Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have been told each of my phone conversations with the doctor's office that the reason the $NO SHOW fee could not be waived was because it was my second NO SHOW It was my first and only NO SHOW as the 3-27-"no show" was acknowledged to be a mistake by the part of the doctor's office There once again is where my problem rests: I made ONE mistake and wasted the doctor's time and they made ONE mistake and wasted my time In fairness I believe that we are even (not that I intentionally missed an appointment to "even the score" so to speak) but for me to be held to a monetary punishment for making the exact same mistake as the doctor's office when they do not hold themselves to the same standard is unfair I trust that the doctor's office will not expect me to pay $to them for a scheduling mistake on my pat when they did not have to pay anything for their scheduling mistake Regards, [redacted]

October 16, 2017 ***To Whom It May Concern,This is a response to the above referenced complaintOur office attempted to contact complainant in regards to her imaging several times on July 18, Her home number was not in service and the cell number on file didn't belong to herWe
mailed her a letter on July 18, asking her to contact us regarding the imagingI am not quite sure how the numbers were wrong as the patient is the one who enters the information into our systemGetting an appointment with Dr*** is not difficult at all as we have an open access systemHis patients can usually be same day if not the next day for most issues, so I am not sure why she had such a difficult time getting an appointmentComplainant became angry when she requested the MRI and was advised she would need an appointmentShe informed us that she would be seeking her care elsewhereIn compliance with our guidelines to confirm she was choosing a new provider, we sent a confirmation letterWe are in the process of cleaning our AR from previous management and expedited her refund of $which was mailed to her early October. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely,*** ***Office Manager

October 16, 2017ID: ***To Whom It May Concern,This letter is in response to the above referenced IDComplainant was not charged for his no show on March 21, as he had yet established care in our officeHe was subsequently seen on March 29, He did, however, no show for his
appointment on April 27, 2017, which was scheduled on April 4, Clearly longer than the days he is referencing in his complaintThe no show fee is $and he owes a co-pay of $This balance is well over days and is subject to collections per our financial policy which was signed on March 29, by complainant. If you have further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Sincerely, *** ***Office Manager

I believe there is some confusion in regards to the No Show Fee #reference. There are three levels of no shows in our billing system. The first is for $(NSF#1), the second for $(NSF#2) and the 3rd (NSF#3). As previously shown, the no show fee was charged for missed appointment dated 04/27/17. There is not a charge placed on the account for the 3/21/appointment due to the miscommunication. We do sent out reminder emails and text messages for appointments several days in advance and the day of the appointment. I apologize for the first error and again there was not a fee assessed for thatIn regards to nurse visit appointments, we do not schedule those appointments until the patient walks into the clinic as they are on a walk in basis

I am rejecting this response because:The initial appointment that the business is claiming that I missed was as a result of a mistake made by their employee which they acknowledged to me on multiple occasions. The second appointment they are claiming I missed was actually the first and only one that I missed (I have never claimed to not have missed that one) which is why on my statement of account I received from them it notes 04/27/NSF#(not NSF#2) which is clearly a reference to my No Show Fee #even though it is a month after the date they claim I missed a first appointment. My statement shows no other missed appointments. So, I showed up to a lab appointment in march before my march 29th appointment as I was told to do by an employee of theirs however when I showed up they didn't have me on the schedule. They young lady sitting next to the lady who was helping me remembered my last name and acknowledged that she was the one who scheduled my appointment and also acknowledged that she had actually scheduled my appointment on a different date than what she told me. After she very politely apologized for her mistake she told me the date she actually scheduled me for and I came back that day. That is where we are currently at. They made a mistake and wasted my time and I made a mistake and wasted their time so as far as I am concerned we are evenWhen I mentioned to their billing department that I thought that both mistakes should cancel each other out and questioned why their time was worth something but mine wasn't I was told "you signed on with us we didn't sign up with you". I even went so far as to ask "how will you compensate me if I show up on time and I am not seen for minutes until after my scheduled time?" and the response was "We won'tAgain, you signed on with our policy we didn't sign on with yours". One again I do not dispute the $copay and will gladly pay it.

I am rejecting this response because: I have been told each of my 3 phone conversations with the doctor's office that the reason the $50.00 NO SHOW fee could not be waived was because it was my second NO SHOW.  It was my first and only NO SHOW as the 3-27-17 "no show" was acknowledged to be a mistake by the part of the doctor's office.  There once again is where my problem rests: I made ONE mistake and wasted the doctor's time and they made ONE mistake and wasted my time.  In fairness I believe that we are even (not that I intentionally missed an appointment to "even the score" so to speak) but for me to be held to a monetary punishment for making the exact same mistake as the doctor's office when they do not hold themselves to the same standard is unfair.  I trust that the doctor's office will not expect me to pay $50.00 to them for a scheduling mistake on my pat when they did not have to pay anything for their scheduling mistake.
