Overcharge
My daughter was getting married in Cancun. We booked 3 timeshares at costal Mejeres. With Brenda, we gave names, flight numbers, and arrival dates. They overcharged for my 3 year old granddaughter inclusive of $556.50. Upon arrival, 3:00P.M. it took them till 9:00P.M. To get our rooms. We had 14 adults and 4 children, RCI had 10 adults and 2 children. Nahel was very helpful and worked hard to correct the problem. We were in the office everyday with a problem. Now when I call they have changed and said 2-12 have to pay inclusive when it was 4 and up just so they don’t have to refund me. Gabriela Solorano took my call and asked for all the emails and said she would get back to me. Emailed her 4 times, October 19th, October 24th, October 28,and October 31st with NO response. Even upon departure, they had to be called to send someone for our luggage to check out. Terrible experience don’t want to use RCI thief’s, or the Grand Padallium Mejeres ever again!

Review: In the month of February, 2013 I was informed that my subscription to their business had been cancelled due to the cancellation of a contract I had wwith a timeshare business called [redacted] in St. Maarten in the Carribean of which RCI,LLC is associated with for timeshare vacation arrangements. As a result of this I was due a refund of part of my initial paid subscription for the year. I was informed that a refund would be sent to me by mail. As of today, July 20 2013, I have not recieved such a refund after numerous calls and promises, as least 4 that I can recall. A phone call today led to another promise that the refund was sent out on 7/12/2013 and it would take 1 to 2 weeks for me to recieve it.Desired Settlement: Prompt and immediate refund

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are in receipt of your email of July 22, 2013 concerning the complaint submitted to your office by Mr. [redacted]

Initially, by way of background, RCI is an independent timeshare exchange company that offers its subscribing members (“Members”) a variety of benefits, including facilitating the exchange of timeshare intervals for an exchange fee. RCI enters into affiliation agreements with resorts and those resorts, in turn, offer their timeshare purchasers the opportunity to become Members by entering into a subscribing membership agreement with RCI to which certain terms and conditions apply. Membership is voluntary and RCI’s relationship with its affiliated resorts is limited. RCI does not own, develop, market or sell vacation ownership. Each resort facility is independently owned and operated. The owner/operator has never been required to obtain the consent of RCI as to how to manage its daily business affairs, and has acted in all such matters on its own behalf, without the control or supervision of RCI. Individuals employed by RCI affiliated resorts are employees of the resort and are not employees of RCI. RCI is not engaged in a joint venture, partnership or agency relationship with any affiliated resort, developer, marketer, seller of vacation ownership or accommodating party (collectively the “Affiliates”). Review: I participated in a rewards program thru Rite Aid that if so much was spent that you could choose a reward, I chose a 7 day stay at [redacted] in the Dominican Republic. When we arrived in the DR we tried contacting the resort and were hung up on and no answer after several attempts. We now we're in a whole different country with no where to go and knowing no one. We ended up having to rent a car just so we didn't have to stay in the airport, after having to rent a hotel room for the evening we tried to make it to this hotel that we supposedly had a reservation but we could not get there we ended up having to stay in a whole different resort on our dime and had to rent another hotel room in the city we flew into just so we could get home. After contacting this company several times through email and via phone I finally spoke to someone named [redacted] who claimed she was the supervisor of the company. I explained this situation and what we had to endure that we would not have gone at all if we knew that this was shady and all she kept saying is that there was nothing she could do for us too bad this happened. I asked for her manager and she exclaimed again that she was the manager I asked for the corporate offices and she said that she was corporate, this company put me and my family at risk in a totally different country and they can't even do anything to help us, she said that we don't deserve another weeks vacation on the company because we didn't make it to the hotel.Desired Settlement: To be able to have a vacation that we were suppose to via the rewards program and not to ever be contacted by [redacted] again in regard to such.

Review: I purchased a resort exchange vacation from RCI based on information advertised on RCI.com. The information and particularly the photographs were misrepresentative of the vacation that I was provided. None of the photographs and unit descriptions on the website are representative of the accommodations that I was given, which were in disrepair as well. I requested a refund of all money and points paid for the transaction, but RCI has been unwilling to accommodate this request.Desired Settlement: I request a full refund of all money and points paid for the vacation exchange.

I am rejecting this response because: I have no record of any attempts by the company to contact me. Furthermore, the contact phone number provided in the company response is "out of service".

Review: I believe RCI has activated a scam policy to raise funds. After 15 years of membership, trading an interval ownership for different vacation locations, they have started putting on the statement that I had leftover points/units that are about to expire. For a fee I can extend those credits. I have no reserved credits/points/units/etc. to roll over. Unexpectung members may think this is something they have forgotten to use or that it will give them better trading power. I almost fell for it, but realized that if I had anything left from 2012 it would have been on previous statements.

Please look into this SCAM before they collect hundreds of dollar from unsuspecting members!Desired Settlement: Investigate the scam, refund those scammed, and STOP RCI from perpetrating this fraud.

Review: RCI attempted to process a 'second-half' credit card payment to pay for a family vacation. (First half processed fine.) Credit card was declined due to our canceling card earlier in the year. After RCI contacted us about the non-payment, the RCI rep told us that our vacation was paid in full, and there must have been an error. What we did not know is that this RCI rep was looking at something incorrectly, and our payment was still in jeopardy. The vacation (a cruise) ended up being canceled due to non-payment. When RCI contacted us about this, we had to pay an additional $2.083 to re-instate our rooms on the cruise ship because those were the only rooms available at that later date. Original cruise was supposed to be $4,683, new late booking caused the total price to increase to $6,776, an increase of $2,083. RCI did go back to listen to the original phone call where their rep told us that we were paid in full and that we could ignore the phone calls coming to us. However, they then explained that the rep was looking at the wrong information. Our response: how is this our fault? We contacted the company and were told we were paid in full - when in fact, we were not. In discussing with 3 levels of customer service personnel at RCI, each higher level was progressively rude and refused to make even the littlest of consolations for us, even though each RCI rep acknowledged that their rep failed to give us the correct information. Had he "looked at the correct information" we would have provided an updated credit card and the additional charges would never have been necessary.Desired Settlement: Refund, or partial refund of the additional charges we incurred due to RCI's failure (and subsequent lack of concern for their customer). Our opinion is that RCI is responsible for any charges that were over-and-above our original vacation price. However, the credit card refusal was part of the problem, and the company's mistake in resolving the issue in a timely manner, so it seems reasonable that the company should share half of the additional charges incurred, or $1,041.50.

Review: I order a rental car from Rci travel on 1-1-16 and the pick address state [redacted] took a taxi cab to the location and he but in location on his Gps and we could not find it it took us out of the way like a 30-40 drive. The address come up on GPS is [redacted] so we went to that location and it not there. So we pull over I call them no answer then I call rental car they said they does not have a address for pick up there the location is at the airport which we pass. I explain that we was in taxi and when u put in that address it take you pass airport. So I finally got in toiuch with Rci to explain that I took a taxi and we went further out then we suppose to. The taxi cost me $83.50 and my rental for 3 days was $60.19. I told them that was crazy you should have stated on there website the right location or we should we pick up rental car. I took to someone and the told me to save my receipt and to send it in for refund. And the day later they call me back and said I will not get a refund because it is a location on [redacted]. I said will we didn't find that place we found the place to was at the airport. When we got to airport and told the rental company they said that not the address that when you use a third party to rent a car they don't have the right location most of the time or explan will should you go to pick up car we we finally got the it was a sign say pick up a dollar rental car counter but my reservation said pick up at Thrifty car rental. I told them that we been in a taxi for about 30-45 minutes look for this place and it not my fault I desire a refund for rental or for my taxi ride $83,50Desired Settlement: I desired a refund for my taxi or car rental the taxi cab cost more then the rental. I spoke with rental car company they said he do have address put it on the other side of building and they it not the fault tat the third part does not tell there client that when you rent a car that you will have to pick up at a different side then he one tat is stated on there website .
