Complaint.Melissa K[redacted] has stated that the person who is identified as the Complainant in this Complaint was not a party to the transaction referred to in the Complaint. The Complainant may be a relative or someone associated with the Customer who was the potential Tenant in the transaction.Melissa K[redacted] was the Listing Agent for a Rental Listing located at [redacted], Germantown, Md. The Applicant was represented by an agent from [redacted] Real Estate. The Applicant through her agent submitted an Application to lease the aforementioned property on July 13, 2017. Melissa promptly presented the Application to the Landlord on July 13, 2017. As per the Application the Tenant presented an HOC Voucher as part of her payment for the Lease. The Landlord accepted the Application and took his Rental Listing off the market. On July 17, 2017 HOC approved the Lease. Melissa K[redacted] immediately sent the Lease to the potential Tenant on July 16, 2017 for final signature. Melissa and the Landlord considered the listing "Rented" at that time. The Tenant was to sign the lease, and bring in the Deposit. The move in date was to be August 21, 2017.The Tenant did not bring in the Deposit. She did not sign or return the Lease to Melissa K[redacted] or the Landlord. After having his property off the market for over a month with no response from the Tenant, he withdrew his Lease Offer on August 25, 2017. In fact the property is still not rented due to the failure of the Tenant to perform as to the terms of the Lease. And the Landlord continues to suffer economic toss from this failed transaction. When Melissa K[redacted] sent the notice to the Tenant's agent she learned that the [redacted] agent had been fired. So the notice was sent directly to the Tenant. Subsequently, Melissa received several harassing phone calls from the Tenant and her daughter shouting at her and calling her "rude". Melissa tried to politely explain that the terms of the Lease required a monetary Deposit. When the Tenant wouldn't stop shouting Melissa ended the call.I called and spoke to the Complainant. She asked me who was and when explained that I was the Broker for Re Max Realty Centre, she said the matter was resolved and that they were working with someone else now. She abruptly ended the call. The call was brief because the Complainant did not want to continue the Conversation. In summary, Melissa K[redacted] acted appropriately and professionally in her relationship with the Tenant.request that this Complaint be dismissed as it is unfounded. The Tenant failed to perform on the Lease she was offered. There is no basis whatsoever in the Complainant's claim that she is not "friendly toward other cultures". She is always polite in her interactions with others.Melissa King is in the top echelon of all area Realtors. She regularly deals with people of all cultures. She is a Top Producer who has been associated with Re Max Realty Centre for five years. I have, personally, known Melissa for many years before she affiliated with our company. We have never had any complaints about her professionalism or her demeanor with the public.will look forward to hearing from you after you review the facts.
