[redacted] is a crook he had my motor for six months for which I paid him for parts that had never been bought when I showed up at his shop and demanded my motor I got it in pieces when I demanded my money back he refunded $1500.00 back to my card and wrote me a hot check for $2550.00 for which we are dealing with officer [redacted] in the ft Collins police dept rite now... I just want my money back....

Review: I sent bret bower of racingenginedesign $4750.00 for parts to build a motor for me I never got the motor. all I got from him was the bs. and laies.

on 12-5-12 I sent a deposit of $4000.00 to bret bower of racingenginedesign via paypal for engine parts to build me a small block mopar 408engine.then on 1-02-13 I sent bret $750.00 for additional parts needed for engine.engine was to be completed and shipped by february.I attempted to contact bret on several occasions in march and after contacting paypal to interven bret return my call and assured me that he would have the motor ready to ship in 2 weeks and he would send me pictures of the motor and the tracking number it is 3 weeks laterr and I have not recieved a tracking number or the motor. I contacted bret again 4-18-13 and told him I would send a shipper to pick up the motor if he was having trouble shipping motor.he told me no I am shipping the motor now,they are here to pick it up right now as we speak when I ask bret for a tracking number he said he did not have on yet but he would email one to me shorty. I never recived the tracking number or any other respone from him after we spoke. I contacted paypal again this evening 4-18-13 a ladey with paypal protection services dep.phoned bret mr. bower informed the lady that he would just issue me a check. the motor was never shipping.he been liying the hole time to me he never had the motor build.so he will lie about my money back. he has done this to quite a few people from what I read on the internet.Desired Settlement: all I want is my money back that I sent to bret bower for all my engines parts total $4750.00 I have paper work from paypal with invoice numbers for both payments.I want it sent through paypal to secure my money.thanks.

On April 29,2013 I recieved a call from Bret [redacted] with racing engine design informing me that he would be putting a check in the mail that day to reimburse me for the $4750.00 deposit I had paid him to build an engine. Bret gave me a check number for the check he was supposeably mailed, It is now May 9, 2013 and I have still not revieved the check. I have attempted to contact Bret and R.E.D regarding this matter and have not recieved any response since the 29th of April.

my lawyer sent bret a letter that he had to sign for giving him 14 days to send my check are we will file suit against him. bret sign for the letter an call me the day he got the letter an asure me the he mail my check for $4750 that day April 19 2013,well I never got the check he lied again.then I got the check may 12 2013.he put a letter with the check asking me not to cash the check until May 15 2013 so I did. the bank told me that he did not have the funds in his account. so the bank told me it would take 10 working days to clear. well the bank call me in an told me the check was a hot check.I went to the DA office to file chargers on him for a hot check. the DA office call bret an told him that if he did not have a cerfi. check to there office by may 31 2013 there would be chargers he told her the check would be there. but all he does is lie.so we will see.

Review: I ordered a motor back in March of 2012. I paid in full $10,900 for a race motor from Racing Engine Design and still have not got it.It is Dec,14th.

I ordered a 441 lsx race motor from Racing Engine Design in Fort Collins,CO on March 8th of 2012.I was told it would take a couple months to get it and I still have not received it. It is now December 14th 2012. I have been told several times that I will get it and they fell thru everytime.He will not return phone calls when I call and has fell thru on every promise. Invoice # is 462. Bret Bowers will be the contact. I paid $10,900. Paid By credit card. Desired Settlement: I want all of $10,900 returned to me ASAP.

[redacted] ordered a engine that was a custom build, we are using this engine for our signature race engine and he agreed that we could R and D this to make it the best, we are fixing a few issues and are sponsoring him this year, Our policy reads no returns on custom engines, no refunds on custom parts, we would be happy to sell his engine for him or send it to him. we have a no refund policy but are happy to work with him. this engine is valued at 18,000 dollars, so a real bargian at 10,900.00 . he also agreed to all this . all time frames to build custom engines are approximate. based on parts availibility, again we are happy to work with him.

I understand that a custom motor takes time to build but it does not take a year. Bret built several motors for a engine building contest while mine was late. Yes I am getting a good deal if it pans out to be what Bret claims it is. But with all the issues he has had building it not sure what I'll be getting. He has promised to ship it six times and never fowllowing thru. And the last ship date cost me $800.00 more on a appointment for having a cage put in my car. When the motor or money shows up and it is proved to be what I paid for this dispute will be done.

Now Bret has promised to ship the motor on or before the 8th of January but will be shipping without the computer that it will need to run. Not only that in one of the emails he sent prior he said he would provide a refund for waiting so long and that has not happened. So instead of a refund I want the computer sent when the motor might be sent. It should also come with Black top intake,electric water pump and fuel injectors and everything else promised when all is done!

XXXXX, the quote is through FreightQoute .com. the approximate arrival date is on or before the 16th of January per Qoute. Review: Beware of this shop. This man is a liar and a fraud. In 2006 I gave him $13,000 for an [redacted] cylinder head aluminum engine block and a racing oil system and other parts. In November 2007 he told me he had received the parts but returned the block to [redacted] Cylinderhead because he could not make it work. He said he received a credit for these items but I did not get any money back. He refused to show me any invoices or receipts for the parts he was to purchase with my $13,000. A month ago I called [redacted] Cylinderhead and spoke to Josh who, after consulting his records, told me that Bowers had never attempted to purchase these items and that he had sold only two similar blocks that year neither one going to Fort Collins, Colorado.

He has signed two contracts agreeing to complete the car. The first one was signed September 1 agreeing to have the car completed by September 30, 2012. He signed a contract on March 6, 2014 to have it finished by May 15, 2014. The only thing he has done as of August 19, 2014 is remove the engine. He has told me every week for two months that he will have the new engine installed and the car in completed form. He has excuses and lies in every pocket. This project started eight years ago and I am still waiting.

Think twice before you deal with this man. Anyone wishing a complete account of this history can reach me at [redacted]. It appears that civil court or small claims court is the only way to get any sort of restitution. I am now in the process of pursuing it to that end.Desired Settlement: He needs to complete the car in a specified amount of time. He needs to reimburse me for all parts for which I have paid but he has not put in my car. He needs to stop telling lies and be a professional business man.
