Review: A few days before Christmas 2013 I get a phone call on my cell phone from the company Americas Readers Service asking about my service. I tried several times to tell the agent I didn't want the service to just cancel me out, he then stated I could do that with the supervisor so he transferred me. The supervisor name who is Jessica stated that I had to go through a series of questions and answer "NO" to but still pay for the service. I told her I didn't want the magazines and that I haven't received any for awhile. She stated they had be having issues with the mail service I told her a year and some months seems to be a long time for mail issues. I continued to try and tell her I didn't want the service and she seemed to get an attitude and strong arm me into the process of answering the questions and continue with the services. So after feeling pressured and taken advantage of I looked the company up and the address she gave me is not anywhere on the Revdex.com website or Yellowpages.com so I think and know that I was being scammed. So the credit card they have on file they were able to get one charge of $44.90 before I could cancel the card, then I started receiving notices of the amount owed to them $1,347.00. I say this because they have previously charged my credit card for $50.00 a month around the year 2007-2009 or 10, I was suckered in before and was not going to let it happen again. So started the collection calls from numbers ranging from New York, California, Virginia, Florida, Rhode Island, Alabama and some 888 numbers; and now they have turned the account over to a collection agency out of Virginia Beach (Interstate Recovery Service). I have worked hard for many years trying to get my credit score in a good place and I don't need to have it ruined by some scam jerks.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to stop contacting me put me on a never again list and help with the collection company to stop the process before ruining my credit. I have worked hard to build it up but I can't afford to be paying for something I don't owe . With all the expressions of stop, cancel, not interested I believe they have charged me well at $50 a month they have gotten their $1300.00

So, anyway you can help me resolve this situation will be greatly appreciated.

Review: In late 2013, I signed up for a magazine service with the understanding that I would be paying around $25 a month for several magazines of my choice (did not receive my choices) and did not receive the gift card that was promised. I later received a phone call stating that I was behind on my payments of $50 a month for 36+ months. I then told the representative that I wanted to cancel the service. I have received several phone calls since then that I am behind on my payments and I would need to pay the remaining balance of $1400 to close the order. I received a phone call this morning from [redacted] at the following phone number, [redacted] that I am still behind in payments and I did say yes on 1 May to receive the magazines. I was under the impression that the second person I spoke to that day was for cancelling the order.

This company has deceitful practices and are extremely rude and bullying.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of all magazines and any costs associated with the company

Review: These people keep calling me about my subscription, but I've never subscribed to them. I subscribed over 5 years ago to some magazines through Active Periodicals which I believe then sold my information to multiple renewal services including this one and "Coast to Coast Renewal Services." I can't get them to stop sending me magazines even though I've told them many times to take me off their lists and close my account. They say they will, but I still get called weekly/monthly at least. The last time they called they asked which credit card company I used most. I said Discover, though I don't and never have had a Discover card. Then when I was trying to tell the man I wasn't interested in renewing, and to take my information off his records, he said, "well they're going to charge you unless you go through our recording and stop the renewal because we have your Visa and Discover card on file." This proved to me what I thought all along, that they're lying about everything since there's no possible way they could have "my Discover card" information. Quite honestly I don't know which magazines are coming from them, and which ones are coming from other companies because I get like 50 magazines each month, and I surely didn't sign up for things like "Truckin' Magazine" or "Black Enterprises," but they all spell my name wrong. They come to "Shanon Anderson" which is misspelled and it's my maiden name. They all have an old address for me as well. I just want it to stop! I don't know how many times I've told them to stop over the past 5 years, at least half a dozen times. I've tried everything I know how to do, and it never works. Now my blood immediately starts to boil when I see their number calling on my phone. Please make it stop!Desired Settlement: I just want them to stop calling me and stop sending me any more magazines! I hate them and they go right in the trash. It's ridiculous and I've tried everything I know how to do to get them to stop. Please make the magazines stop!

Review: IN 2012 I CANCELLED A MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION AFTER JUST A FEW DAYS OF ORDERING. NOW $59.90 WAS TAKEN OUT OF MY CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION ON 8/14/14, I CONTINUALLY GET PHONE CALLS ABOUT THESE MAGAZINES . I CANCELLED IN 2012,.I HAVE CALLED THE MAGAZINE COMPANY AND THEY JUST WANT ME TO RENEW . I DONT WANT THESE. I CANCELLED IN 2012. THEY DONT UNDERSTAND. FRAUND AND HARRASSMENT AND IDENTITY THEFTDesired Settlement: NOT TO BE CHARGED AND HARRASSED BY THESE PEOPLE!

Review: I was recently contacted by [redacted] of Collections Incorporated his employee ID is [redacted] in regards to my supposed account with Readers Services of America account number [redacted] started in 9/11/07. I had requested on several occassions not to have the agreement renewed, extended, or continued in any way, and in fact to cancel the services and let me speak to a manager that could provide me with the original recording that had the terms and conditions of said agreement. To date, none of that has happened, and [redacted] has stated that if I did not pay in full the amount of $490 dollars that I would be sent to collections that day. I tried to call and speak with the Readers Services but their phone line goes to a voicemail and I have left a few messages with no response to date.Desired Settlement: I am looking for a reimbursement of the $490 that was paid to Collections Incorporated, a letter stating I owe nothing and the accounts in my name are closed, and to be placed on a do not contact list. If it is possible I would LOVE to hear the recording that supposedly has me signing up for these services again as I was told by [redacted] this was a failure to pay on the renewal of the account.

Review: Representative that was at the other end of the line claimed that he was calling to update information and to see if I wanted to auto-renew my account. I stated that I did not and was told that I would be transferred to a supervisor. Once I was transferred, the supervisor stated that we were going to go through the pre-recorded survey that I went through when I initially subscribed to the service. I mentioned that the service had been obtained via door-to-door salesman and that I did not remember my answers. Supervisor stated that all I had to do was answer yes and answer no when asked if I wanted to set my account to auto-renew. I was tired and went along with it. I have since cancelled the card where the charges were supposed to go to and do not want the services provided by this company.Desired Settlement: I want this company to close out my account and never contact me again.

Review: I have received a call today from a magazine company. They said their name was America Reader Service and they were based out of Baltimore, MD. I did reverse phone lookup and it says this call was based out of OH. the number is 419-989-6920. The guy [redacted] told me I paid for their service when I did not. I started receiving magazines suspiciously the beginning of this year. The guy then told asked me if I wanted to cancel my auto renew payment. I told him I want my name removed from their list and to cancel this (even though I know I didn't apply for it). He them proceeded to tell me that he need a recording of my voice saying yes or no to questions he is going to ask. He actually told me I how to answer the questions and told me this is the only way to cancel my account. One of the question was, at the end of this call you will be billed 49.95 is this correct, and I told him no twice and he then told me I have to say yes in order to get this canceled.. so I did. I'm not sure if I should get a lawyer or not because I do not want them to charge me or affect my credit.Desired Settlement: I would like them to stop contacting me and remove all information about me from their system. I also do not want to be billed for a service I did not want.

Review: Got a call from Americas Readers Service. Was transferred to [redacted]. advised did not want the magazine subscriptions. I was advised that they needed to verify the credit card number and exp date to put thru the cancellation. Then was advised how to answer these questions. I do not have a home phone number so she put in one and advised me in the recording to verify it was mine. Half way thru the recording I advised her I did not want the subscription and was not to be charged for these so called magazines. She said : Because I interrupted the recording she could not cancel it. I advised her I did not sign up for magazines and to be charged 59.90 a month. She said I did. I told her I did not want this. She said I was going to be charge this for a period of 5 years. Soon as we got off the phone she put the charge thru to my credit card. I verified this with my bank. The bank advised me to call them back to reverse the charge. I did this and spoke to Anna Lisha. She said she could not put the cancellation thru for 24 hours until the account updated in the system.Desired Settlement: I want this so called account canceled and the 59.90 per month gone never to return. This is nothing more then a scam!
