I would like the promised tub replacement and the referal bonus sent

This project was a tub replacement.  In order to get the existing cast tub out, we generally break it with a sledge hammer.  Is is very difficult, if not impossible to extract this tub in one piece. Because of the weight, it is necessary to break in to several pieces so we can...

remove from home.  There was obviously some level of miscommunication regarding this.  In all likelihood, we would not have been able to save an intact tub even if that was goal.  That being said, we are going to offer the client a replacement bathtub for her son.  We will contact her in the next few days to coordinate.

Review: RE BATH WAS HIRED TO REMODEL LOWER LEVEL BATHROOM FOR MY ELDERLY MOTHER'S APARTMENT. AN AGREEMENT WAS MADE FOR A LINEN CABINET, DOUBLE CABINET VANITY WITH OFFSET LEFT SINK, A MIRROR CENTERED AND LIGHT FIXTURE OVER OFFSET SINK. ALSO A SHOWER STALL WAS TO BE REDONE, GLASS DOOR, GRAB BARS. WAINSCOATING WAS TO GO AROUND THE ROOM AND APPROPRIATE DRY WALL WAS TO BE GOTTEN TO PAINTING LEVEL. A WINDOW TRIM KIT WAS ORDERED AND THE DOOR WAS TO BE ENCASED. A SECOND LINEN CABINET, MIRROR, LIGHT FIXTURE AND REMOVABLE SHOWER HEAD WERE ALSO ADDED. TOILET WAS SUPPLIED BY MYSELF. THE COMPANY INSTALLED THE ABOVE WHICH UNFORTUNATELY LOOKS LIKE A NEW DO-IT-YOURSELFER DID. THERE WERE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE INSTALLATION THAT THE OWNERS WERE CONTACTED ABOUT. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR ISSUES (THERE ARE MINOR ISSUES SOME OF WHICH HAVE BEEN REMEDIED): COUNTERTOP IS NOT OFFSET LEFT (OLD PLUMBING WAS IN CENTER AND COMPANY DID NOT WANT TO PAY PLUMBER TO MOVE??), CABINETS ARE NOT CORRECTLY INSTALLED FOR OFFSET LEFT SINK. MIRRORS AND LIGHTS ARE NOT CENTERED AS OUTLINED WITH SINK. HOLES AND CRACKS WERE IN LINEN CABINETS FROM IMPROPER INSTALLATION, DOOR JAMB IS NOT UNIFORM, SHOWER CEILING HAS OPENINGS AT TOP OF PANELS WHERE WATER CAN LEAK BEHIND (RE BATH AGREED TO ADD CEILING PIECE). ALSO REQUESTED THAT THEY ADD EXTRA OUTLET AND FAN/LIGHT COMBO IN SHOWER THAT I AGREED TO PAY FOR ELECTRICIAN. LAST COMMUNICATION WITH RE BATH WAS 8/2/13 AND I WAS TO BE CONTACTED AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING.Desired Settlement: ALL INFO WAS DISCUSSED WITH OWNERS AND AN AGREEMENT FOR THEM TO FIX SHOWER, ETC. WAS MADE. THEY DID COME BACK TO REPAIR SOME ITEMS AND WANTED TO GET 3RD PAYMENT WHICH I DID NOT GIVE TO THEM. THE REPAIRS AND OTHER PROBLEMS REMAIN. I CANCELLED NEED FOR EXTRA OUTLET FROM THEM AND NO EXTRA FIXTURE - I WILL HAVE ANOTHER ELECTRICIAN DO WORK.

ORIGINALLY I WAS WILLING TO ALLOW FOR THE MISTAKE ON THE COUNTERTOP DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS ON FINISHING THE APARTMENT. FOLLOWING MY LAST PHONE CALL AND THE ARROGANCE BY THE OWNER AND THE FAILURE TO COMPLETE ALL PROBLEMS TO MY SATISFACTION, I WOULD LIKE A REFUND, NEW COUNTERTOP WITH OFFSET LEFT SINK, A CEILING PIECE TO THE SHOWER TO PREVENT LEAKAGE BEHIND WALL PANEL AND A NEW COMPANY TO COMPLETE PROJECT BUT MAINTAIN THE WARRANTY ON THE SHOWER. DUE TO OTHER ISSUES I AM QUESTIONING QUALITY AND THE WITHSTANDABILITY AND SAFETY FOR THIS BATHROOM.

Response:

On Tuesday August 13th one of the owners of Re-Bath, [redacted] went to the [redacted] residence. After discussions with the homeowner, **. [redacted] agreed to replace the vanity top.

**. [redacted] also agreed to install a ceiling over shower and perform some minor electrical work. The main issue was mis-communication which both sides agreed was the main problem. **. [redacted] sent **s. [redacted]

Review: I purchased a [redacted] surround and new bath tub. Before I agreed to the purchase, I asked for my old tub to be placed in my garage as I was going to sell it, but later my son asked for it. Either way, I wanted to keep my old tub. I was told at that time that they would do that. When the men came to install my unit, I again asked for the old tub to be put in my garage, and again it was fine.

When my son came to pick up the tub, it was not in my garage. When I called about the tub, I was given the run around and then told that neither the salesman nor the installer remembered the conversations. When I finally talked with the salesman, he denied the whole conversation. When I also brought up the $100 referal reward, he denied that as well. When I repeated the conversation again, he suddenly remembered.

**. [redacted] was rude and suggested that his company save someone else's old tub and that my son would have to pick it up at that site. I felt that even if that was a possibility, the company should deliver it to my son, as my son had already made the trip to pick up the tub.

The work was done December 23, 2013, and nothing more than an insincere "sorry" was said and my parents never received their referal reward.Desired Settlement: I would like a suitable solution for a replacement tub, and also the referal reward be sent to my parents.

Response:

This is to reopen my complaint [redacted]. Unfortunetly, I was called away emergently with no internet access. While I was away, my complaint was closed as being solved. Unfortunately, the business NEVER contacted my within a few days as promised. I have not heard anything from them, nor have my parents received their referral money. I realize the company would rather have not had my referal, however, my parents refered [redacted] in good faith, just as I trusted [redacted] in good faith. The initial complint was file 2/9/14 and the response with promise to resolve was 2/11. As I previously stated, I was called away, but trusted the company. I monitored my phone messages and no calls came in regarding the solution from [redacted].

I would like the promised tub replacement and the referal bonus sent.
