Review: I bought a Mango cake on Sept. 4,2013. Upon arrival at home, my Mom and two other visitor tasted the cake and they said it's a bad cake. Due to my work schedule and distance to the store, I was only able to go back to the store on the 8th of Sept. to complain about the cake. This time, the icing of the cake is starting to have black spots (molding) even if it has been refrigerated with cake expiration on 9/9/2013. The manager refuses to replace the cake to my disappointment. I'm not asking for a refund but it would be nice to get a replacement after paying a high price for such a small cake and driving the distance. They said they never got any complains about their product before but going to the yelp.com, I found out that I was not the only one that got bad cake from them.

This is [redacted] Red Ribbon Store Manager. I would like to explain our side of this complain.

There is an SOP in our store that before giving the cake to customers the condition and the sell by date of the cakes are double checked. We usually tell our customers not to leave the cakes inside the car while they are doing some shopping (due to hot weather). When they bought the cake, we checked the cake and everything was ok. They should have called the store/bakeshop when they arrived home and tasted the cake.

Actually, the Mango cake is the Bestseller in our store, we usually sell an average of 15-20 cakes a day. During that time, we didn't hear any complains from our other customers.

Since we value all our customers, I personally called [redacted] and spoke to her about her complain. We came up with a settlement of her picking up a replacement cake anytime.

Yes, I spoke to [redacted] and has come to an agreement of them replacing the cake which was my request in the first place. Rather, I have to wait for half hour for them to decide not to replaced the cake. Also, I do want her to know that when I bought the cake, it was around 8:00 pm so it was not possible for it to go bad due the hot weather. By the time I got home, the store is already closed for me to call and complain about it. The cake was returned three days before the expiration tag and icing is showing little molds so irregardless of it not being returned the next day is not acceptable for them not wanting to replace the cake.
