We here at Battle Ground Veterinary Clinic were very disheartened to learn there was a complaint given to the Revdex.com about our clinic We strive to provide the best care and service of a patient when they are entrusted with us during a boarding stay We feel it is unfortunate that the client felt the need to contact the Revdex.com before allowing our clinic the time to resolve this situation With our sincere apologies the client was refunded the full amount of boarding along with vaccine charges for both of these patients The ‘doctor on staff’ performed an exam on the patient when he was brought in for the diarhea and the ‘doctor on staff’ approved an overnight hospitalization/ monitoring of the patient at no charge to our client It was our concern that the patient was having an adverse reaction to the flu vaccine that he received on 7/ We in turn contacted the distributor of that vaccine and reported this case to them Our clinic also provided the client with their number to help him with his own research of this vaccineWith our deepest sympathies for his wife’s illness we did not feel it was related to the problems our patient was having The client was informed that there have been no reported cases in which the canine flu has been transmitted to humans During the patient’s overnight hospital stay there were no cases of diarhea to be reported and the patient regained his appetite overnight The ‘doctor on staff’ did however prescribe a medication to help with irritable intestines along with a probiotic chew to help maintain proper gastro-intestinal bacterial flora, for when the patient returned home The complaint from the client that the patients smelled of feces and were flea-infested is also very alarming to us here at BGVC Our staff is highly trained on the care of our patients and are asked to report any flea infestations to the ‘doctor on staff’ right away During the boarding stay, all patients are routinely inspected during our visits with them while also allowing for time outside to stretch/play Not during any of these routine daily checks/visits did our staff notice a flea infestation on this client If our staff would have seen fleas, it is in our ‘boarding contract’ that we reserve the right to treat the patient for fleas (while they are boarding) to relieve them from being uncomfortable and avoid a hightened anxiety level from the fleas (this also allows us to assure our clinic & kennels to remain flea free) Our kennels here are cleaned/disinfected at any time feces is found accompanying the patient and every single time a patient has checked out We regret that this client feels we did not hold up to this standard/protocol with these specific patients We will investigate this situation and assure that the staff here is briefed on this complaint It is also protocol that all the BGVC staff are continually trained and tested on these procedures After we had a chance to communicate all of this with the client and a full refund was given; the client was satisfied Again, here at BGVC we strive to treat each patient as our own and provide each and every patient with our best care and servicesSincerely, The BGVC Staff
