I have reviewed this situation with our office staff to determine if we have made any mistakes with regards to this situation Our application process has a bold notification that is provided to any prospective tenants below is the notification:"***Please note that ALL Application Fees are NON-REFUNDABLE***If you have not viewed the property in which you are applying for please do not fill out an application with out prior written notification from Management Company.Please be prepared to pay the application fee as outlined in the property listingIn addition to this rental application, you will also be required to provide a copy of a valid form of identification and proof of income.To complete this rental application, you must be prepared to provide years of residential history as well as contact information for your rental referencesYou will also be asked to provide information on your monthly income, and please note that most properties require that applicant combined net income is at least three (3) times the monthly rent amount.Each resident over the age of must submit a separate rental application."During the application process and prior to executing a lease agreement we actually received multiple applications from multiple prospective tenants When evaluating all aspects of the applications and the desires of each of the applicants we made a determination that another applicant would be a better fit Many of our properties have multiple applicants apply and we are forced to make decisions between applications The application fee is the cost to run the application and gather the information to determine which application is best for the particular property This is why we make the statement above prior to anyone paying any funds for an applicationThanksMark M***

I am rejecting this response because: they can't use that blanket nonrefundable term for everything that they do wrongThis was clearly a bait and switchThey explicitly called us to tell us we were approved except they now wanted to change the terms from months to monthsWe never would have considered renting this place for monthsWe want a refund for the fee because they misled us before we paid for it

I had to end up paying Duke power $for an apartment I was not able to live inI feel they are accountable for this and I should be reimbursed for that also!
