To whom it may concern,
While I do not agree with some of the facts stated by the [redacted], it has not totally been that way. The real truth is that I was told to stop work immediately due to a text and circumstances. Mr. [redacted] stated at first that I had a window of opportunity to pick...

up my things: tools, personal supplies, company stock, and anything that didn't pertain to immediate service and completion of his projects. Also, not mentioned are all of the extras involving time and materials performed that were beyond the original contract.Unfortunately, those extras were not in writing. They were agreed upon verbally with a handshake. That work was never cancelled or challenged. it including the prepping, cleaning, replacing wood, and re-staining the entire back yard fence that was on the homeowner's side and top cap of the property and the side yard back gate.
Also, it was agreed to figure out the drainage, the irrigation system, and conduit for future installation of anything period. In addition, it was decided what to do about two the removal of two large trees, their roots, and the trunks. On the back wall, an extension of height was included with a custom cap.
A fire pit was going to be originally constructed out of gravity decorative stacked stone. However, the contractor suggested making the fire pit match the sitting wall and the stucco of the house. So, this resulted in making the fire pit out of cinder block and stuccoing to match the house. Because it is an enclosed cinder block, a drain had to be added and a custom cap to match the sitting wall. the fire resistant half bricks on the inside have to be enclosed and sealed.
The major part of this project was the work done on the fence in addition to the work mentioned earlier, it had to include straightening existing boards that will remain. None of the extra work has ever been paid for.
The items left on site include mostly personal specialty power tools and a stock of supplies that were part of the job, but do not belong to the company. When we were told to stop by the homeowner, he claimed that he demanded the money back. This was not true. He initially said for us to come and finish the irrigation. I said I would-but in twenty minutes he changed his mind and said not to come over and that he would think about it.
So, I never abandoned the job or stopped the work. It was done completely on Mr. [redacted] behalf after I told him I would finish with the help of a contractor buddy. He said ok, so I can, at least, finish the irrigation while you are gone on vacation. His reply was yes and then texted back to say no.
Mind you, I never walked off the job site. The job was stopped by the homeowner.
Sincerely,

On 6-26-15, six months from signing, I fired this contractor for not meeting the terms of our agreement and abandoning the project for 3 weeks. He begged me for progress payments which I reluctantly agreed to, him promising to finish on time. I am completely dissatisfied with the quality of his work and I want him to pay for me to hire a professional landscaper to fix his mistakes and the finish the project he left undone. The weeds have had to be cleared several times. He abandoned his tools and materials which I had to haul away to be stored before the neighbors complain.  Asked and texted him to pick up his tools but he never bother to call back. The stucco he used for the fire pit is flaking off. The flagstone patio was improperly installed and must be removed and re-installed properly. The back wall was not capped the way the contractor promised it would be done. The drainage and irrigation will be more difficult to complete now that the contractor has installed the flagstone, fire pit and bender board.
