RC Appliance service call on July 27, 2015, to properly install new dryer vent. Several days later, a vent cleaning company came to house to do annual dryer vent cleaning. When vent cleaner pulled the dryer away from the wall a few inches, the installed vent fell to the floor. Upon closer inspection, found two holes in the newly installed dryer vent. Paid vent cleaner to properly install a new vent. Called RC Appliance and requested a refund of the $60 service call on the 27th. Was told because I didn't call RC to come back out and repair, they wouldn't refund me for the July 27 service call. I explained I had a vent cleaner on site at that moment that could get my dryer up and running, and didn't see the need to call RC Appliance to schedule another service call in the future to repair the shoddy installation. RC refused my refund request.Product_Or_Service: Dryer InstallationDesired SettlementI would like a check for $60, please.Business Response The customer is correct, and because she did not call our company to come out and verify the holes in the vent and that it easily fell off she voided her refund. We warranty/guarantee each job, if there is any problems or complaints with the repair, we will come back out free of charge and fix the issue. Same day emergency service available. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)My experience with RC Appliance is there's never same day emergency service, because I've used RC Appliance for several years now. I thought my photos of the torn vent hose would suffice. I saved the vent hose. If they would like to send someone out to take a look, it's available for their inspection. I can provide the name and telephone number of the dryer vent technician that witnessed the vent fall off the wall and found the tears in the vent hose. I felt it was pointless to make another service appointment with RC Appliance when I had an installer standing in my laundry room ready and willing to perform the work. I needed my dryer to work. It seems like such a simple issue and good customer service to admit a mistake was made and issue a $60 refund. It would seem to me to be counterproductive to schedule another service call out to the house to repair the work. That has to cost RC time and travel. Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)We're getting nowhere with this, and I understand RC Appliance won't honor my complaint. In my opinion, it's not a "he said/she said" matter. All of this information can be confirmed by the dryer tech. If RC Appliance would like his name and number, I'll be glad to supply it. I consider this matter closed. I know to never call RC Appliance again, and I'll ask my home warranty company to send someone other than RCA to my home in the future. I will warn all of my friends to steer clear of this company.Final Business Response Again, we would have came out same day, and would have not charged to come out to verify that there was a mistake made on our part. We would provide a new vent line at no cost, if indeed it was torn in two spots. The vent lines normally go on with a clamp unless you have an oval opening on the wall, then no clamp is needed. Again the owner would have to have came out to verify if the technician may have not installed a clamp for it to fall off so easily. We guarantee all parts and labor for 90 days. I really do apologize this has happened and I can honestly say that we do not purposely do "shoddy" work. I can understand a mistake and I take care of mistakes very seriously and always provide priority prompt service. Unfortunately in your case you had contacted us after you had another company tamper with the repairs, at that point it voided all warranties. We do this because we need to verify our fault to give a refund. We do not know what work that other company has performed now, and it is all he said she said . That is why it is very important to call us back right away when a complaint or issue arises. That way we can verify the fault and fix it promptly.

RC Appliance was sent thru my home warranty company to service my refrigerator. It was not closing correctly there for it was running constantly to stay cool. When technician showed up I showed him the issues with the doors not closing properly. He went to his truck to get step latter and then looked at top of door on refrigerator. While he was doing this he took a personal phone call. (so he was very distracted)He used a screw driver for 1 minute and then got down and said its non repairable. He said the hinge was bent. He was here for less than 10 min total. He then submitted a report to my warranty company stating the hinge was bent and this was not normal wear and tear so they would not cover the cost for a new fridge. After then inspecting fridge for myself I could not find wear it was he thought the hinge was bent at all. I called RC appliance and spoke to the owners daughter and she said that she spoke to technician and he said that hinge was not bent but the doors were bowed.(proving he lied in his report to warrant company) Doors are not bowed. He never said anything about the doors to me or the warranty company. I asked multiple times if technician could come back and show me how he thought hinge was bent because that is what he put in his report and show me how the thought doors were bowed. They refused. I then asked if someone else could come look at it and so I could show them hinge was not bent and doors were not bowed. They refused again. So he lied in his report to my warranty company about the hinge resulting in them not covering cost for a new one. He was very rude and seemed to be in a hurry to leave my house. I made every effort to work with this company but they do not stand by there work. They only seem to want quick money from my warranty company and my copay to do no work at all. I have pictures proving hinge is not bent and doors are not bowed.Desired SettlementBecause technician lied in report to warranty company about hinge being bent and saying this was not normal wear and tear resulting them not covering cost to buy a new refrigerator. I feel they owe me the cost I had to pay to buy a new one. Which is $1500.
