I called Excel Services to have a dog door repaired. The dog door is roughly 8" x 12" and is drywall on both sides (no stucco repair). The technician arrived to our hour nearly 2 hours late (1:51) and proceeded to give me a quote. He called the office to discuss the cost and told me it would be $150. I asked to speak to the person giving the quote on the phone and he said "that's what they told me it would be". I handed the phone back to the technician and he couldn't even believe how much they were charging for this job. Unfortunately, I need the drywall repaired and I did not have enough time to get a second quote as I had an inspection in 2 hours. I decided to go with them, knowing that we had warranty work done previously and it was done well (I only dealt with the home warranty lead and did not deal with the company directly as repairs were under warranty). I called back to speak to someone at the office to get a breakdown of the charges and this is where a lady had a very condescending conversation with me and proceeded to break down the cost ($50 per hour...and $50 for materials). She then went on to make sure I didn't have any other questions in a very smart a$$ sort of way... So, while the original work we had done was great, the interaction with the staff takes away from positives. I am sure there are other contractors out there that appreciate their customers more than Excel Home Services. I advise taking your business to a location that appreciates it.
