R.E. Stull Contractors

Review: I contracted with R.E.Stull in January 2013 to close in a carport and build a deck. The work began around May with an estimated completion date of 3 months. It is now November, and Mr. Stull has still not completed this job. Specifically, the yard that was excavated for the columns that would support the deck has yet to be leveled off, the chain-linked fence has not yet bee re-erected and the caulking around the front window/bricks remains to be done. Mr. Stull is reportedly having problems getting a bobcat -- either because the tires on the bobcat would not work properly in the rain, or the bobcat that he was promised was no longer available, or he didn't have the money to rent one, or he was overwhelmed with jobs from his new company, Level 10. Mr. Stull has promised week after week that the job would be done by the end of the week; yet it remains to be completed. Last week, I called Mr. Stull to informed him that if the job was not finished this week that I would have no other choice but to file a complaint. He promised (again) that the job would be done either Tuesday (11/12) or Wednesday (11/13). I am filing this complaint today because I came home to a backyard still piled with dirt. And its an eyesore with out of town guests coming in for the holiday! My bigger concern, however, is security as without the fence my backyard is completely open to anyone.Desired Settlement: I no longer trust Mr. Stull's words as they have proven to be empty promises time after time. Thus, I would prefer that Mr. Stull return to me a portion of the full contract price that was paid to him so that I can hire a company to properly level off my yard and reinstall by fence. I have estimates for $1,500 to level the yard, and $1,500 to have a fence installed. If Revdex.com can lock Mr. Stull into a definite date then I would try it again - although I'm very wary of doing so.
