Real Estate Express a McKissock Company Reviews (%countItem)

Real Estate Express has a "Don't Pass, Don't Pay" Guarantee. If you pass the course and sit for the exam within 30 days and fail it, they promise to give your money back. I finished and passed the course and sat for the exam. I failed my first attempt and contacted Real estate express to let them know. A representative emailed me the requirements that I must meet to qualify for a refund. I then faxed over all required documents to the requested number. I waited for two weeks to be contacted and when no contact was made I called customer service for an update. The representative confirmed that the documents were received but had not been processed. That was in May 2020. It is now July and I still have not heard anything. I have tried calling back but a machine picks up saying "Thank you for using our service, goodbye", then hangs up. I would like the refund that I have been promised.

Dear ***,Thank you for contacting Real Estate Express. The Exam Prep Master Pass or Don’t Pay guarantee ensures that you will pass your state’s licensing exam if you complete our Exam Prep Master Program. This guarantee is applicable to students who purchase Exam Prep Master as a stand-alone program or as part of a course package. Any student who fulfills all the conditions and does not earn a passing score on his or her first salesperson licensing examination is eligible for a full refund. We were able to reach out to Groupon, since that is with whom you made your original purchase of our product. They were able to confirm that a refund was issued to you on 7/20/20. We hope this helps clarify your request and current situation. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns that we could address.Sincerely,***Student Support ServicesReal Estate Express

Customer Response • Jul 22, 2020

I am happy that I received my refund, but it was in the form of a website credit. Not my money back. Please change your guarantee on the Groupon website to reflect that the payment will be reimbursed via credit. I also find it interesting that it took a Revdex.com complaint to get a response and resolution from your company after nearly 3 months of waiting. Thank you.

Real Estate Express provides courses needed in order to become a real estate agent. The questions on exams as well as quizzes are full of errors and typos making them nearly impossible to pass. The course material is terribly written. They do not respond to emails and I have called multiple times only to have the call drop every single time. After 5 months of experience with them and reading many negative reviews, I believe this company is a scam - intended to make students pay reset fees in order to finish the courses.

Real Estate Express a McKissock Company Response • Jul 21, 2020

Dear ***,Thank you for contacting Express Schools. Our records show correspondence where you were able to get answers to course content questions as well as providing a list of specific topics missed on recent exam attempts. Our records show that you reached out to us on Thursday, April 16, 2020 and your instructor was able to respond on Friday, April 17, 2020 with two emails. Then again two email responses from your instructor on 7/2/2020 were sent regarding your 7/1/2020 email. The Real Estate Commission, in order to protect the integrity of the exams, does not permit schools to share specific exam questions and answers but does permit us to share topics missed and answer any specific questions related to the material covered. Please note that our unit exams do not contain the same questions as the final exam, and schools cannot provide the same questions as those appearing on the licensing exam. Schools are required to test the student’s ability to apply the knowledge rather than recognize specific questions and answers. This information is explained in our Study Tips located in your Helpful Resources within your course. Your instructor is very qualified with great credentials. He will be happy to assist you at any time via email or via phone call, per request. As indicated in your course orientation, the primary means of communication for an online course is email, and emails are responded to within 24 hours. Since your course has not expired, we can reach out to your instructor on your behalf to request the most recent exam feedback. We also show that you are enrolled in our Instructor Q&A sessions. Even though these aren’t mandatory, you can attend one of three or four sessions that occur daily based on our July schedule for July (that we have emailed to you recently). We hope this helps clarify our approach to online learning. We also hope that receiving feedback on your recent attempts from your instructor will bring you added success! Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns that we could address.Sincerely,***Student ServicesReal Estate Express

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Sincerely

I asked for an extension on one of my classes due to a medical condition and they refused to help me out. I don't recommend their services, their customer services is terrible.

I agree with previous reviews. Their system is rigged. They don't tell you that you only have 2 attempts to pass their final exam and in my case 1 attempt .
My experience in summary:
I signed up for the course, completed the course, took the practice exams and went on to the final exam. Once you click on the final exam you can not back out. Since, I was into the final exam, I took the exam and passed with an 80 plus score, I don't remember the score (you need a 70 to pass). Later they disqualified me for not taking it at a testing center and gave me a zero. (DO NOT CLICK ON FINAL EXAM). That was fine, the test was easy and I was sure I could get a 70 percent on a second attempt.
Test day, the test was ridiculous. One question was where should Alec *** or one of his brothers not buy a vacation home, completely subjective. The answer I believe was Chicago. In the end they said I got a 69 and failed. I am a licensed NYS professional in another profession. Next I learn I have to retake the entire course and pay an additional $100, not to mention I wasted 75 hrs. of my time.
I refused to pay more money to them and requested a refund. They gave me a hard time but I received my money back, paid from some sort of insurance. I believe they are used to this situation and have insurance for it. I will complain to NY State next. They also said it was NYS policy to retake the exam after 2 failures which is completely false.
They don't tell you up front you only have 2 attempts to pass and allow you to burn your first attempt.
I did receive my money back.

Dear ,
Thank you for reaching out to us! We are sorry to hear that you did not pass your second exam attempt for your NY course. We were going through our records and noticed that we did send email guidance on how to find the final exam and proctoring instructions back on 10/1/2019 to help you be successful with your exam since you took your first exam attempt back in January 2019 without a proctor - the state views that as an exam attempt. Per New York regulation if the registration date is more than 1 year ago or you do not pass your final exam in two attempts, you must re-register and begin the course over. The NYRC does not grant extensions beyond one year or grant exam resets. The re-registration fee is $100. Students who have to re-register receive another full 6 months to complete the 75-hour course as well as all other features in the package they purchased. With regards to your conversation with a supervisor on 10/7/2019, you reached out to us upset and demanding a refund and we were able to assist you in resolving your account over 10 days ago. We attempt to resolve our students issues and concerns that are addressed to us.
Please let us know if we may be of additional assistance. Thank you for choosing American School of Real Estate Express. We appreciate your business!
Kind regards,
***.

Real Estate Express
1) If you failed don't be ashamed, get your money back and complain to Revdex.com and NYS.
2) The system is a rigged exam. I failed the 2nd exam, the first one I passed didn't count. I have a masters degree and am a NYS licensed professional in another field. The algorithms pull up ridiculous questions so you will fail.
3) The response states incorrect facts and poor records. I finished the course and took the exam in 6 weeks total, and passed an un-proctored exam. They know you will automatically take the final exam and it will not count. They are setting you up for your second exam and you will fail.
4) Once you fail 2 times, they will tell you to pay $100 and take the course again. 75 hrs!

I have completed the continue education on this online school in 2018. However, they have not reported to the TN real estate committee which should be their responsibility. My license will expire in July 10, 2019 and I called TN Real Estate committee and they said they haven't received the certificate from ***. I called *** one week ago and the agent said my CE courses have been successfully reported. But the TN Real Estate committee still stated they didn't receive the reports.
This is unacceptable. *** need to report my courses ASAP
I won't take any Real Estate course on their website going forward and I will have to post my experience to all my colleagues to let them aware of.

Beware! What you will quickly learn from this online course is that the chapter reviews rarely contain any information needed for any of the quizzes The quiz. As time passed it was apparent this company sets you up for failure so you can continue to pay more fees to study material that is vague and unrelated to any exam. They profit from your failure! Do NOT use this company-
Talk about misleading practices!??

If I could give this school negative stars I would. I have always gotten straight A's. I maintained a 4.0 when attending college for ECE and then later for Medical Coding. The material provided by Real Estate Express often does not cover the questions on their quizzes, and beyond that it is very poorly written and hard to understand. I have come across several spelling and grammar mistakes in their text book. I have also found that the text online and what is in the book do not match. The instructors on their webinars are not state specific and will often not answer any questions related to state law. They also seem to go in no particular order making it difficult to follow along or relate the information to the course. The local instructor is not helpful either. He does not address my requests for help and guidance. He just sends a list of areas to review in the text book again. This school was a huge waste of money.

I paid to get my real estate license twice. Both times I paid for The Pass Or Don't Pay course. The first time it expired because I could not get anyone to respond to my calls or emails about an extension on the course like they advertise therefore it expired. I did not realize that they didn't reply on purpose until I almost finished the course the second time aff around. The second time around they let me get as far as the final. I had done this course before with 100% on the prefinal. I paid through a proctor for the first final. Took the final but none of the material was on the test. I failed. I took the second final. Failed, same score. They will not tell you what you failed therefore you have to guess over 90 hours of information what you failed. I paid an extra $50 to unlock two more finals. Failed one with 2% higher score. 62 to 64. I scheduled the last final again, paid, went to study but was locked out of my course stating I failed entire course. I was ripped off and they want me to start again. I have paid at least $800. I'm a single mom who spent a lot of money I didn't have to try to better my future. I cannot study or take my last final and bought this course off *** which I now don't recommend either.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Accreditation. I have paid twice for this course at discount plus the finals plus all the fees for proctoring and honestly participating in the 90 hours twice now. I am a single mom who's lost everything. 180 hours is unacceptable to be locked out of the second attempt at the course and to not be able to take the 4th final I paid extra to take. They have wasted my time and 66,000 others with no recourse. They should not be accredited in this state or any other state. I've done the work twice. I am not a intellectually challenged person, not the most intellectual obviously either but the tests are faulty and other institutions use the same testing as well with no possible way to know what to study after 90 or more hours. It is a 100 question test. I paid additional money for the Pass or Don't Pay and received 100% on the practice finals. I received a 62%, 62% and 64% with one final locked out for the attempt. I have forwarded the information to our State Assembly.

Sincerely

Dear ***,

We have attempted on several occasions to reach out to you by phone and email to comply with your requests. A supervisor left a message for you on 7/18/2018. On 7/25/2018 we spoke with you via our texting feature and we offered a refund then plus we gave you a courtesy exam reset, even with the imminent threat of reaching out to the Revdex.com, real estate commission and etc. We left two more voicemails on 9/4/2018 and 9/7/2018 in an attempt to resolve this issue with you without success.

On 11/24/2017, I purchased a *** for the 75-hour New York Prelicense Course to become a Real Estate Salesperson in NY State. This was advertised as an online course. After completing the course, I then found out that I had to take a proctored final exam at a predetermined location. The eligible locations are far from my home. There is one location that is close to my house but only offers the proctored exam from 9-1. I am working from 9-1. This is not convenient for me. I called Real Estate Express to complain and was basically told "too bad" by both *** and ***. *** offered to extend my course three months but that does not do me any good since I am scheduled to take the NYS Real Estate Exam on 2/20/18.

I feel that Real Estate Express should have made sure that it stated on the *** "Final exam has to be a proctored, in person exam." Had I known this ahead of time, I would not have purchased the ***. I assumed that, since it was an online course, all coursework including the final exam would be done online.

Real Estate Express a McKissock Company Response • Mar 05, 2018

I am sorry that this has happened to Ms.. We are unable to waive the proctor as this is a state requirement and out of our control. We do not have the power to do so. All of our courses have an affidavit that they are supposed to read and digitally sign and agree to. In the affidavit, it explains the proctor requirement. I understand that she is not an area where there is a local proctor. I am willing to work with her. I do want her to be successful and I want to help her. If she can do a little research and send us 3-5 places that are close to her location like a library, community college, where someone who is not a real estate agent or a family member or friend, we will reach out to all of them and add them to the list and schedule for her with one of those 5 for her to take the proctor exam. I will extend her course while we wait for her proctored exam. She does not need to contact the places, just send us a list with the name of the institution and a good phone number to contact.

so me and my girlfriend signed up to take our indiana real estate classes togther in order to further our success in life. I came across realestateexpress.com and it looked great, that being said I have huge issues with this scam of a website claiming to be a school. The website is always down or lagging and the curriculum is a complete joke. It states if you pass the class and dont pass your boards they will refund you but its almost impossible to pass the class. after frustration of being kicked off the website or cant log in or getting 100 question exam that is completely different than what you study is ok youre not going to pass this class. I wasted 800$ with real estate express and I feel ripped off and so does my girlfriend. its a terrible thing to showcase how great you are then pretty much make it impossible to pass this class with no teacher or book to help. its a shame we thought we were doing something great in the end its a terrible waste of money and makes sick that I wasted that much money

In 27 states we serve, we have the highest pass rate of any provider. Our education process is good and we have great reviews from our students. I will say Indiana is a challenging one to pass, but all of our courses have instructors and students can email the instructor. In all states we offer 4 packages: 1st package is just a course, student forum, and the option to email the instructor, the 2nd package is the same as first but offer a test simulation product with questions in timed environment, the 3rd package includes live sessions with experts, Q & A, sessions every day of the work week, the 4th package includes all of this including a live Q & A and a textbook. All of this is on our webpage and are available for purchase. I am sorry for the experience and we are very focused on helping people successfully become a real estate agent. Because of this I will offer 2 options: If realty is not for them, I will give a refund. If they want to become licensed in real estate I will upgrade to our top package at no additional cost and I recommend they utilize all of our features. If they are interested in either option, please have them contact me, ***, at ***.***@colibrigoup.com and reference that they did report this to the Revdex.com and are wanting one of the resolutions offered.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I will be expecting the refund I will email him and make sure I really think you need to go through the curriculum again because we were learning things that have nothing to do with the state of indiana

This company is disorganized. I practiced 4 hours for a final exam on which I made an 80% and you only have to make a 70% to pass. I worked hard on it and they would not accept my 80% because they changed a rule in there system without explaining it to anyone. The rules is you have to be watched when you take the test. What is the point of taking an online course if you have to be in a class room to have someone watch you? This website is a scam and you should find someone else to get your license with. It really *** when they dident count any of my work.

Real Estate Express a McKissock Company Response

We understand your frustration with the addition of a proctoring requirement for our Texas students. This is not a school rule, it is a Texas Real Estate Commission regulation. Every online school now has to use proctors for their course final exams. We delayed implementing it for as long as the commission would allow. When the regulation changed, we placed a large orange banner at the top of each Texas student's homepage that is still in place. We also have two pop-up messages notifying students of the regulation change. One of the pop-ups has a link to a document that clearly explains the new proctoring policy and procedures. These pop-up messages appear every time a student logs into his/her course.
You do not have to sit in a classroom to take your course final. You have the option to use a virtual proctor from any location you have internet on a device with a camera and microphone (so the virtual proctor can monitor). The document linked to one of the pop-ups walks you through the process for both virtual and live proctoring.
You do have another attempt at your course final exam in your account. If you have questions about the proctor policy, please contact our customer service department to answer your questions before taking the second exam.
