CUSTOMER TOWN VEHICLE UP HERE 2-13-15 FOR THE TRUCK NOT WORKING WE DIAGNOSED AND TRIED TO CALL CUSTOMER BUT WAS PROVIDED A WRONG NUMBER. SEVERAL MONTHS WENT BY WITH NO WORD FROM THE CUSTOMER. THERE WAS NO MESSAGES AT ALL. ON AUG 3 2015 CUSTOMER FINALLY CAME INTO THE SHOP AND WE TOLD HIM HIS ENGINE WAS NO GOOD AND IT NEEDED TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED. HE ASKED TO GET IT REBUILT SINCE IT WAS NOT AS EXPENSIVE. WE TOLD HIM THE AMOUNT WOULD BE AROUND 3800 AND THAT WE NEEDED A DEPOSIT SINCE IT HAD SAT HERE SO LONG WITH NO WORD. HE PAID A DEPOSIT OF A THIRD OF THE AMOUNT AND WE TOLD THE CUSTOMER THAT WE WOULD PUT HIM IN LINE FOR THE WORK NEEDED AND INFORMED HIM WE HAD 3 OTHER MOTOR JOBS AHEAD OF HIM WHICH HE WAS FINE WITH. DURING THE MANY MONTHS IT WAS HERE THE TRUCK WAS BROKEN IN TO AND IT WAS NOT DUE TO OUR NEGLIGENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS SECURE AS EVERY VEHICLE IS. WE POST SIGNS DUE TO THIS AREAS HIGH THEFT RATE THAT WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR VEHICLES LEFT ON THE LOT OVERNIGHT. SO IN REGUARDS TO HIS THEFT I AM TRULY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS BUT WE ARE NOT AND WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE. THIS TRUCK SAT HERE FOR MONTHS AND WITH VEHICLES THAT ARE LEFT HERE MORE THAN 2 DAYS AFTER DIAGNOSES OR REPAIR THERE IS A $ 20 A DAY STORAGE FEE. CUSTOMER CAME TO THE SHOP RANTING AND YELLING OVER THE THEFT AND WE EXPLAINED WE WERE NOT LIABLE HE STATED HE WANTED HIS MONEY BACK WE INFORMED HIM WE COULD NOT BECAUSE OF HOW LONG IT WAS HERE AND THE STORAGE FEES THAT WAS OWED.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
First of all, I did not request a "cheap" fix on my transmission.  Second, per Performance Transmission, I was told they were going to replace the valve body in the transmission.   After having the truck over there four times, they never replaced the valve body.  The original deal to fix this was between Riverport Auto Salvage where the transmission came from and Performance Transmission.  Furthermore when I purchased the transmission from Riverport I paid them $477.00, then they made the deal with Performance Transmission to rebuild the transmission.  Additionally, I paid Performance Transmission $136.74 for a torque converter.  I was told that this was all I owed to have a good rebuilt transmission, which I did not receive, and still having problems with.  What you are hearing from Performan Transmission is not the whole story.  All I wanted from Performance Transmission was a good rebuilt transmission, the deal they told me that was made with Riverport was to rebuild the transmission.  I still don't have a working transmission ? ? ? ?  Again, I paid what they said I owed, so they should have provided me with a good working transmission ! ! ! ! !

CUSTOMER BROUGHT US A SALVAGE YARD TRANSMISSION WANTING IT PATCHED "CHEAP" WHICH WE DID. WHEN HE BROUGHT IT BACK ALREADY IN THE VEHICLE BY THAT TIME THE VALVE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WE TOLD HIM HE COULD PURCHASE ONE HE REFUSED WE ADVISED THE CUSTOMER IT WOULDN'T WORK PROPERLY WITHOUT IT AND HE STILL REFUSED. OUR COMPANY HAS NEVER REFUSED TO FIX THE VEHICLE BUT THE COMPANY WILL NOT FIX IT AT NO COST DUE TO IT BEING A SALVAGE YARD TRANSMISSION. IF HE WANTS A REBUILT TRANSMISSION WE WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP FOR A REBUILT PRICE VS A PATCH JOB

We never agreed to put a valve body on for free and for the price provided there is no way we could. If the customer would like a valve body put on like we told him before the price of the valve body is $250 . We would be more than happy to do that for him.

I paid for the transmission, I paid for the torque converter, I paid to have the transmission installed, and every time I took the truck back, he said he would replace the valve body with no further charges. If charges were to be paid, that was between Performance Transmission and the junkyard where I purchased the transmission.  I paid the Junkyard for a workable transmission, they in turn made a deal with Performance Transmission to give me a workable transmission, which did not occur.  Neither company wants to accept responsibility for this, which is a sad way to run a business.  If the Valve Body had been replaced after the first time I took the truck back, which is what he said he would do, with no charge mentioned, we wouldn't be going through this mess. I'm not happy, I still have a truck that does not shift correctly and will not last much longer ! ! ! ! !Regards,[redacted]
