He also informed us he would be pumping the remaining water out of his pool in the morning on 8/15/On 8/8/at 3:pm Recreational Concepts Inc replied to Mr***’ question regarding the start time on 8/15/We informed him we would probably start the job around 8:a.mOn 8/15/Mrs*** called and left a voicemail before 8:am questioning why we were not out at the jobsite. The crew had gone to another jobsite, since they start at 7:am, because they did not see the correct liner for the *** job. The office does not open until 8:amThe office was notified that the *** liner did not come in as soon as we opened. The office contacted our supplier to see why the correct liner was not shipped, and if they could overnight the correct linerOur supplier had to return our call, since they needed to see if they had the correct liner in their warehouse or at their other location. While waiting for a response from our supplier, Mr*** called questioning why his job had not been startedHe was informed that the wrong liner came in, and we were waiting to see why and if we could get the correct liner overnightedHe stated he would take the wrong liner since he had scheduled to be off work to be at home while the job was being completedWe never need the customer to be on site during a jobIf they would like to be, that is their choice. The crew arrived at his jobsite at 9:am and worked until 4:pm. On 8/16/Mrs*** left a voicemail early in morning stating the pool was not level. We sent our crew to the jobsite to fix. Three of the pavers were not levelThe crew was on site at 8:am and worked until 7:pm. During this time, we informed the ***’ that the water would need to be drained to relevel the poolWe also informed them we would cover the cost of the replacement waterOn 8/17/Mr*** came into the store late morning very upset that the water had not been deliveredWe informed him that the water truck had broken down on the way to his jobsite, and we were waiting for onsite repair of the truck. He was very rude, yelling, and using obscenities with our employees, which we do have saved on our video security system. He stated he did not care who was doing the work, whoever was in front of him was getting the brunt of his angerOur employee apologized multiple times on behalf of the company, however, Mr*** stated he did not accept our apologyHe also stated that because this was day of the job, if we did not get him the bill today for the work then not to expect any paymentHe got so heated that *** the owner came over to speak with himMr*** stated they need to go outside at which point the office employees considered calling the policeYou could still hear him yelling inside. *** was able to calm Mr*** down and explained that we would finish the job at no extra cost to the ***’. We delivered gallons of water to Mr*** from 2:pm to 7:pmOn 1/31/at 1:pm Recreational Concepts Inc emailed the final billing to Mr***. We also mailed a paper copy to the ***’. We gave them a discount of $for having to return on 8/16/to fix the issues that were not corrected on 8/15/We did not charge for any labor after 8/15/16. The final bill did not exceed the original proposal that was emailed on 7/18/16. The final bill was for $We also gave the customer a $in store credit for the problems with the jobWe received an email at 3:pm on 1/31/from the Revdex.com stating we had a review from a customer on their websiteThis review was a negative review from Mrs***. Neither Mrs*** or Mr*** called to discuss the bill with us after receiving nor had they called to complain since 8/17/when Mr*** was in the storeWe were given no chance to discuss the charges with the ***’ or modify the billing based on any complaints they hadMrs*** also posted a negative review on our Facebook page last eveningWe do not feel that the resolution the ***’ are proposing is a fair resolution. We charged them $less than the original proposal that the ***’ agreed to pay. Plus, we gave them $in-store credit. We preformed the work as agreed upon and left the jobsite with the pool at the highest quality of standards that we perform

Great reliable companyHot tub is a little old and they always go the extra mile to find parts for meRepairs are always excellent and always as promised

Still in the process of having the pool and yard landscaping done so far it's been a pleasure working with Jeff and look forward to the completed project

We purchased a home with an existing in ground poolRecreational Concepts was invaluable throughout the entire processThey came out during the sales process and inspected the structure and mechanicals, as well as conducting pressure testing to ensure everything that we weren't able to visually inspect was okThe pool had a very old liner so after closing we had them out to replace it and, despite that it was late in fall, they squeezed us in on one of the last warm days of the year, ensuring our pool would be all ready for the next summerTheir staff is friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our "new pool owner" questions with patienceIn addition to the big things, we really appreciate the ongoing service: making sure we have the right chemicals, testing our water as often as we need it and teaching us, as new pool owners, how to maintain our pool

We contracted with Recreational Concepts to re level our pool, install a pool cove, and replace the pool linerThe work was scheduled for 8/15/No one showed upWe had already emptied the pool and removed the existing liner, as we had informed the company we would, which left our above ground pool unstable and the work needed to be completedWe went to the company and were told they had a scheduling issue and they would get someone to our houseThey also told us the liner we requested was not available and we had to choose one we didn't wantHad we known this in advance we would have not removed the existing liner and would have postponed the repair until the requested liner was availableThe crew came out and completed the workWe were responsible for storing and replacing the water so we did (we had stored our treated water in local fire trucks and tanks)Once the water was in we noticed the pool pillars were tilting and the wall was not in the trackWe had no way to re

On Fri, Apr 10, at 6:PM, *** *** *** wrote:I agree to close this case with no further action from either partiesMy understanding is that this complaint will not come up again in the future from Recreational Concepts and I do not owe any further money.I just want to thank Revdex.com for their assistance in resolving this complaint

During the summer of 2014, my husband and I hired Recreational Concepts to install an in-ground poolOurs was the most difficult pool they have ever builtDue to an unusually high water table in our neighborhood, the hole kept filling with water and the walls kept collapsingIt was badBut Jeff never gave up; even when we were ready toHe kept trying new ideas and sure enough - he got it! The crew is hard working and polite, always explaining what they were doing and answering all of our questionsAnd the girls in the store are so friendly and helpful with everything we needI truly believe that if we had gone with another company we wouldn't have this beautiful "miracle pool" in our backyard right nowI very highly recommend Recreational Concepts to everyone who plans to invest in a poolThey are beyond amazing!

Recreational Concepts installed our above ground pool in Since that time we’ve continued to use their services for our pool, spa and commercial waterfall Jeff and his staff are professional, knowledgeable and reliable I love the convenience of having them right in Oregon and would recommend Recreational Concepts to anyone considering pool installation or service

We used Jeff and his team for a new deck, outdoor kitchen, and hot tub! From design, to materials, to installation, we had a wonderful experience working with Recreational Concepts on this project I would recommend them to all my friends for a wonderful project experience with fantastic results I found Jeff and his team to be very attentive and timely on my project

Recreational Concepts is quite innovative when it comes to any home project which is why we selected them to finish our basementWe don't like cookie cutterThe bid process with Jeff and Adam proved right away that they were not going to provide us with a one size fits all solutionThe brainstorming about options helped us gain a clear perspective on what it is we wanted out of the completed spaceThey explained the pros and cons of each decisionThey answered all of our questions in great detailWe felt secure in each decision we made and felt like they were on board tooThe project started on timeThe project finished on timeIt was fun to come home each night to see the work in progressAll of the individuals that worked in our house during the project were so polite and respectfulAdam proactively communicated with us throughout the project on what was happening nextIt really was an outstanding experienceWe are looking forward to the next project we get to do with them

Jeff and his team made for a great experience for building our poolHis design was of very high quality and well thought out for the use of the pool/backyardJeff is very knowledgeable and offers high quality equipment to make our pool run very efficient while lasting a very long timeAdditionally, all of the employees are very nice and hard workingThey all go out of their way to educate their customers and made us feel very comfortable/confident throughout the whole processWe would recommend Jeff and Recreational Concepts to anybody that is considering an inground poolVery high quality construction, service, and pricingWe couldn't be happier that we chose Recreational Concepts for our pool

We spoke to [redacted] of the business tonight on the phone, he has offered us $300 worth of pool chemicals (a years supply) which my husband accepted.  Considering we've already had a new liner installed, we have decided to accept this offer. We thank you very much for all you've done to help us with this situation and for aiding us in resolving it.  Have a wonderful day, and if we don't receive the voucher, we will be in contact with you again.  Thank you, again. [redacted]Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer  I reviewed and my response appear below.

[redacted]  Per Recreational Concepts :On 7/18/16 at 4:08 pm Mr. [redacted] sent an email response back questioning if the proposal included teardown and reassembly of his pool after leveling the wall. Our response: Agreed. This was not in question. Per Recreational Concepts: On 7/19/16 at 10:40 am Recreational Concepts Inc replied to Mr. [redacted]’ email stating the proposal included liner removal, leveling of the pool, and reassembly of the pool. We also informed him that if we disposed of the liner it would be an extra $85.00. Our response: Agreed. This was not in question. However, a verbal discussion was had in the store after this at which time Mrs. [redacted] informed Recreational Concepts that we would have the pool empty and the liner removed prior to the start of the job. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/3/16 at 3:42 pm Mr. [redacted] emailed to question if the job could be scheduled for 8/15/16.  He also stated he would remove rocks from around the pool and dig down to the pavers prior to us starting the job.Our response: Agreed. This was not in question. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/5/16 at 1:16 pm Recreational Concepts Inc replied to Mr. [redacted] regarding the start date of the job. We informed him we could do the job on 8/15/16.Our response: Agreed. This was not in question. However, this email was in response to voice mail Mr. [redacted] left for Recreational concepts on 8/5/2016 at 12:45pm that was never returned. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/8/16 at 8:27 am Mr. [redacted] sent an email questioning what time we would be starting the job on 8/15/16.  He also informed us he would be pumping the remaining water out of his pool in the morning on 8/15/16.Our response: Agreed. This was not in question. We removed the majority of the water on 8/14/2016 and stored it in fire trucks, smaller pools, and holding tanks. This was done to save on the cost of refilling and retreating the pool as well as to be environmentally friendly. We removed the remaining water and liner the morning of 8/15/2016 so the job site would be ready for the crew when they arrived. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/8/16 at 3:55 pm Recreational Concepts Inc replied to Mr. [redacted]’ question regarding the start time on 8/15/16. We informed him we would probably start the job around 8:00 a.m.Our response: Since Recreational Concepts did not provide another time the 8:00 time was the expected time of arrival at the job site. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/15/16 Mrs. [redacted] called and left a voicemail before 8:00 am questioning why we were not out at the jobsite.  The crew had gone to another jobsite, since they start at 7:00 am, because they did not see the correct liner for the [redacted] job.  The office does not open until 8:00 am. The office was notified that the [redacted] liner did not come in as soon as we opened.  The office contacted our supplier to see why the correct liner was not shipped, and if they could overnight the correct liner. Our supplier had to return our call, since they needed to see if they had the correct liner in their warehouse or at their other location.  While waiting for a response from our supplier, Mr. [redacted] called questioning why his job had not been started. He was informed that the wrong liner came in, and we were waiting to see why and if we could get the correct liner overnighted. He stated he would take the wrong liner since he had scheduled to be off work to be at home while the job was being completed. We never need the customer to be on site during a job. If they would like to be, that is their choice.  The crew arrived at his jobsite at 9:15 am and worked until 4:00 pm.  Our response: Mr. [redacted] did not call Recreational Concepts until 8:53 am on 8/15/2016 when the crew failed to arrive. The statement above is inaccurate. Why were the materials for our job not checked prior to the start time of our job. If Recreational Concepts opens at 8:00 am and the liner was not checked until 8:00 am there is no way our job could be completed as promised. This means Recreational Concepts knew our job would not be performed as quoted and failed to inform us of this prior to the job date. Even overnighting the correct liner would not have been sufficient as Recreational Concepts knew (as they stated above) that our pool would not have water in it which would leave It vulnerable for a collapse. Recreational Concepts is accurate in that we were not told to be on site for the job. The lost wages listed in our complaint do not include this day as we expected to take this day to be on site for the job. Had we not been on site we would not have called Recreational Concepts, they would not have informed us our liner did not come in, and they likely would not have arrived to finish the job. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/16/16 Mrs. [redacted] left a voicemail early in morning stating the pool was not level.  We sent our crew to the jobsite to fix.  Three of the pavers were not level. The crew was on site at 8:00 am and worked until 7:15 pm.  During this time, we informed the [redacted]’ that the water would need to be drained to relevel the pool. We also informed them we would cover the cost of the replacement water. Our Response: Mrs. [redacted] called Recreational Concepts at 7:46 pm on 8/15/2016 not as stated above by Recreational Concepts. She left a voicemail asking them to contact her as the job had not been completed properly. She did attempt to find an after-hours or emergency number through the Recreational Concept Facebook page and website. No such number was available. Mr. [redacted] went to Recreational Concepts when they opened at 8:00 am to make sure they knew of the issue and to coordinate resolution. We were told a crew would be out to repair their error, which they did, but we were specifically informed that Recreational Concepts would not cover the cost of the replacement water as this was the responsibility of the owner. Mr. [redacted] explained that we took care of the water the first time and, since the second time was due to an error on Recreational Cocncept’s part, they should replace the water. We were told they would fill the pool but at our cost. Per Recreational Concepts: On 8/17/16 Mr. [redacted] came into the store late morning very upset that the water had not been delivered. We informed him that the water truck had broken down on the way to his jobsite, and we were waiting for onsite repair of the truck.  He was very rude, yelling, and using obscenities with our employees, which we do have saved on our video security system.  He stated he did not care who was doing the work, whoever was in front of him was getting the brunt of his anger. Our employee apologized multiple times on behalf of the company, however, Mr. [redacted] stated he did not accept our apology. He also stated that because this was day 3 of the job, if we did not get him the bill today for the work then not to expect any payment. He got so heated that [redacted] the owner came over to speak with him. Mr. [redacted] stated they need to go outside at which point the office employees considered calling the police. You could still hear him yelling inside.  [redacted] was able to calm Mr. [redacted] down and explained that we would finish the job at no extra cost to the [redacted]’.  We delivered 2500 gallons of water to Mr. [redacted] from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.Our response: Mr. [redacted] arrived at the store because we had not been notified the water truck had broken down and were not communicated with as to the state of our project. When he arrived he asked to speak to [redacted] did not arrive to speak with him on his own. Mr. [redacted] asked to speak with [redacted] in his office or somewhere private out of respect to the people working and the other customers. He was raising his voice, although not in a threatening way, and did use foul language out of frustration. Nothing he said or did crosses any legal threshold for a reason to call the police. He calmed down out of exasperation as [redacted] was not demonstrating an understanding of his company’s role in their error and their failure of communication. Mr. [redacted] did not threaten to withhold payment for the job. He offered to pay the bill for the work that had been done and walk away from Recreational Concepts that day. [redacted] told him no, they would fix it. The statement that Recreational Concepts would finish the job at no additional cost doesn’t make sense. Why would there be a cost to fix a problem created by Recreational Concepts themselves. Yes, 2500 gallons of water were delivered but this was to fill a 17,000 gallon pool. This hardly rectifies their error. Recreational Concepts did not take or return calls made from Mr. [redacted] on 8/17/2016 or 8/18/2016. Per Recreational Concepts: On 1/31/17 at 1:18 pm Recreational Concepts Inc emailed the final billing to Mr. [redacted].  We also mailed a paper copy to the [redacted]’.  We gave them a discount of $200.00 for having to return on 8/16/16 to fix the issues that were not corrected on 8/15/16. We did not charge for any labor after 8/15/16.  The final bill did not exceed the original proposal that was emailed on 7/18/16.  The final bill was for $2111.42. We also gave the customer a $150.00 in store credit for the problems with the job.Our response: The bill included a $200.00 water credit. We had made arrangements to store and reuse our water so any water supplied by Recreational Concepts was due to their errors and is not our responsibility. We covered our end, they need to cover theirs. An in-store credit does us no good as we would never use this company again, even for the purchase of chemicals. Per Recreational Concepts: We received an email at 3:35 pm on 1/31/17 from the Revdex.com stating we had a review from a customer on their website. This review was a negative review from Mrs. [redacted].  Neither Mrs. [redacted] or Mr. [redacted] called to discuss the bill with us after receiving nor had they called to complain since 8/17/16 when Mr. [redacted] was in the store. We were given no chance to discuss the charges with the [redacted]’ or modify the billing based on any complaints they had. Mrs. [redacted] also posted a negative review on our Facebook page last evening. Our response: We had not received a bill until 1/31/2017 and were waiting for our bill so we knew if there was a complaint to be made. We had the naïve belief that the bill would, in some way, reflect the errors, lack of professionalism and lack of communication and the additional 3 days the project took. No, the company did not require us to be off of work but they clearly demonstrated they had no intention of completing and rectifying this job properly or without prompting from the customer. Had Mr. [redacted] not been onsite we do not believe Recreational Concepts would have completed the project. They have given us no reason to believe otherwise. A bill sent 4+ months after the date of completion just adds to the lack at professionalism and trust with this company. Had they billed us promptly we would have discussed the issue with them. Yes, a negative review on Facebook was made by Mrs. [redacted] which states, “Poor communication. Our one day project required three days to repair. [redacted] was rude and didn't want to take ownership for his company's series of errors. We tried to find common ground but they were unwilling.” We refrained from any type of public comment or review until we had received a bill in hopes the bill would properly reflect the mistakes made by the company. We do not feel they are a trustworthy or reputable organization. After reviewing the Revdex.com standards we felt, that Recreational Concepts is in violation of the Revdex.com Accreditation Standards 3(A), 3(B), 4(B), 5(A), 5(B), 7(C) and 8. We believe the Revdex.com will be fair in resolving this dispute and will protect both sides in doing to. Per Recreational Concepts: We do not feel that the resolution the [redacted]’ are proposing is a fair resolution.  We charged them $200 less than the original proposal that the [redacted]’ agreed to pay.  Plus, we gave them $150.00 in-store credit.  We preformed the work as agreed upon and left the jobsite with the pool at the highest quality of standards that we perform. Our response: The water discount and in-store credit have already been addressed. They performed the work after being reminded to do so and after failing to obtain the proper materials for the job. The jobsite was left 3 days later than agreed upon due to their negligence and poor work. We do not accept the bill as provided.

Please consider this email the formal response of my client, Recreational Concepts, Inc. to the request for further information from you dated March 24, 2015.  As described below, further communications through the Revdex.com are not likely to be useful as the parties are at a standstill on the issue.  Due to the limited amount due from Mr. [redacted], Recreational Concepts is not going to take any further action to collect the debt owed at this time. During the course of the project and numerous times thereafter, representatives of Recreational Concepts, including its owner, were in constant communication with the homeowner regarding the status of the project and payment due on the project.  Upon demand for payment being made, Mr. [redacted] left a voicemail message for me at 1:27 p.m. on March 13 indicating that “you’re sending me certified mail and the post office and nobody has my mail.”  Rather than call him back, I sent him a new copy of the letter that same day.  At 1:13 a.m. that night, he filed the complaint with Revdex.com in an effort to use the Revdex.com complaint process to get Recreational Concepts terminate its pursuit of payment. The proposals provided to Mr. [redacted] were consistent.  The price for the liner installation was $1,350 less $250 if Mr. [redacted] assisted. Recreational Concepts stands by its position.  However, it is not cost effective to continue to pursue the payment due of $273.50 at this time.  As such, we will consider the matter closed.  Thank you for your consideration.

We have been in contact with the customer.  We are trying to come to a resolution with the customer that is satisfactory for them and satisfactory for us.

Recreational Concepts, Inc has issued the corrected final bill and mailing through USPS Priority Mail (tracking number 9468 1036 9930 0002 1609 31) with the following credits: Turned in store credit into discount on bill:  $150.00 (In store credit can be used on bills or purchases in store so balance will be applied to final bill)25% discount on the liner:                         $103.23Water difference:                                  ... $180.00Additional discount:                                  $15... discount:                                   ... $589.47 Total final billed amount:                          $1521.95

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. I have asked the Revdex.com for mediation or arbitration. This is not about the money but is about holding Recreational Concepts accountable for their poor and disrespectful business practices.
