misunderstanding by the patient, [redacted] who was examined by the Doctor Who comes in on Saturday. She prescribed the appropriate contacts for him, as documented on our records, and sees 20/20 at distance though the contacts. When he called, the receptionist did communicate with me that he was having difficulty with his near vision, and my staff told him that he needed to see me, [redacted] who would be happy to evaluate the situation and help him. I am usually in on Tuesdays and Fridays and as the proprietor of this practice and the Doctor Who can help him, he was told to come when I was there. The situation that he has is a simple one to resolve. He is a myopic individual meaning that he's nearsighted and cannot see things far away without his contact lenses or glasses on. But being that he is over 40 years old, he is now becoming [redacted], a condition in which one loses their ability to focus up close through the distance prescription. His vision through the Contacts was a perfect 20/20 and they were prescribed correctly, however sometimes in people with [redacted], what I do and what my other doctor will do when he comes back, is give him a lens of less power in one eye to help him with his near vision through the contacts. This technique is call monovision. This situation is a common problem that we deal with every day in our practice and we would be happy to help him when he comes back and change his prescription to one that he will be more comfortable for him at both distances. He can call our office at anytime and ask to see [redacted] or our Saturday Doctor, and say that he wants [redacted] to be aware when he has an appointment, so that I could help them with the situation. In addition, to make up fo r his misunderstanding we will give him 12 extra Contact lenses in his new prescription for free. I hope this response has clarified the situation as it occurred.
