RC Taxidermy Wildlife Studio Reviews (2)

[redacted] originally left his animal at  a local meat processor whole and not skinned.skinning is not included in the taxidermy cost, nor is disposal of the carcas.at drop off a 50% deposit is required and never includes the cost of estimated shipping cost as [redacted] states.[redacted]...

did originally made a deposit of 372.50.The deposit was for the mont which s 595.00, crate which is 65 and is listed as so on my website and brochure, and disposal and skinning of $54.00.Our turn around time is a minimum of 10 months and [redacted] frequently called to inquire about the status of the mount. He was told prior to it being ready to ship that the animal needed to be crated in order to get an estimate of shipping.  Shipping cost are based on weight, measurements and distance of location to be shipped to.  I previously told him that an average shipping cost for an aoudad is approximately no less than $110.On January 19 [redacted] called my office and spoke to [redacted] to inquire on his Aoudad and shipment date.He was advised that I was gone due to a family emergency and had been in and out.He asked about the balance and  [redacted] insisted that she provide him with information and balance details. He asked [redacted] to send him an email reflecting the cost of the mount reflecting his deposit.[redacted] mathematically took the total and the amount he said he had paid for deposit and figured the balance.therefore sending him the estiate via email that he insisted on after being told that I was not in.The estimate reflected the mount for 595, shipping for 89.10, and crate for 30.00.[redacted], made no attempt to correct [redacted] on the shipping which was originally told to him that would e no less than $110.Something he and I discussed and he recalled when we discussed this.Upon my return I crated the mount and took it to fedex for shipping.at Fedex he spoke to [redacted] the fedex representative so she could give him the shipping total he was to be billed. she quoted him 241.08, and  he gave her a credit card.moments late he called me back and said that [redacted] had sent him an invoice stating that shipping charges were included in his invoice.Once again, his original cost did NOT include shipping, therefore his balance did nt include shippingI told him that I would have [redacted] check for dissents with my fedex account number, she age me a cost of 191.80, he authorized and I too shim that they would cancel the 241.08 and that I would give him an additional discount, and I only charged him 171.00the following morning, he emailed me stating that the email [redacted] had sent him was a contract and that he wanted the 89.00 refund because it was shipping cost in the original price where he gave the deposit.I explained to him that he brought in the animal whole, which he recalled and said that he could have skinned it.  I then emailed [redacted] the following:[redacted]. I apologize if my brief absence from work made this a bad experience for you and for the problems you had with my staff that did not clearly specify shipping and crating. Your work order clearly shows what you paid the deposit forAnd they did not clarify that.  Instead they mathematically added the difference and figured the shipping cost as shown in the invoice which was not correct. I do understand that you made several calls to get an update on a mount that has a normal turn around time of 10 months to a year. I am assuming that there was also some confusion in how long it would take to have your mount complete. You are also correct on the donating of meat,  but the animal was not even field dressed.  The landfill does charge for disposal.  FedEx will be releasing the pre authorized amount of 241Your shipping cost was 191 you were only billed 171. I used my account to help you out in shipping. It cost me 10.98 in merchant Fees to charge your card and in turn pay fedex.   Something you were not charged for. 191 plus 10.98 in fees is 202.98You have been charged 171 and 89 which totals 260. Less 202.98  I will refund 57.02. I will take a loss on my services  and the disposal fee[redacted] RESPONDED and now asked for more than the original $89 refund.Once again I responded with this:[redacted]These are the charges The  mount is 595 Crate is 65 and will discount to 45 That subtotals to 640.  I will waive the skinning and disposal fee of $54.00The shipping I was billed is 191.00 And my merchant Fees are 10.68( in order to charge your card to save you shipping cost and in turn pay fedex) The total incurred charges are 841.68The following has been billed to your credit cards via RC Taxidermy 372.50, 341.60, 171.00Total payments are 885.10885.10 payments Less charges due 841.68actual Difference is 43.42 overpayment. I discounted the difference on the crate for the labor portion from 65 to 45, and The  other thing I will do is discount the 20 difference on the shipping from 191-171 and take a monetary loss That will give you a refund of 63.42................[redacted] only difference at this point is the different in the shipping estimate.[redacted] wants me to honor a price that my temporary help [redacted] sent him via email, but does not want to consider that I originally told him that it would be no less than $110.[redacted] was frustrated because He called when I was out on several occasions and could not reach me.my procedure on shipping is clearly stated on my brochure and has not changed in my 12 years of business.I have never and can never quote  a guaranteed shipping cost until the animal is complete, crated and at the shipping company, because there are many different factors along with fluctuating shipping cost that are factored in.I am not charging [redacted], for anything other than what I was billed for , and on top of that I gave him a small discount to help him out. Please let me know if you have any further questions or need any help understanding what I have responded with.I do feel that [redacted] took advantage of the situation knowing that [redacted] was there as a fill in during my absence.I will do what I can within reason to correct this.Thank You[redacted]RC Taxidermy
