September 8, 2015In response to the complaint filed by [redacted] on August 12, 2015, I am attaching some correspondence (i.ecopy of estimate-signed contract, pictures, etc.) to explain the scope of work we performed.We were contracted to remove and replace the shingles, only on the Side Mansard of the propertyThe old shingles and roofing materials on the Side Mansard were removed, the rotted wood was replaced and we installed new shingles as per the Historical Districts certificate of appropriateness application (see attached) [redacted] had no complaints about this work after it was completed.The area that I believe [redacted] is complaining about is the Rear Mansard and Second Floor Rear Flat Roof, which was causing leakageAs you will see on the quote, we were not contracted to replace those roof sections, only repair the Second Floor Rear Flat Roof & Fourth Floor Flat Roof to a watertight conditionHowever as a courtesy we installed shingles over top of the shingles on the Rear Mansard at NOCHARGE to [redacted] , to try and help Solve the leaking issue's he was havingThere were several occasions when he called about the problem still occurring and we responded within a few days to try and resolve his leaking issuesWe did repairs to these (2) sections on numerous occasions at NOCHARGE, even installing a piece of gutter and downspout on the dormer top to re-route the water away from the windowSo [redacted] 's statement about us not contacting him back when he called us is false, and when We tried to relay this information to him, we had difficulty communicating with him.Therefore, [redacted] 's desired outcome/settlement will not be honored, we performed exactly what we were contracted to do (Side Mansard Wall).Respectfully,Scott DOwner
