Real Estate U Online Reviews (%countItem)

Final exam would not work for me. I spoke to someone through email and they stated that I accessed it. I clicked on the link and it did not work.
I purchased Real Estate U in August of 2019. I received an email stating I had 90 days, 60 days, and then 30 days to complete the course before it expired (August of 2020). I was able to complete everything besides the final. I spoke Real Estate U prior to the course expiring (via email). The representative stated I was experiencing issues because I needed to change devices. I switched devices (3 times). I tried to take the final and was informed the website was experiencing issues. My exam was rescheduled through ProctorU. I tried again and still could not access the final. I was able to get approved by ProctorU to take the final exam. Upon trying to log back onto Real Estate U with proctor online (through webcam) I was informed that I no longer had access. I immediately contacted Real Estate U and they stated that I had to pay 40.00 for each exam because I did not finish in time. I would have finished in time if it was not for technical issues on their side. I tried to resolve via email to their customer support and no one will help me. I have tried for days now. I have several emails from their extremely rude customer care department. I just want to complete the course. Real Estate U wants me to pay for an extension on a course that I tried to finish by the due date.

Desired Outcome

I just want the opportunity to finish the course and take the final. I don't want to be nickle and dimmed.

Real Estate U Online Response • Aug 18, 2020

The student signed up for the TX real estate package on 12 Aug 2019. Students have 12 months to complete all 6 courses by passing *** final exam for each of the 6 courses.

In effect the expiration date for for this student would be 11 Aug 2020: https://www.screencast.com/t/R5TTeh3Yz

This student went through the lessons of the first course "Texas Principles of Real Estate - Part 1".

In this screen shot you will see that the student reached the Final Exam section of the course on 31 July 2020 and then viewed the same lesson last on 4 Aug 2020: https://www.screencast.com/t/Sqd7xOnc

The student's course was to expire on 11 Aug 2020 so from 31 July 2020 until 11 Aug the student had plenty of time to pass *** final exam given we offer online proctoring through ProctorU.

The student left her account to expire and then she emailed us complaining that she cannot take the final exam.

We offered her the option to extend the courses for a fee and she refused to extend.
She even asked for a 1 day extension to take her final as you can see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/5GQfoyRP

The Orientation section of each course clearly specifies that students have 12 months to complete the course including the extension option. Here is a screen shot: https://www.screencast.com/t/0yli8BAG

The student is fully aware of this fact as she spent 2 minutes in the "How to Obtain A Real Estate License" lessons where these details are clearly explained: https://www.screencast.com/t/5ahs92me

This case has no merit and the student has no grounds for a complaint.

Customer Response • Aug 19, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This information is not accurate.

Real Estate U Online Response • Aug 20, 2020

The student is yet again misrepresenting the facts.

Students have 12 months to complete all 6 courses and pass each final exam (included at the end of each course). This fact is explained clearly throughout all 6 Texas courses.

In regards to the student's false facts here is the actual email in question.
https://www.screencast.com/t/YOOZKKztrco
You can clearly see how the RealEstateU member explained to the student that her account expired and that she was required to extend the course.

It is clear that this student was not paying attention to either the course instructions or the email details which explain clearly the course policy and the expiration terms.

The $39 payment is required for extending each Texas course.
The final exam proctoring fee is covered by RealEstateU.

Once the student pays the extension fee she will be able to continue in the course where she was left off.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't accept the response from the business (Real Estate U). Unfortunately, I don't have time to go back and forth with the company. I just won't recommend this company to anyone and I will continue to write bad reviews on all of my social media sites. Have a great day!

I couldn't get a refund from an online course that offers a 30 day refund but they say I finished the course so I couldn't get a refund.
I purchased a course from this company on 7/8/20 for $97. I decided that I didn't like the course and asked for a refund since its within 30 days. They told me since I did the whole course that I couldn't get a refund and that I benefited from it. I asked them months before I purchased the course and they never mentioned that I couldn't get a refund if I finished the whole course. I have e-mail proof of this but I'm sure its not going to help my case because paypal didn't help even though I used them to pay for the course. The paypal buyer protection is useless. I'm sure the Revdex.com will let the company get away with my $97 even though I have proof. They scammed me out of my money and paypal didn't help so I hope that the Revdex.com can help which I doubt.

Desired Outcome

I'm looking for a full refund. They never told me when I first asked if they offer refunds that they only give refunds if I only do half the course. I would have never purchased this course if I knew that was the only way of getting a refund.

Real Estate U Online Response • Aug 04, 2020

The student payment through PayPal was full refunded as you can see over here: https://www.screencast.com/t/mLgVp4ZoPKY

Please a allow for a few days for the payment to be reverted to your PayPal account in case you don't see it right away.

Customer Response • Aug 05, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I was notified of the refund yesterday from PayPal. I accept the response from the company.

this company is offering classes with outdated information, outdated forms and wrong answers to the questions in their exams.
7/28/2020 Tina or Victor, Paid Via Credit Card, The courses given have been proven to have the wrong answers, outdated information and outdated resources. They are paired up with a proctoring company that seems to delay your course exam completion by logging in to your PC and stating that there are tech issues. The problems occur every single time you log in. The practices they are serving the public are not acceptable. The reviews speak for themselves. When you go on line to complain they delete your complain to hide to the public their practice ethics.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund because I was not able to test without issues with the company that they are paired up with.

Real Estate U Online Response • Jul 30, 2020

The information in our courses is being kept up to date and is constantly scrutinized for any mistakes that are found and corrected.

Our school is working with ProctorU to provide online proctoring. ProctorU is the preferred proctoring solution as recommended by TREC. In the past few months due to COVID-19 there is a spike in the number of students opting for online proctoring so ALL online platforms have a harder time keeping up with the huge demand.

That being said the wait time to get into an exam might be slightly longer than usual however all students are being tended to.

From our experience there are students who's internet bandwidth is weak and have technical difficulties when doing a screen share with the proctors. Needless to say such students are quick to blame all the other parties involved.

We have no access to reviews and it is completely false to even state that the reviews are being deleted.

Given that this student is unhappy with her course we provided her a full refund for her course and book.
She can expect to receive the refund in 5 to 10 business days.

Customer Response • Jul 31, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
When the refund is complete I will be happy to close the case. They have yet to show a proven track record. The refund has to be received first. They did delete all the negative reviews off their social media advertisement to deceive the consumers. They no very little of what Proctor U is actually able to handle. The situation was not with a slow internet connection, that tested correctly. The issues they are having is they cannot connect to the mic on their end. You can hear them but they can't hear you. This has nothing to do with the bad width. My internet quality is the best quality for my area and I only run one pc on it. If you go and look at other reviews they say the exact same thing. It sounds like a gimmick. Once the refund is complete, I will be happy to close this case.

Real Estate U Online Response • Aug 03, 2020

As specified already the refunds were already issued on 30 July 2020 as you can see in the screen shuts below:
- $155 refund: https://www.screencast.com/t/jM49cTKntq
- $53.05 refund: https://www.screencast.com/t/NykjbUHZin

It takes from 5 to 10 business days until the refund will show up on the student's credit card statement/bank account.

The refund process is in the banks hands and cannot be reversed, meaning the student should receive the funds any day now.

This is an overdue review...This course is a complete disgrace with all the technical errors and lack of Customer Support. I initially purchased this course through Groupon and I would also not recommend it to anyone due to the negative experience that I encountered. This company is not about any type of Customer Service and the other negative reviews do speak for themselves! I requested a full refund and was denied. I reported this company to the attorney general's office for consumers as well.

I purchased a Real Estate Course on Groupon for Real Estate U Online for $99. This is the second time I purchased and I have yet to hear from the company. I tried to contact the company and there is no phone number or email address. I then contacted Groupon and was told I need to contact Real Estate U Online? I explained there is no information on how to contact the company. The attendant then said there is nothing Groupon can do.

The statements made by this student are misleading and false.

First of all the her account was activate back in January as you can see here: ***>Ever since then she has full access to her account and she never logged in. It is possible that she misplaced her account password. It is also possible that when she tried to reset her password she her activation email was sent to her SPAM folder given she is using an AOL account. AOL is notorious for blocking emails and considering many emails to be junk or spam.

This student emailed us about this in the past and we asked for an alternative email address to activate another account for her. We asked her to provide a new email address 10 months ago and she never replied. Here is a screen shot: https://***>Now that she received a notification that the account will expire soon she started emailing us again.

This course is a disgrace. I've taken it twice because the first time I did not finish. Second time taking the course and there were glitches throughout the course. When taking the lesson, the lesson would signal lesson completed and the instructor was still talking. All of my questions that I emailed were unanswered. When I spoke to Tina. she said that use Google Chrome Duh I was. They sent me an email to renew the course at 20.00 less than I paid. Both times that I have taken this class I have had problems. your not saving money on this site.

Real Estate U Online Response • Sep 03, 2019

We are sorry Diane that you did not have a pleasant experience. We reviewed all the the email communications regarding your account and we noticed that ALL your questions were answered.
First of all you had 12 months to complete your 75 hour NY licensing course and you completed pretty much half of the course in this time frame. Most students complete the entire course within 2-4 weeks. We see exactly the dates on which you went through each lesson and it is clear that you were taking your time spending a few hours each months studying.
The technical issues you mentioned you had could not be replicated on our end and none of our thousands of students complained about this. So this could have been something on your end (browser issues/ caches/ antivirus program/etc) and our team member suggested a possible solution for your issues. That being said it looks you were progressing steadily through the course.
Finally you were disappointed with the re-purchase price. We cannot offer you better deal than the one we already have. The re-purchase fee is the lowest possible price in the entire state for taking the 75 hour NY course.

Hi, I took the exam today, and I got 52 questions correct, by any math 70% of 75 questions is exactly 52. So I passed that exam, and even though I told the proctor something was wrong with two of those questions I still passed with my score, so why didn't I get my certificate? I passed with 52 questions correct and that is exactly 70% of 75 questions, so why didn't I get my certificate'You can not answer half of a question, and 52 is the number that reflects not 53 and since you are the preparer of this contract, yo bound by what it states and "not" what you meant for the understanding to be. It states passing is 70% and that reflects 52, then by any legal judgement it stands in my favor. Not only that, but if you are now saying 53 is passing, then your math is wrong. That would mean your passing score isn't 70 %, but it's 71%, and here is the proof:71%75=53.25So, please just give me my certificate and let's not make a bigger thing then what it needs to be. I am just trying to start a career in this field and I did everything correctly. So please may I have my certificate?

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Just give me my certificate or forfeit my money back to me, due to breach of contract.

Real Estate U Online Response • Jul 11, 2019

Prior to taking the final exam there are clear instructions provided to each students as you can clearly that that a student has to answer 53 answers correctly in order to obtain a certificate of completion. Here is a screen shot with the final exam ***

In order to obtain a passing grade each student must answer 53 questions correctly.

70% x 75questions = 52.5 which is rounded up to 53 as there is no such thing as half a questions.

These are the NY State rules and all schools must comply with this scoring system!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# XXXXXXXX, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

(Your Answer Here)

You don't round up on a grade, any school knows this! Besides that is not stated anywhere on their site, you cannot create a contract and leave it up to best interpretation.

If the creator of a contract does not include specific and clear instructions, they can't expect for the consumer to assume what they meant! If they left out a meaning of their intent, that's on the prepare not the consumer.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

"I was scheduled to retake my final exam on (6/10) after taking it on (6/6). I scheduled to retake the exam that same day and submitted my request for the password on Saturday (6/8 around 3pm). At no point during that process did I receive a confirmation or a notice letting me know that I would not be able to take the exam that Monday. I received an email on March 10 informing me that I had 90 days to take the exam (screenshot attached) but today when I logged in to take my exam, it said that my account had already expired on the 8th. I am currently at the library awaiting a reply from your team and have yet to hear anything back. I would like to complete the final exam this week and finish the class. Please let me know what I need to do to move forward with this process and take my final exam as I've already invested a lot of time in completing this course. "I was still waiting outside of the library when I sent that message to RealEstateU just about a week ago Monday and I have yet to get a response. I've been calling the number listed on the website and have not been able to reach anyone. I don't know how else to get in contact with the company to get a response. I spent a lot of time on this exam, I met my deadlines and now i've been blacklisted from completing this course.

I believe our email responses were being directed to your spam/junk folder.
We responded to all of your emails (you were emailing us from your Hotmail account).

As you know, the New York Real Property Law requires students to complete the course (including the final exam) within one year.
For this reason, the learning management system automatically de-activates your account 365 days after starting the course.

Please email us back at ***@RealEstateU.tv to discuss a possible extension.

I have learned a lot from taking this course. It has helped me expanding my knowledge beyond the border of my comfort zone. I found that majority of the instructors are very knowledgeable, and I felt so thankful for being able to share a little part of it. The only questions that I had happened very later in the course were administrative, and they were always answered promptly and professional.

This company is a disgrace. I am currently finishing up four exams and I had to file a complaint with *** against the company for lying multiple times when I've tried to settle disagreements. I've received emails from Andrew who refused to add the attorney from *** to the email once she was assigned. I've also emailed Ciprano who seems to be the owner, yet he felt the need to lie and say he was a manager. You never know who these people are. They are hideous and completely disrespectful. I am waiting for the day when the people I recommended start to pull out of their program. A complete bust dealing with is who believe their incompetence and rude attitudes will be tolerated outside of New York.

I have not taken the NYS exam yet because I am still in the middle of the course. So far, I have found two mistakes within the course. The mistake was in the actual chapter, so when you take the test at the end of the chapter, the question and answer are totally different then what you just learned...there were only two errors so far. When I tried to reach out to REU, no-one responded. Still no response. It is not good practice to put a course out into the world and not respond to people that pay for your course. I actually contacted one of the teachers from the course and he responded to me within minutes. Bravo!

Real Estate U Online Response • May 07, 2019

Hi ***,
Thank you for your feedback.
We are aware of these two minor mistakes. We've made note of these and will make the necessary corrections in an upcoming update to the course.

So far the courses are great I am on chapter 2 and I love the instructor Chris M. I like how he puts in his own experiences and scenarios, he is very knowledgeable. The only issue I had so far which was fixed was that my email communications to the instructor were being sent to my junk folder, so I'd say carefully check your junk email and report not spam.

Total Scam Radu was un welcoming — Claims that voucher expired and refuses to help. We suspended it cause found was not what we wanted when bought off Groupon they prey on the People looking for info to study its not even a goid courae! Its nonsense free if you actually take course. Thus is not accredited. Waste of $99 then wants another $49 to renew Its a scam beware!

I purchased their 6 course package yesterday and when I tried to log in today the courses were not accessible at all. $165 plus another $50 for prep courses and now I can't go through the courses. I want my full refund. This is a complete scam and a rip off. How do you sell a product and then stop giving access to product after you've received your money?

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) Full refund for all items purchased. $165+ expense paid for the exam prep $49

Hi,

We certainly understand your frustration!

We have a server issue that occurred a few hours ago with our learning management system. We've been working with the developers to resolve the issue ASAP!

We will email you as soon as the server is working properly.

This is an extremely rare event that just happened to coincide with your purchase.

You will have access to your courses very soon.

If you still would like a refund we certainly understand and will do so accordingly.

They locked me out and would not allow me back into the course because I could not answer a security question in the middle of the first course I paid for.
They refuse to allow me back into the program and have stolen my tuition. They will not respond to my emails or phone calls. This is a criminal organization.
Do not send them your money. Criminals from New York.

Real Estate U Online Response • Jun 25, 2018

Hi ***,
The Texas Real Estate Commission requires that we have security questions throughout the course to ensure the person taking the course is the same individual who purchased the course.
We simply need you to provide us with your information to verify your identity.
Again, this process is a State requirement.
As you know, we have been emailing each other back and forth for the past few days. However, in stead of providing us with the information we asked you to send, you instead only responded with extremely vulgar language.
We are here to help you through the course, but we need you to cooperate in the process.
Regards

The course may be boring at times, but some of the instructors made it a lot better (*** for example). Customer service was also awesome. Every time I had a problem, they answered very quickly and effectively. Overall, way better than having to commute somewhere and have the same instructor for 75 hours on specific days of the week. Found a great deal on *** for my course, but I would definitely pay the full price for this course if I had to do it over again. Thanks for the great content and opportunity to take the course anytime that you want.

Real Estate U Online Response • Jun 19, 2018

Hi ***,
Thank you for the review!
Please let us know if you need any help with the State exam or getting started as an agent.

I thought it was a great course. I even ordered the study guide to pass the test and it really helped a lot. I don’t think I would have passed otherwise.

Real Estate U Online Response • May 24, 2018

Thank you ***, we appreciate the feedback! Congratulations on getting your license!

I went as far as ordering the practice test for the NYS Salesperson Exam. They call it a practice test then a mock test. I went through the test until I aced it over and over again. I walked into the NYS exam extremely confident. Nothing the was on the practice test I purchased was on the NYS exam. Complete waste of time and money.

Real Estate U Online Response • May 04, 2018

Hi ***,
We are sorry to hear that you didn't pass the NYS State exam on your first try!
Please keep in mind that the study guide you purchased also includes additional study material to help you prepare for the test. The two practice tests at the end of the guide are not enough to ensure you pass the exam on the first try.
It's more important to understand the concepts and key terms discussed throughout the guide. These concepts and key terms will help you prepare for the various questions you see on the State exam.

This is a waste of money. The audio recordings are very boring, hard to follow, and ineffective.

Real Estate U Online Response • Jan 05, 2018

Hi ***,
The course primarily consists of audio lessons, which perhaps does not cater well to your learning style.
We tried to design the course to accommodate multiple learning styles, based on student feedback in the past.
That being said, we have made note of your feedback to use in our upcoming updates to the course.
