Dear Revdex.com representative,
This letter is in reply to the complaint that was submitted regarding our business on 9/22/2015. The complaint was assigned ID [redacted].
I will begin by telling you a little bit about our business. We are a small, family owned, independent...

used car dealership in Perry County Pennsylvania. We obtained our dealership license in 2008. In fact, we are very proud to have been self-employed since 1992.Our customer, [redacted], purchased her 2005 [redacted] on Friday, July 24, 2015. She purchased the vehicle knowing that we offer no warranty on any of the vehicles that we sell.
The vehicle was initially priced at $3295.00 but we lowered the price to $2695 for her because there seemed to be some special circumstances in her family. That alone was a savings of $600 for her. We also discounted the price of the license plate to save her an additional $10.00 in fees. Her total savings was $646.00 from discounts on the price and fees.
The [redacted] Guides values the car at $4175, and a clean trade in value of $2475.00. KBB values the vehicle from $2125 to $2288 for a private party deal. We feel quite confident that we gave her a good deal for the car with 115,830 miles on it.
The customer's dates on her complaint are incorrect, but we pulled the saie documents and the phone records to provide a more accurate timeline.
On 9/15/2015, [redacted] called and stated that the check engine light came on while driving. I told her to bring it to the dealership and we would read the codes to determine the cause. After connecting the computer to the vehicle, there was one code indicating a fuel cap issue. I opened the fuel door and cap and immediately realized that [redacted] had screwed the receipt from her fuel purchase into the fuel cap, therefore causing the check engine light. I also noticed body damage to the passenger side of the car and asked her what had happened. [redacted] stated that someone had backed into the passenger side of her car while it was parked in a parking lot,
On 9/21/2015 at 8:36 am, [redacted] called again with a complaint of a noise that could be described as strut noise.I told her that it is a wear item and that the part failure could have been caused by hitting a large pot hole. She was advised that we could not cover the repair/replacement after 2 months of use. The call lasted 3 minutes and 5 seconds.
Later that same day, at 12:23 pm, an unidentified man called from her phone, screaming obscenities and threatening me with a Lemon Law case. l advised him that the Lemon law pertains to new vehicles, which only angered him more. He stated that his aunt is an attorney and that she would see to it that we would fix the car. I replied that I would consult my attorney when received the letter from his attorney. I asked for his name, but he refused to answer before he hung up on me. That call lasted 3 minutes and 29 seconds. Acting as her representative, he was threatening and offensive in nature, not to mention erroneous in every way.
When I was initially contacted by [redacted] about the check engine light, I was happy to diagnose the issue and take care of whatever it was because it was the right thing to do. However, there was no strut noise or suspension issues of any kind when the vehicle was sold to her on 7/24/2015. Given the damage on the passenger side of the vehicle on 9/15, it is entirely possible that suspension parts could have been damaged by the impact in the parking lot, or by any pothole while traveling or Pennsylvania's roadways.
The fact remains that we sell our vehicles AS IS NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED and are well within our rights to do so. We provide each customer with the opportunity to test drive and, if required, have a mechanic of their choice inspect the vehicle for them before they make their purchase. With that being said, we have been in business in a very small area for a very longtime. Our goal has always been to sell a quality product for a reasonable price and we take pride in that. That is why we have customers that come back again and again. I suppose that in selling 313 vehicles in 2015 to date, there could be one that didn't pan out.
To close, I am forwarding the deal documents from the sale along with your requested information on our business. We are firm in our decision that the repairs are not our responsibility.
Sincerely,Randolph K
