Review: E-mailed then three times asking why they raised my homeowners insurance $ 100.00 a year and no response. I want to know why the increase was more than 4 %.Desired Settlement: need to explain why the increase was so high.

[redacted]:I am writing to provide you with a written response to your inquiry on behalf of a Reamstown Mutual Policyholder who filed a complaint regarding a rate increase to their Homeowners policy. Our policyholder emailed the company three times with no response. To that point we concede that our website was not working properly and any email request was not being routed to the company. This has since been addressed and corrected and we apologize for inconvenience this may have caused. Our website www.rmins.com does contain a toll free phone number that the policyholder could have used to contact us directly with any questions or concerns regarding their policy or they could have contacted their independent agency representative through our website to obtain assistance with their questions.To address the policyholder's complaint regarding the $100 increase in their policy premium. Effecive July 2013 the Company filed for and received approval for a 19% rate increase to all renewal homeowners policies from the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. With this policyholder's 2014-2015 policy renewal a letter was included outlining the rate increase and the reasons behind it. In addition to the 19% increase, the policy contains an inflation guard that increases the dwelling coverage by 4% each year.We will be happy to address the policyholders concerns with a follow-up letter mailed directly to them.Sincerely,
