wrecker she sent for it, in November.  The 2 matters are unrelated.    On November 21, 2017, Ms. [redacted] provided to me a copy of her insurance settlement.  The settlement made is in excess of the fair market value of the vehicle, in good condition.  If there is a negative equity situation on the vehicle it is not due to the settlement, but rather the lien.  I have requested this information twice, in an effort to assist Ms. [redacted] and I have in fact had contact with Ms. [redacted] as recently as November 28th about this.  I have attached a copy of same. As noted previously (see below), Northtown is willing to look at how we may assist Ms. [redacted] with her transportation needs, assuming that she can provide the information required or complete a credit application so that we may gather the information for her.   Please contact me if additional information is require.

Ms. [redacted] owned a 2012 Dodge Durango that was presented to Northtown Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep with a complaint of an alternator issue on or about 10/06/2017.  Although no problem was found with the alternator function, it was determined that the vehicle had been seriously overheated, that in...

place of coolant, there was water in the cooling system and that the cooling system had various leaks.  The damage to the engine was significant and required an engine replacement.  The cost of this repair ($7,793.50) exceeded the value of the vehicle and no repairs were performed by Northtown. During the period of 10/06-10/31/2017 Ms. [redacted] spoke with her insurance carrier, her extended warranty company and Chrysler seeking coverage for the repairs.  It is our understanding that all declined.  During this period no repair was performed and the vehicle sat on Northtown's lot awaiting a resolution.  On or about 11/01/2017 Ms. [redacted] engaged [redacted] Towing to retrieve the vehicle and tow it to her residence.   On 11/01/2017 an agent of [redacted] Towing located the vehicle on our lot and attempted to move the vehicle onto a flat-bed trailer.  During this, a fire broke out in the engine compartment.  No Northtown employees were present at this moment and we have no opinion on what occurred or the cause.  Northtown employees were summoned when the fire broke out and extinguished the vehicle.  It is our understanding that [redacted] Towing delivered the vehicle to Ms. [redacted]. At some point in this period, Ms. [redacted] made contact with Chrysler and as a result, an engineer was dispatched to inspect the vehicle.  On or about 11/15/2017 said engineer performed an inspection, at a salvage yard and found the cause of the fire to be indeterminate.  On November 13, 2017 Ms. [redacted] called the Northtown offices requesting to speak to someone about the matter.  I personally returned that call and spoke with Ms. [redacted].  During that conversation Ms. [redacted] related to me that her insurance carrier had totaled the vehicle and paid her a settlement.  Ms. [redacted] further explained that the settlement was less than the amount owed on the vehicle to her bank.  I asked Ms. [redacted] to email the settlement and the lien paperwork to me so that I could review them and determine to what, if anything I could do to assist her.  As of this date I have not received this information.  Until such time as I have received and reviewed the insurance settlement and the lien documents requested, I am not in a position to assist Ms. [redacted]. Yours Truly,   William H[redacted]   Director, Fixed Operations   Northtown Automotive Companies.
