RE/MAX Gold Country Reviews (1)

Review: [redacted] made an agreement with my now deceased mother to purchase one of the beds in her home that was listed by [redacted]. [redacted] took a $2400.00 newer temperpedic bed and box spring out of my dead mother's home and promised to pay $1000.00 for the bed once my mom's home sold,(I was there personally directly before the bed was picked up and the deal was again clarified verbally directly from [redacted] to myself, and even though my mother had just passed away, I still honored mom's decision to let [redacted] purchase said bed) in a lease to buy agreement that she wrote up. The lease agreement fell through on May 1, 2013, and now [redacted] refuses to pay for the bed. I am the sole heir of her estate, and I've tried to resolve the situation. I have agreed to pick up the bed from her, instead of being paid $1000.00 cash, and she has strung me along for weeks with excuses of being too busy for me to come get the bed. She has also referred me to call her husband, who has nothing to do with this business deal that she made with me. Now she is hanging up on me when I call her to simply schedule an appointment to pick up the bed. [redacted] is taking advantage of the fact that my mom has passed away. What she isn't taking into account is that the deal is really between her and I, and I was the one there who allowed her to pick up the bed, believing that she would pay $1000.00 for it at the end of the year. Whatever happened to fair dealing? This is straight up theft, and unbelievable to my entire family. I have kept a log of all phone calls, as well as how [redacted]'s story would change when it suited her. Case in point, the second time we asked to be paid for the bed, she said it was uncomfortable....why did it take her over a year to decide that? And, if it's so uncomfortable, she should be happy to give it back!!! She is simply keeping something that is not hers, and she has lied about it. How unfortunate for her, and a big strike against ReMax.Desired Settlement: Either pay for the bed you took, or return it. Very easy. However, as rude as she is being, I am worried about the condition that she might return it in. So, in truth, I'd be much happier with being paid for the bed, which she has kept and used for over a year now.

Response:

Hello,

I have never met [redacted] or [redacted]. I represented [redacted] (mother of [redacted]) , who was not only my client, buy my dear friend. [redacted] passed away in her sleep about 13 months ago the day she was to move back to Oregon from Montana to get away from her son and daughter in law. I have no business with them, nor have I ever had business with these people. I have not read the complaint, nor will I. Yesterday, I informed [redacted] that if I received another harassing call from them, I will call the Police and make a formal complaint. They harassed the people [redacted] sold the house to under Contract for Deed so badly that they have cancelled the contract and moved out.

Thank You,
