Most fun I've ever had getting a tattoo! Nothing but talent in this shop. Vanessa is the owner and an exceptionally gifted artist with some unique touches. Lauren is rising fast in the tattoo world and gaining a stellar reputation of her own with Madison also excelling in the field. Their eyelash girl Billie is just as talented and is the finishing touch in this all girl shop. Can't say enough about these girls but I've got ink from all of them and my tattoos speak for themselves. Love, love, love this place ❤️

I have several dozen tattoos. 98.65% are from RRTC. Such a chill vibe there. Vanessa Always makes you feel welcome and makes time for you! The other girls there rock too, so cool to see a shop of women only in a male dominated industry. Also they sometimes have 2 frenchies , soooooo amazing!!!!

Super clean place. Super friendly. Helpfully. And laid back, everyone in the shop ends up becoming friends by the end of their appointments. Really neat place, unique and amazing. I'd give it 12 stars if I could.

The people at RRTC have been nothing but warm and welcoming to me. Their policies are fair and they're work exceeds expectations. They're hard working individuals that have proven they belong in the tattooing industry and in the heart of Thunder Bay.
I'm proud to have gotten work done there, I will be going back for sure!

I have been tattooed by all three of the artists at this shop. It is extremely clean and professional. The girls are so sweet and I love that they all chit chat with you while you get tattooed. You can get eyelash extensions here too and the girl who does them is very nice as well. Will definitely be back.

Amazing atmosphere! Absolutely love the feel of this place. The girls who work here are so kind and personable and They are all such amazing artists. RRTC is clean and sanitary! I can't wait to get my next tattoo here ð?¥°

Red River Trade Center is filled with the most amazing accomplished women vibes I have ever felt! They all have such incredible talents and I am so pumped that Thunder Bay has this gem of a shop to represent business here.

I personally have had work done by Vanessa, who has won best tattoo artist in Tbay for the past few years and if you check out her Instagram you will see why!!! Her work is IMMACULATE! Every time I go into the shop, I am treated with utmost respect and all my needs have been catered to no matter how meticulous and picky I can get haha. I have such a great time at the shop that I always over stay my welcome because the environment there is soooo refreshing! The energy keeps me smiling all day long and I can't wait to go back and get more work done!

If anyone is looking to get a tattoo that will only improve your beauty while having the best time, this is the place to go 100%! Their work is only getting better and better, its mind blowing!

RRTC is fantastic. Bright open space, discerning detail to cleanliness. The owner, Vanessa, is friendly, professional and talented! Red River Trade Company is the only shop I visit when I am in Thunder Bay. I have had many friends and family go there for their artwork and they are always thankful I sent them their way!

I have literally every tattoo on my body from this amazing shop and could not possibly recommend enough. The women are highly qualified in various methods within the art and are extremely professional when distributing their practice. I'm constantly getting compliments on my sleeve and it is all because of my girl Vanessa, little bit of Lauren and a small hint of Madison. Could not possibly have more love for this shop.

This is the best place with the kind of staff that feels like a family! I love how wonderful and kind everyone who works here is on top of being super talented with what they do! I have so much work done from Vanessa and it has held up for years, looks wonderful, and still gets admired everywhere I travel! These are the best kind of people, so if you don't like them you might be an xxxxxxx.

Absolutely FABULOUS service from the most amazingly talented and passionate group of ladies I have ever received from a tattoo shop. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and talent of Vanessa, Lauren and Madison. Their attention to detail and customer centered service cannot be topped.

Hello - in addition to a customer service complaint, I am also filing a complaint regarding the fact that I never received my $169.50+HST deposit back after there was no service provided due to the circumstances. I had booked an appointment to have a tattoo done with Vanessa on March 7th 2020 at 12:00. This was going to be a memorial tattoo for three people who were very dear to me who have passed away (***. Back in December, Vanessa assured me that what I was requesting sounded great and that we could go ahead ? she went and charged me a deposit of $169.50 +HST for a 'medium? tattoo. On the day of my scheduled appointment, I walk into Red River Trade Co. approx. 10 minutes early. Vanessa is sitting in the tattooing area socializing with two other people. She does not get up to greet me and asks if I have an appointment. When I tell her my appointment is with Vanessa, she groans, slowly gets up from her chair, and walks over to me. I make an effort for some small talk by commenting on her nails and she sloughs me off, hands me a clipboard, and tells me to go sit down on the couch and fill out the paperwork while she 'sets up'. At no point did she mention the design or show me an example of what she had prepared for this tattoo. I go to sit down on the couch and I see that it is COVERED in dog hair, slobber, and a chewed up red dog rope with little pieces all over the couch. I am a dog lover, but I do in fact have an allergy'*** As I start filling out the paperwork (which took less than 3 minutes) I see there is a section that says, 'I agree with the design of the tattoo YES/NO'. I left this part blank because, why should I be filling out a sheet for something I haven't even seen yet? I had questions I wanted to ask and never got the chance to do so.

She arrived at the shop at 11:50. I said hello handed get a waiver to fill out and asked her to take a seat while I set up. I started setting up at 12:00 when her appointment time started. As per health unit regulations. The first part of the set up is done with the client in the waiting room however I have an open concept shop so the client can see what is going on. This is the non sterile part of the set up. At 12:20 I was on my way to call the client over to get started with the tattoo process. She started shrieking and yelling it was *** that it had taken so long and that I was "***" with my co workers while setting up. It made for an extremely uncomfortable environment for the other Artists and clients in the shop. She then stormed out saying she did not want her tattoo anymore. I was left with a set up I needed to discard, no client and drawing time I had put in. This is why a deposit is charged to cover us for these exact situations. She then proceeded to make threatening phone calls and emails giving me a deadline to give her non refundable deposit back or she would essentially ruin my business. I did not respond to her trying to *** money from me. She proceeded to slander me in line and went as far as to call the health unit trying to hurt my small business where I employee 3 other women. The health unit came in on Tuesday and fortunately cleared all the complaints she had made. One about my set up. Which they stated I did indeed follow procedure in. Two about my nails which they again deemed completely acceptable and three about my Dogs being in the separate waiting area which had been cleared previously by the health unit prior to her appointment. I am willing to provide any of the paperwork or emails. She claims she is allergic to dogs however has pictures all over social media of her with her own dog. Another concern of hers that was not brought to my attention. If this had been brought to my attention she could have absolutely been sat on a chair In a different area. Or perhaps she could have avoided sitting in the couch like she did the whole time? As for her deposit it is stated clearly on my online booking website repeatedly that deposits are non refundable. She has also stated the incorrect deposit amount. I charge 150+hst for a deposit which is also my minimum charge and comes off of the end price of the tattoo. This deposit is to cover my time in case of a no show client or in this instance if a client decides they don't want their tattoo. It covers my drawing time, set up and supplies etc. She has technically already used this money.
I have never in 12 years of tattooing and 5 years of running my own business had anything even close to this happen. At this point she is harassing me and I am very close to filing a police report *** This has gotten completely out of control.

- So you pay $169.50 +HST and only get $150 back??

I had emailed the business owner requesting my deposit back because of the content of the conversation I had to overhear while waiting in the waiting room (*** I do in fact have a dog allergy which is why I have a specific breed of dog.

*** At no point was I shrieking". My voice was pressured and I was shaking because I was upset, almost in tears. ***
There is nothing false in the information I have shared. ***

I understand that it says "deposits non-refundable" . *** I figured the deposit refund would be justifiable.
*** Had there been an apology from the onset, this whole situation could have been avoided.
