Red Mountain Tire & Auto Reviews (3)

Review: I took my vehicle in April 11, 2013 for a check engine light and tune up. I paid $1,137.00 for full blown tune i.e. belts, hoses, oil, brake shoes, air filters, radiator flush and hose, clamps, anti freeze, oil filter, spark plugs, etc. They told me it was all necessary and I got it back April 12, 2013. April 30,2013 it would not start. I had it towed back to Red Mountain on May 2,2013 because it still wouldn't start. They said it was a cable ends for the battery. I was charged $45.72. I was informed by on of the workers that they had a new guy working there. May 12, 2013 when I was around the corner from my house, the engine started sounding like something was flying around in it. I knew something was bad so I turned around and went back home. I had it towed back to Red Mountain Tire May 14,2013. They claimed some previous repair shop had not installed a water pump correctly. They told me they could not now fix my truck. I informed the owner the last water pump changed in my truck was when I lived in Tennessee 5 years ago. I have driven it across country and for several years without problem. I contacted Toyota dealership and had it towed there on May 14, 2013. Red Mountain gave Earnhardt Toyota my vehicle without belts and took my past repair orders out of my glove box and kept them without permission. Earnhardts found front crank pulley had come loose and spun end of crank shaft damaging crank shaft, keyway, dampner assy. All the damage resulted in ruining my engine because of poor workmanship by Red Mountain. Earnhardt said they would stand behind their finding that Red Mountain ruined my engine. Earnhardt had to actually go get the belts from Red Mountain that they took off my truck and I had to physically go get the contents of my glove box from them. I had to have a new engine put in my truck because of Red Mountain Tire & Auto.Desired Settlement: I want Red Mountain Tire to refund me all of my money that I paid to them plus $4,197.00 I paid to Earnhardts for a new engine.

Business

Response:

[redacted], I am sorry to hear about your predicament. If you remember correctly when you came to Red Mountain Tire & Auto you explained and showed me an invoice from another place of business called Automotive Engineering. It is a business down the street. You showed me an invoice from just a few months earlier that contained the repair of a water pump and a lot of other work. The repairs we did were mostly maintenance and things your car needed. Upon your last return to our shop we discovered exactly what the Dealer discovered and advised you of it. You had Automotive Engineerings bill in your hand when I talked to you on the phone. It was oboist that they were to blame not us. The next day you had it towed out of our shop to the dealership. Please refer to them for your complaint as our repairs had nothing to do with the bolt on dampener not being tightened correctly. All we did was discover what the dealer eventually discovered. I agree with everything you said in your letter and even corresponded with the service adviser at the dealership. Please foal free to call if you need further clarification to your problem.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards,

I would like to give [redacted] at Red Mountain Auto a very positive review regarding the warranty on brake pads. He replaced them free of charge because they were not working properly. I have been a customer of Red Mountain Auto for almost 10 years and they have always been fair and honest fixing my vehicle. I recommend them to everyone without hesitation. Thank you for being an honest auto repair shop. Regards, Susan Sanders

These guys did a great job for me. I have been a customer for 15 yrs and have always found them to be honest and dependable. They will go above and beyond to make you happy. Would recommend them to all my friends/ family. [redacted]. Mesa
