RC Construction techs smashed the glass of 1 of a pair of laminated glass doors while taking it out of my home on [redacted] and won't replace.
On [redacted] RC Construction sent techs [redacted] & [redacted] to my home to fix the frame of 1 of a pair of green-tinted-glass milky laminated glass doors. I paid them 50% deposit of $180 for frame repair, then techs smashed door into stair rail as they were carrying it out & shattered the glass. RC agreed to replace glass with glass matching the other door at no cost to me. On [redacted] they installed new door. I said it was white, not green. They told me it was an exact match to the other door but had wax on it, and I should wait 2 days before removing wax. They collected $350 from me. (Original estimate was $361 total; they added additional charge of $170 because they claimed that original metal got bent when they removed it from glass.) In total I paid them $530. 2 days later, when I cleaned the door, I saw that it was a totally different color from the other door of the pair. Todd refused to take my calls. On [redacted] I sent a certified letter--delivery of letter was refused. I contacted the pres. of RC, [redacted] (XXX-XXX-XXXX). He came to my home on [redacted] and acknowledged that the replacement glass was different from the other door and did not match it. He said he would get back to me on/by [redacted] with a resolution. I have been attempting to contact him since [redacted] to get an answer re how he will rectify the situation, but he is nonresponsive. I have had two other glass companies give me estimates re matching the glass on the replaced door with the green-tinted glass on the other door of the pair. Both companies recommended that I replace glass on both doors ($2600-$2800) if I want the doors to match and be the original greenish color.
