Revdex.com:Matter has been partially resolved whereas my consultation charge of $has been returned, I would still like to have this go on record so that if any other consumer needs information about this company, they will be aware of how I was almost ripped off and deceived.
Thank you
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have indicated above, my feelings on this matter. However, I want to thank you so very much for your help and immediate attention concerning this
Sincerely,

On Tuesday 7.10.18 a tech and helper showed up for a hot water low pressure issue. I felt in the beginning the tech used his best judgement as to what he thought the problem was, however after a $500 guess the problem was still not resolved. The part that annoyed me the most was in the end he tested the pressure directly from the sink line after the new valve in the basement didn't make a difference which he should have done first BEFORE guessing at an expense to the customer. If he had done that first, that would have automatically told him the valve in the basement was not the problem. When he finally figured out the problem, they don't seem to like to fix the issue but only replace the unit and at an incredibly high price. So I will be now calling a new plumber to fix the issue so I don't have to spend another $2,700 for a new hot water heater. I felt the tech was very professional and knowledgeable, but their prices are super high. I would recommend them, but would warn the party of their very high prices and lack of trying to save the customer money. I also don't like how they don't give you a breakdown of part price and labor. I don't think I would ever use them again. Too rich for my blood.

Review: My father called Ray the Plumber on 8/**/2014 to service his hot water heater that was damaged after a flood . A plumber came and told my father ([redacted]) that he needed to replace it. The cost to place it would be $1100. My father said he doesn't want to replace it because it was to expansive, so the plumber says he can replace the parts for $300. My father agreed and paid him to fix it. He told my father he placed some parts and got the hot water heater to work. Later that night , the hot water heater stopped working. My father called for a second opinion and found out that the first plumber turned the thermostat down so the hot water heater would not work . We believe the plumber did that , because he wanted my father to pay to have the hot water heater to be replaced. I believe that this company were trying to take advantage of an elderly man.Desired Settlement: I want the company to give my father a full refund

Response:

[redacted]

Dear [redacted],

On 8/**/2014 [redacted] filed a complaint for work performed at her father’s

([redacted]’s) house. [redacted] was not present when we performed the requested repair at her father’s house.

On 8/**/2014 [redacted] called Ray The Plumber at 9:45 AM requesting service

for his “flooded water heater.” He was put on our schedule, and given a 3-6 PM

window. At precisely 4:45 PM one of our Senior technicians arrived. After

physically viewing the damage, our technician recommended a new gas-fired water

heater be installed at a price of $1,295.00, minus a senior discount of $100.00

for a total installation of $1,195.00 plus tax. [redacted] stated he did not have

the funds for a new water heater. Our technician then quoted a “no warranty” temporary

repair to remove the burner assembly, blow out and remove all water trapped in

burner tray and tubes, then install a new 36” thermocouple electrical

connection. This repair proposal was presented in writing, and written

authorization was obtained by [redacted] BEFORE any work began. (Attached

Invoice #[redacted])

After performing the above repair, our technician explained in detailed writing (see

invoice #[redacted]) all the work that was performed. He also highlighted the words “NO

WARRANTY,” and made a note that the control knob on the water heater gas valve

was cracked, and wrote again he recommended replacing the defective water heater.

After the work was complete, the technician had [redacted] sign our invoice for a

second time stating “I AM100% SATISFIED WITH THE ABOVE MENTIONED WORK AND AGREE

TO ALL TERMS STATED ON THIS INVOICE.”

On 8/**/2014 [redacted] called our office stating that the water heater was not working, and that he

could not afford a new one. Our customer service representative explained over

the phone that we would refund all monies paid on the temporary repair towards

a new water heater. [redacted] said he would call us back when he had the money.

(Attached are Quickbooks timeline notes entered on 8/**/2014.)

On or about 8/**/2014, our office received a complaint through the Revdex.com. I

immediately called the phone number on the complaint from [redacted], and

[redacted] answered. I advised him of his daughter’s complaint and asked for her

phone number. He refused to give me her number. [redacted] then stated that a

friend or another plumber fixed his water heater. I asked if he had a bill, and

he said yes. I then asked if he could fax the bill to me and I explained that

if this were the case I would give him a 100% refund. A few days later, [redacted]

[redacted] faxed “our – Ray The Plumber” bill to me, instead of the bill from the

friend or the other plumber, that was requested. I attempted to call [redacted]

back with no success – that is where we stand at this point.

As far as [redacted]’s claim that my senior technician intentionally did

something so the water heater wouldn’t work, I find this without any proof,

merit, or credibility, from a complainant not at the jobsite and unwilling to

speak to me in person.

Sincerely,

RAY THE PLUMBER

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I do not accept his response , and his guarantee is to cover his company , because of his inferior repair work. My father had to hire another plumber , and now his hot water heater is working fine. This is my final statement about this matter.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Excellent on time service as always. Work was done by Connor, who was professional, polite and courteous. He was neat and very organized. Connor is a credit to your organization. I would highly recommend Ray the Plumber to anyone who needs professional plumbing work done.
