Review: My wife and I put an offer in on a house [redacted] for a purchase price of $203,000. In the contract it was stated that the tenants would vacate by 5/31/2013. 5/31/2013 came and went and the tenants were still in the home. we signed an addendum requesting that the tenants be out by the time of the appraisal of 6/10/2013, which was accepted and signed by the homeowner. 6/10/2013 came and the tenants were still in the home, to which we approached the listing agent only to find out that the homeowner had accepted June rent and expected us to inherit the tenants. This was unacceptable since my wife had given notice to our rental property manager that we would be vacating on 6/30/2013. We made this clear to the homeowner, selling agent and the selling brokerage firm on a solution to the issue. The selling agent, [redacted], was slow to respond and only offered that we take on the tenants, which as I stated, was unacceptable since my wife and 3 children needed a place to stay.we approached the seller again and asked for 2 weeks rent and funds for moving which they declined. This was a terrible way to conduct a real estate transaction, so much so that we had enlisted legal counsel not to mention the stress it caused me and my wife. we eventually abandon the purchase for a more favorable seller. I can provide signed PDF's of all contracts and addendums upon request.Desired Settlement: I would like the 2 weeks additional rent that I had to pay out because the seller could not honor a signed legal contract and put me in the position of having to beg for 2 more weeks of occupancy.
