My son put down a deposit of $and when the trip was cancelled, they never refunded the moneyThis company is not only a scam, it's criminalHere is a copy of an email received from the owner, Dan Peskin, who is a POS criminalHi Mr.G,
The whole situation is unfortunate and I apologize it has occurred at allRed Eye Breaks has been providing the most reliable and safest spring break experiences for more then years and we have sent many thousands of students on spring break and this by far is not something that happens often allOur team each has over years experience specifically with spring break trips and I personally have years experienceIt's rare but when certain things occur, we have to make a judgement call that results in cancellation, but its all for the well being of studentsWhen you speak of integrity I understand your perspective is that your son booked a trip as part of group, paid his bill, had his trip canceled and the company has not at this time refunded the money paid and I don't think your position could have much of a different viewWe had an issue arise where one of the components of the trip became unavailableWe looked at every single option available to adjustIntegrity came into the spotlight in my opinion when the option for us to provide the safest experience and not set this students up for problems was to cancel the trip and we made that callThe alternatives where to rebook a flight and leave them at the same hotel they booked but have the flight times so they arrived so late the first night and left so early the last day that they really would have only had days of value when they paid for days and the alternatives where + hour flights with connections each way and moving them to a hotel that while the hotel was OK, it was close enough to a not great area approaching downtown CancunWe don't do certain things because they seem to be trigger points for trouble for the students some of which include leave them in an airport in Mexico for a layover, especially one that would last hours, we also don't put them in hotels that near area's know for problemsThe hotels we use are all in the hotel zone and near all of the spring break actionIt is not a full proof system, but it has proven for years to be most effectiveWe have a moral responsibility to provide an environment that promotes and encourages a safe experienceIn theory we book the travel and once we provide those arrangements, these students are on there own to experience their spring break, its up to them to act responsible and follow the lawsWe provide orientation and onsite customer service repsSo its crucial and with integrity we put them in environments that set them up for successAnything we could have done this year for this group this year once the components where not working out would have either been done with no concern for their well being or for their financial investmentThe best option was to cancel them and I would make the exact same call again knowing this is how it would goHad it been a group of we could have figured out a way to resolve this sooner, but its a group of 20, we need to recover the funds from our vendors to resolve this, we are working on this daily and slowly making headwayWe had intended to start partial distribution of the funds as we recovered, but last week it was made clear legal action was being pursued and so its best for us to continue on the path of recovering the funds and distribute at one time to the whole groupI understand the group position and wish we could make this occur quicker and I am confident everyone will be made whole sooner then later, but if it has to be through a legal process that's the way it has to beI am not suggesting anyone wait on our word, but I feel from the progress we are making in recovering funds, the refunds will be issued sometime in July to anyone who has not filed a dispute through their credit cardI understand your son paid through another persons credit card and that means in particular you all only receive a refund when the check arrivesI can only tell you we are doing our best and working our hardest daily to resolve this and will not stop until each person is made wholeYou sons money will be refunded in full, but I also understand if you have to pursue alternative optionsRed Eye Breaks has never left one student hanging on any topic from the smallest to the largest, we are not going to start now, we have always been committed to the students, that is why we left our jobs in the industry and started Red Eye Breaks and we will not leave your son and his friends hangingAnything else I can answer for you feel free to let me knowThank you for your patienceDan P***
