Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/01/21) */
On August of last year, Re-Bath by *** completed a tub-to-shower conversion for Ms***Six days later, per her request, our technician relocated the shower door handleHe also cleaned the kitchen faucet filter as she
believed that her unit's water pressure had been affected by the remodelPer her signed Re-Bath Warranty Activation card, Ms*** stated that she was fully satisfied with our work and that she would recommend us to others
In mid-October, however, Ms*** called to complain that there were water-spots on the shower's cover plate, grab bar and tub spoutOur Installation Manager told her that this is typical of how hard water affects polished chrome, and that a non-abrasive cleaner such as Never Dull would remove those spotsMrs*** replied via email that she had "never had to clean chrome after it got water on it before in my life, other than the wiping down." Another email states that she was "extremely unhappy" and "upset and even furious" that we did not offer to replace those water-spotted itemsAnd a subsequent letter states that "this (issue) is consuming my life."
In an effort to put her mind at ease, at the end of October we sent a Re-Bath technician to clean those fixtures with a product similar to Never DullPer a related letter from her, she stated, "It's now November and the spots are reappearingI am glad, as I really didn't want to have to clean the chrome every day or week." We also asked a representative for the manufacturer, Wolverine Brass, Inc., to call herHe did so, and confirmed for her that periodic cleaning would be needed
In conclusion, while we understand that Ms*** would like to avoid having to clean and polish the chrome fixtures, spotting is inevitable whenever non-softened water is allowed to dry after using the showerAccording to a recent harticle in SF Gate, "Although you can't completely keep your faucet from spotting unless you install a water softener, by cleaning the faucet regularly you can prevent deposits from building up, so the chrome looks its best at all times."

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/02/01) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
*IF I HAD NOT BEEN YELLED AT BY THE INSTALLATION MANAGER WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN AND IF HE HAD SENT SOMEONE OUT TO CHECK ON THE SITUATION RIGHT AWAY THIS WHOLE THING COULD PROBABLY HAVE BEEN AVOIDEDHIS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS NEED A LOT OF WORKI HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED THAT WAY BEFORE AND, YES, I WAS UPSET, FURIOUS, ANGRY AND THIS DID CONSUME MY LIFE FOR AWHILE
* Shower Door Handle: There was no *** on the inside of one shower door which made it difficult to close from the inside so the technician installed one on the insideIt keeps falling off, will resort to Crazy Glue
* After installation and water being turned off the water pressure did definitely changeThe technician did not clean the faucet, it was newish, but there was a small amount of black grit, probably from the old plumbing in Rossmoor
*In the beginning I was happy with the installation and would have been happy to recommend ReBathI did have to buy paint and repaint the walls as there were areas that had been gouged but had been "muddied?" ready for painting, which I did not complain about
* The water at Rossmoor is not hard, it is drinkable from the faucet
* I do clean my chrome bathroom and kitchen faucets with a wet cloth and then dry clothI have never had to use a non-abrasive cleaner on any chrome in any of my homes in my life, I'm
* After the Simichrome Polish was used by your technician the rubber suction cup which holds the squegee will not stick to the chromeI do squegee the glass doors every days so, as you seem to think, I am not adverse to cleaning
* There are still spots on the chrome !!
Desired Resolution: SAME AS BEFORE
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/02/13) */
As stated in our response of January 21, and supported by numerous news articles on this topic, having water spots on chrome fixtures is inevitable whenever non-softened water is allowed to dry after using the showerConsequently, until such time as truly spotting-free chrome fixtures become available Re-Bath by *** is unable to offer any further remedy for this customer
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/02/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Looks like I do not have any recourse, but I still do not think that the chrome fixtures should be this badI do think that the man who shouted at me should send me an apologyThe way I was treated was terrible he should have customer service lessons also !!
