I am rejecting this response because: the quality of repairs was not to standardI had to bring my vehicle to another shop and have it finished correctly

In replying to [redacted]'s complaint, I noticed below that its stated that she left me a voice mail. We don't have voice mail. As to the actual complaint, I can attest to the following: [redacted] brought the GMC Jimmy in initially for an oil leak in early March. We found the engine covered in...

oil and gave her an estimate on fixing the leaks. She  brouht it back to us a few days later and gave us permission to procede with the repairs. When asked before beginning repairs about a payment method, she stated that she would have the money upon completion. We started with the repairs. During the process, she requested an oil pump be installed since one leak repair involved removing the oil pan and it was an easy add on. After completion of the work (itemized on the attachment), [redacted] came in to pick up the vehicle. At that time she stated that now she only had $200 after initially stating that she would have the full amount of 895.56. Since her mother and aunt were regular customers, Jim agreed on a payment arrangement. [redacted] came in after picking up the vehicle that she had low oil pressure. We checked the pressure several times over the course of several weeks. We replace the oil sending unit that was originally installed. As she stated, our mechanic told her that normal oil pressure at idle (approx 1000 RPMs) is 6 psi according to Mitchell On Demand. We were never able to see it go below that amount. Mitchell also states that oil pressure at normal cruising is 18 psi (at 2000 RPMs). Again, we were never able to see the pressure out of range. She still believed the pressure to be low and complained about it. She never stated that she had an issue with her initial repair complaint of oil leaking. If you look at the itemized repair list, notice the number of parts installed to repair the oil leaks. Our labor rate is 75.00/hr. We charged her 500.00 for labor. At that rate, we only charged her for  6.67 hours of labor. The rear main seal alone calls for 8.2 hrs plus all the other seals that were replaced. Normal billing on this should have been approximately 750.00 for labor for about 10 hours of labor. We cut the price due to her connection to our other customers and that she was to pay in full at completion. She states that someone fixed it cheaper but doesn't say what the fix was and how much was charged. We deserve a bill from a certified repair center to see what was done and if it was related to what we did, we can make a price allowance on her bill. But for her to not to pay but $200 of the bill, demand a refund and not show documentation of what was done to fix her problem, we believe that to be unreasonable since she doesn't seem to have a complaint about the leaks. She only complained to the Revdex.com after Jim started pressing her for payment of the bill. Please let us know if any other info is needed. [redacted], manager

I've filed one complaint before this, but I am filing another because the first wasn't properly addressed. In March 2016 I had Jim's do some repairs on my 2001 GMC Jimmy. It was requested for them to change the oil pump. I had taken my car back multiple occasions because I was having low oil pressure. The mechanics would say that a PSI of 5 was normal, of course, a normal women would believe the mechanics. I was advised by another mechanic to have Jim;s address all the issues, which was never done. The mechanic never did any work to the car, I had no additional work. I had no work done, because I was told my car was safe to drive. The issues kept getting worse and worse. I had to sell my car to a family member, because it was unsafe for my boys to be transported in. Within a few months of the family member driving the car, the motor locked up completely while driving down a busy road. I would like a refund of the $200 which I had before hand. I really did trust Jim;s but somewhere down the road the mechanics just didn't the job properly.I would like a refund for the $200 to be mailed to me. Thanks.

[redacted] brought the Jeep Liberty into us initially in October 2015 for an engine noise and driveability problem. We found that the rockers on the left side of the engine had come off. after replacing them several times with repeated issues, we called his warranty company. We quoted the head...

being pulled and a valve job done on the left head. After reassembling the engine, rockers on the right side came off. We put a set on lifters  on the right side and test drove the vehicle. It seemed to drive fine and we told Mr [redacted] that he could pick it up.A day or two after picking up the vehicle, the problem reoccurred. We spent approximately 15-20 hours over the next couple of months (working on it in between other cars) trying to correct the problem. Mr [redacted] had come and picked up the vehicle several times only to bring it back either the same day or 1-2 days later. We discussed the problem with other techs in the area and it was determined that the cause was probably low oil pressure even though previous oil pressure tests did not indicate it. Our technician spoke with the warranty company in mid January. He explained the oil pressure issue and was told to take the engine out at the owner's expense and diagnose the issue further. We pulled the engine and found the oil pickup tube was full of debris. We cleaned it out and reassemble the engine. The vehicle was driven several times over the next few days with no issue. We told Mr [redacted] to pick up the vehicle. He brought it a stating it ran rough. He stated that he had someone else look at it and they claimed that it had a dead cylinder. Our tech looked it over and found that the other shop had left a couple coils unplugged. Our tech reattached the wires and Mr [redacted] left. This was approximately a week ago and we have not heard from Mr [redacted]. I did call and leave a message on February 2nd to check on the vehicle and, again, have not heard back.Mr [redacted] failed to mention several things. Firstly, recently, we learned that prior to bringing the vehicle in, it was ran with very little oil in it. Secondly, the warranty company repair required Mr [redacted] to pay a $100 deductible. We waived that for him. Thirdly, after pulling the engine, our tech suggested a used engine. Our cost on the used engine was approximately $1950. The warranty company stated the vehicle only had about $1350 worth of coverage left. We offered to do the engine labor free, have no mark-up on the engine cost and bill Mr [redacted] only for the difference between the engine cost and the amount covered by the warranty company. Mr [redacted] asked if he could pay $100/month on the difference and the owner declined. This occurred about the time of his filing to the Revdex.com. Lastly, besides the labor, we have incurred costs in parts reassembling the engine after cleaning the pick-up tube and nothing was charged to Mr [redacted].

Obviously,  this doesn't even deserve a response but since I know that one is expected, here it is. Now she states that the engine was knocking, which wasn't on the original complaint that the oil gauge showed low pressure. She still hasn't answered the question of what was done to correct the problem, who fixed it and what they charged. She is arguing minor details like how the $200 was collected. Also, making unsubstantiated claims about the employees shows a lack of class and does nothing to further the resolution of the claim. She needs to provide the information as to what was done to the vehicle after it left here and verify it was related to what was done. [redacted], Jim's Tire and Auto
