Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I agree with Mr. Barry Raye’s reply as far as the unit being taken to him at the end of his winterizing season.  It was November 11, 2016, when he charged my credit card for his services.  Obviously, this was prior to “winter” hazards.  As far as the “average life” of the heating unit, the manufacturer says that they still have original units in service, the company was founded in 1984.  So, for Mr. Raye to say that this unit is older than most water heaters is an unsubstantiated opinion.  Thus, the opinion of him and his other professionals referring to this as fatigue is undocumented.  In reply to his comment regarding lack of communication and thinking that I had dropped the issue was strictly a misconception on his part due to the number of calls and emails on a weekly basis.  It was a total of 45 days from the date of the unit being picked up until he notified his insurance company, again of which he originally denied having coverage.  The geography being the excuse for not inspecting the unit is just that, an excuse.   According to my GPS, from his place of business to the location of my coach is 225 miles, 3 hours 29 minutes.  This is a day trip, 7 hours round trip; for him or his representatives to personally inspect, evaluate and determine the damage first hand.  Again, the unit was not leaking when it was winterized and it was when it was I picked it up.  Something happened while it was in his possession and if it had been winterized correctly, it would have been received in the same condition as it was delivered to him.

At this time the claim is in the hands of the insurance company and they have hired experts to analyze the product.  We will deal with their findings once the testing and evaluation is completed. Barry M. Raye  presRayewood RV

Our company did supply the service for storage of and winterizing [redacted] RV. It was brought into our shop at the end of our winterizing season and was completed within a day of drop off because it was a late arrival.  We did our standard winterizing process and used RV antifreeze rated...

better than which most local dealers use, to avoid issues.  The reason there is no sign of antifreeze in the RV by the time it was brought to the servicing dealer is that, correctly so, [redacted] put water through the system in the Spring, flushing the antifreeze out.  If no antifreeze was used, all of the coils in dispute would have been split from the frozen water. The reason we did not do the initial  inspection was geography.   I questioned the cause of the damage because the pictures that were sent to me show the damaged copper coil was in the middle of about 20 loops and not at the junction or at more than one coil, but in the middle one.  The large whole in the copper is also not indicative of a frozen split but rather a weak spot in the line.  The RV water heater is 14 years old and there is a typical life expectancy of less than that for most water heater. I explained the issues that I had with the complaint and did not hear back from [redacted] so I thought he pursued other avenues for the repair.  Weeks later I received his final inspection notice and at that time decided that I should involve my insurance company so they can prove that I am correct and that we are not responsible for the claim.    If I felt that we wronged the customer, I would not have delayed the process by defending our position but rather tell the insurance company what happened and accept responsibility. My company has been in business for almost 60 years.  I have never had a negative scar on our record with Revdex.com or with any other review company. We are proud of our record on customer service and accept responsibility when it's correct.  I stand by my review and that of other professionals that this is fatigue not neglect. Sincerely,Barry Raye presRayewood RV
