Let me know if you require any further documentation above what I've already provided. I'll email additional pictures that document prior poorly completed repairs done elsewhere that MrC*** choose to have us rework including several other recommendations intended to lessen the repair cost. Upon receiving via u.S. mail the above described complaint this past Friday filed by Mr. C[redacted], I promptly contacted your office to inform that our intentions to strongly contest its’ false validity. Our business experience with Mr. C[redacted] can be best described as someone who “demands”...

more than agreed as per signed repair order which most likely was not submitted to you by Mr. C[redacted]. It's our belief his request for a $1,500 refund is to pay for worn & damaged parts for his car that he originally chose not to replace.I will fax you three (3) Repair Order authorizations all signed by Mr. C[redacted]. The original preliminary estimate $7,365.24 03/21/16. A work in progress Supplement of $3,748.14 04/15/16 and lastly an after completion courtesy service. NO CHARGE! Additionally, to save repair cost Mr. C[redacted] demanded he order all parts himself. His incomplete complaint regarding Powder Coating quality fails to mention that several parts (bumpers, grille, door handles) he choose to Powder Coat were “damaged, dented and worn.” Please refer to photo attachments in the succeeding email. (door handle, bumper pic)Please note, the repairs on this maintenance neglected 1970 Nova were originally agreed to be in a “driver” quality and as we progressed deeper into the repairs, Mr. C[redacted] changed paths and pursued “Show Car" quality which we would be happy to provide if he would agree to pay for the necessary parts and labor to achieve his newly desired Concourse standards.Please let me know if you need further clarification or additional documentation.Sincerely,W[redacted]owner/mg

I am rejecting this response because:
I’m responding to the letter dated 8-8-16. I have nothing further to say on this matter. Walter of Santa Barbara Auto Refinishing evidently has sent you picture and such of my false validity. I ask you folk’s come to my home so you can see first hand my counterclaims against Walter. Walter has nothing that’s valid. He’s lying to cover himself because he can’t think of nothing else. He can send you all the pictures and write all his false validity that he claims from me. I ask you again come to my home and see for yourself.

I am rejecting this response because:March 21-16 I took my car to Santa Barbara Auto refinishing for a paint job. My mistake was to tell Walt that I wasn’t into the car show scene but that I wanted a good paint job Walt asked me if it was going to be a driver or show and like I said. I told him again no show scene but I wanted a good paint job. Walt states that I agreed to a driver quality paint job not true never even mentioned that to him and further more I don’t demand more than what I agreed upon not so when you’re  paying $10,413.38 you have better get a quality paint job. I did not, what I got was an orange peel paint job and further more if its’ show or driver what difference does it make if it’s inferior quality. They should both be good because I paid $10,413.38 I had better get some quality paint job. Walt was upset because I did not accept his orange peel paint job and told me that I was costing him money and time. I don’t care what Walt thinks if he would have done it right the first time. I wouldn’t have to be writing this here complaint and its (false validity) as Walt has stated. Its’ not about the $1,500 and worn or damaged parts that I originally chose not to replace. Kevin his painter told me not to buy reproduction parts that they don’t always fit which is so true to stick to the original parts. So where is there a valid point in him saying that I chose to leave the original parts on and I was aware of those parts also not being in the best of shape. For instances right, door handle pitted, front bumper slightly dented left side, rear bumper has 2 dings. That’s all good I know that and I went with it. But to fabricate a story like that is excess to cover himself he has nothing that holds’ up he’s making stories up because he has nothing to counter on me for my (false validity) Walt states that a completion courtesy service no charge additionally, to save repair cost. Please give me a break. He calls that a completion courtesy service at no extra charge you know what that was. I had to take my car back to him because there where issues like rear tail lights didn’t work, because plate light didn’t work, front left signal light didn’t work. You want to know why he (kevin) fried my wire connection and left it like that and also disconnected. Tail lights missing, screws and the one that were there were loose, weatherstrips would fall off when opening trunk not glued, trunk filthy with thick dust water spots etc. Chrome air cleaner dull no more shine. I tell you is this a courtesy service at no additional cost no its’ his mistakes and not paying attention to details and keeping tabs on his worker for letting my car leave his shop like that. Another excuse there’s no point here he screwed up and cover’s it with courtesy service that’s hilarious. Walt also claims that I demanded to order all my parts myself why not I have the same catalog but Walter wants to order them and mark them up.  Hello, I don’t think so same catalog and company. There no validity as Walt says here nothing to do with nothing. I never demanded that from him he’s lying and further more I be a fool to let him order for me and make money off me when I can do it. Walt failed to mention about parts’ that I had to send back because of his mistake and at my expense and that’s’ him telling me to order them then having to send them back there again he doesn’t pay attention to things and he’s got the gall that I demanded lier. Lastly the powder coating issues and the change of driver to show as work progressed I already stated the things with the powder coating parts. The thing is this my rear bumper has a foot long run. The grill looks like somebody threw sand on it and painted it same with the hood latch, there suppose to be smooth. Inferior work that work cost me $700 and he says I’m complaining do you blame me. I didn’t get quality work from the powder coaters and Walt allowed Kevin to install those parts knowing they weren’t right. Its’ the principle do the customer right. Don’t rip him off Walter says that I originally agreed to be in a “driver” quality paint job not true. I never told him that he’s lying what I said and twice I wanted a good paint job not a driver like he says. I want to know what is the definition of a driver paint job?? As opposed to a good paint job. Maybe Walter thinks that its’ a daily driver my car is not, just weekends so by being a driver he gives you a inferior paint job and expecting you to be happy and lies about it to make himself look good in your folks eyes by making up excuses and fabrication of lies the man is a shyster, lies and crook and tried to pull the wool over on me. My desired concourse as Walt states was to get a primo paint job from him and what I got was inferior work when he should have done it right from the beginning not like he says a “driver” quality agreed upon straight up liar. I invite you to come to my home to see Walters handy work and to show you all the flaws, mistakes and things that he did with my $10,413.38 you be surprised I don’t have any reason to make up things like that.Walter he got his money and I got a raw deal in the process by having him paint my car Walter is not a straight shooter he’s not going to itemize a list of things that he did then you can judge for yourself if I’m barking up the wrong tree or I’m just to picky. I don’t think so not for $10,413.38. I should have been taken care of better than what Walt claim. I would like you to see yourself if I’m wrong or right to report this guy he’s not right and should get checked. I bet he has dirty laundry or a bad track record has to if he’s been treating people and conducting business like that. My Nova is not a maintenance neglected car. Rear right tail light doesn’t work no light signed nothing work order.License plate light doesn’t work, work order.Left front signal light doesn’t work – work order.Missing screws tail lights and loose screws not even tighter on both lights work – work order.Tried my tail light connection which also runs the license plate light and left it like that and disconnected? Work orderRear bumper loose bolts not tighten work orderPowder coating parts, Back bumper has foot long run, hood latch assembly looks like somebody threw sand on it and painted it over?Broke my headlights brackets and my lights are just sitting there loose.My hood on the inside look’s like they threw sand on it and painted it. I had it sand blasted never cleaned it and painted over the sand?Trunk weather seal never cleaned the old glue from the channel and painted over it and gave me it back the car when you open the trunk the seal would fall off.Strickers on hood and doors painted over not even taped, dome light switch painted over also.Right front door not aligned I have a chip were fender and door meet ¼ inch left front door not aligned. Both fenders to wheel wells bolts loose cross threaded and stripped bolts missing can’t tighten any further? Not flush.Grill bolts loose not tighten.Fender bolts loose.Screws and nuts left under the front floor mats? And he cleaned my interior.Windshield pillar posts loose.Armrest screws loose and marred my armrest.Door panels also, screws loose.Headliner made bubbles init from working on the roof wasn’t like that before he used a touch or something because he burned it.Over spray on my whole frame, tail pipes, gas tank, shocks.All four wheels, lug nuts were loose that’s outright dangerous and I drove it home like that not even knowing until I started checking everything.These are my findings what else am I going to find later on. I’m not making there things up to get back at Walter because of his claims the man is a straight up liar where is his pride, quality of work!! You don’t hand over somebody’s car like that and expect them to be happy after finding all this.What more can I say Walter has caused me a great deal of money and stress and left my car in a dangerous situation by not checking nuts, bolts, screws, and inferior paint job. I don’t know how long his paint job is going to last what guarantee do I have that it will peel , fade whatever. I found out the hard way check this man so he doesn’t try and shyster somebody else please the man isn’t right he’s a crook check see if he has prior customer complaining. I’m sure he has had other issues.
